I was on my way to talk to Isabelle regarding my dress when I saw Jace passing by the hallway as he saw me "Wow, someone looks hot" he said coming over to me as he winked
"What can I say, dressed to kill," I said looking at him as he smirked walking over to me and looking me from up to down as I smirked
"Got someone interested?" I asked having a smirk on as he laughed a little and kissed the knuckles on my hand
"Might be, wanna see" Flirting with me he raised his eyebrows at me
"Mockingbird" I punched him on the shoulder as he laughed and went to change while I walked to the weaponry.
"Well, you know before Clary and Veronica came here, it was all the same Go on Missions, Kill demons. At least now it feels like an adventure" I heard Izzy talking to Alec
"If you think saying this will make me feel good about it then no because I'm not interested in seeing Jace running around that little girl every time and Veronica well- I just hate it that we have to do all this and that too without the orders of the clave," he sighed as I felt bad for coming here, but I pulled myself together and walked ahead
"Sorry to interrupt your little conversation, but I just wanted to ask Izzy if this dress is appropriate for the party?" I said moving my hands around the dress
"You look so beautiful and Sexy Veronica. It's perfect for a party. I love it, at least someone knows how to dress for occasions like these unlike some people" Izzy says walking over to me
"Thanks, I was confused about what to wear so I thought of asking you once," I said as she smiles at me
"you don't need anyone's word, just look at the dress, tell me to raid your closet the next time we're going out, and I'm sure Alec thinks the same right?" She says as she winks at me
"you look beautiful," Alec says as our gaze matches and my ears turn slightly red
"I promised Clary, I'll help her get ready. I'll be off now" Izzy says giving me a smirk as I smile watching her go
I look back and notice Alec staring at me, "Thanks for the compliment" I say as I pick up his arrows trying to be as normal as I can
"you look lovely Veronica. The dress looks good on you" he says looking down at his arrows blushing
I look up at and our eyes meet as we both look at each other I see his collar a bit messed up and fix it as his ears turn red and I step back
"Sorry, it was messed up so I thought" I see looking down at the arrows blushing
"It's okay, thank you" he stutters as we lock eyes for a brief moment
I walked away from the weaponry keeping my head down back to my room after having a moment with Alec blushing as I pick up my dagger and seraph blade and smiling thinking about our moment but also feeling bad for what I heard
"Do you think red is my color?" Isabelle asked as we all stood there in the line of the rave looking at me and Clary
"Izzy, With a body like yours everything's your color," Clary said as I chuckled
"True you look good in everything, You can rock even a basic outfit and look great in it," I said as she smiled and Alec demanded the necklace to be handed over to Jace for negotiation.
"Veronica" I heard Alec whisper as he slightly touched my hand which I slipped away from as we moved into the club with the crowd
"Alec we're on a mission," I said as we separated, Jace and Clary went together while Izzy went to the dance floor, Alec at the highest point of the staircase and I went to the dance floor to just enjoy myself for some time.
I sway and dance to the music as I turn around humming the song to see Alec's eyes on me watching my every move as I dance, I smirk to myself and dance fully swaying to the beat and enjoying myself until I hear out Clary's cry and rush over
"No this can't happen" I heard Clary cry out as I looked over to where these three were and walked over
"What happened everything okay Clary?" I asked holding her
"Dot.. she's" Waiting for her response I looked at Magnus as he spoke
"Dot's dead I can't feel her magic now," he said as I turned around sharply to look at him as he had a worried expression on his face
Clary negotiated with him for her memories I saw a man behind Magnus about to go in for a hit as I readied my blade to kill him
"Watch out," Alec said as he aimed his arrow at the guy and released it which I luckily missed by inches as I dodged it
"It's Circle Member, You okay?" Running over he asked as he took the arrow out of his chest I nodded.
Magnus couldn't wait any longer as he told Clary how she could get her memories back and that she was not safe here but wasn't ready to go. "Look I can keep you safe with me at my lair, your mother would have wanted that," he said giving her a last chance
"I'm not going anywhere with you," she said to Magnus
Without any further delay, he created a portal and left from there while everyone started walking back but Clary held back Izzy grabbed her as I nodded and they all walked out in a rush while I stayed behind in the club.
The conversation happening inside and outside the club will be in bold for a while, but it will be normal after the scene.
Outside
"You know what? This is great," Alec snapped "Not only did Magnus not return the girl's memories back but also took the necklace" Alec snapped at Jace as he looked over to a distorted Clary
"Alec the girl's name is Clary and I highly suggest you keep your voice down" Jace replied to his parabatai
"Why? Are you afraid I might upset her? We risk our lives again and again for her and look where it has gotten us. Nowhere" Alec snapped back at Jace "We're nowhere near to finding the Mortal Cup and now we have lost the institute's necklace," he said as glared at his Parabatai
"I'm sorry that because of me now you're gonna look bad in front of your bosses Alec but I just lost someone, because of me everyone is risking their lives and I can't do anything. I will get my memories back and then you can have that necklace of yours back" Clary said earning a glare from Alec
"Guys" Isabelle called out
"What is it Izzy?" Both Jace and Alec say at the same time
"Veronica's not here, I thought she was following us outside but-" Isabelle stated as both the male looked at each other in horror
"Great, first we lost the necklace and now Veronica is in there between those demons because of you" Bringing his hands up in annoyance Alec said to Clary
"I'll come with you," Isabelle said as Alec stopped her
"I'll go look for her you stay here," Alec said as Jace accompanied him and they both went back into the rave to look for her
[Inside the Club]
"Someone told me the bartenders know more about the folks here than anyone else right?" Watching over to the bar and making eye contact with the bartender I asked flashing him a flirtatious grin
"Would love to tell anything to a woman as beautiful as you, Gorgeous" he said giving away the drinks in his hands
I leaned forward with my hand placed upon my chin "Then why don't you tell me how many of those people who attacked my friends a while ago are left in the bar?"
"I wish I could tell you that, is there something else that you would like to know?" He asks looking around cautiously
"Too bad, I thought you would help a woman in need out here but I guess it's of no use," I said faking my concern, and turned away
"I can't see a woman unhappy, well there are 4 more here and some of them went away looking for your friend. They're regulars here" he informed me as I smiled
"And who are these regulars of yours" Grabbing his hand I asked
"The guy in the denim jacket, he and his gang usually hang around here and love to help a woman out" he winked at me as I looked over and found those guys standing there in the corner
"Well then, why don't we make them think that I do need help with something," I said, running fingers through my hair as the bartender understood
After a while, I start getting annoyed at the bartender as he tries to explain something to me while the guys approach me
"What's gotten a pretty girl like you so worried about darling?" The guy said as I smiled knowing he fell into my trap
"I was just asking him for a drink and he said that he can't offer me. Is that how you treat a woman?" I looked over to the guy showing a fake concern
"What would you like to get darling, I'll get it across" he had this smirk plastered across his face, the same shitty smirk I come across from guys all the time
"Bloody Mary," I said as all of them looked and smiled
"1 bloody mary for the lady here and 3 beers for us," the guy said and before the bartender could respond he slid money over the counter as he went away to get the drinks
"I would have wasted so much of my time if you people wouldn't show up" I flirted with the guy as he placed his hand on my waist smiling
"Tell me what you need and I'll give it to you," he said pulling me close
Alec's POV
I and Jace walked back in to find Veronica and looked for her around the place I found her leaning over the bar and talking to the bartender being annoyed about something as I called Jace.
We were about to approach her when we saw a few guys come and stand close to her, like really close and we could hear some of their conversations and I didn't like it when the guy placed his hand on her waist and pulled her close, I don't know why but someone being near Veronica irked me always.
I was going ahead when Jace stopped me and said to listen once and see what she was doing as the guys looked like Circle members.
I looked at them and heard the guy "Tell me what you need and I'll give it to you tonight" flirting with her as my blood boiled
"Anything I ask?" Veronica asked playing with his hair as she kept one of her hands on his shoulder he smiled and nodded
"Well then why don't you tell me where your other friends went away to?" she responded to his question and I felt a little uncomfortable watching how it was acting out
"Just to meet an old friend and settle things, nothing a woman like you should be concerned about. Let's talk about you though" the guy said pulling Veronica with him to a corner in the rave as we followed her
"Was it Magnus Bane?" she said as both Jace and I gave each other a look the guy backed away from her as she stabbed him instantly with her seraph dagger in his chest and he died. As we both stood there and looked in awe
Normal
The other three rushed towards me seeing the commotion I kicked one of them and he fell over the nearby table shattering all the glass on himself giving me more time as I moved around quickly before the third one approached me and slashed his throat with my blade causing him to die.
The guy lying on the floor got up and came forward and got shot by an arrow and fell at my feet I looked around and saw Alec standing with his bow tightened.
"You okay?" Alec asked
"They didn't do much did they?" They both rushed to my side
"When we came we saw the guy had his hands wrapped around we thought you might be in trouble" Alec stated looking at me "You're sure you're okay"
"It's okay Alec, I'm fine calm down. I had it handled" Resting my hand on his shoulder I calmed him down as he took a breath
"Nice aim btw" I winked at him as he blushed
"I got taught well," he said as we both smiled at each other
"Speaking of aim" I turned around sharply and threw the seraph dagger at the bartender aiming straight for his chest and walked over to him with these two "You lack behind," I say as they fell down
"How-how did you know I was the last guy?" He asked as I smiled getting him up with Jace and Alec's help before someone notices
"You would've known if I had time to deal with you," I said as I stabbed him with my dagger with those two by my side
"Maybe Izzy and Clary should learn something from you," Jace said as I snickered
"Nate" I called out and hopped over the bar looking for him as I found him lying down by the counter. I splashed some water onto him as he woke up "shit"
"You okay?" I said getting him up his arm wrapped around me
"Yeah, a little," he says as I hand him some water
"How did this happen?"
"This guy came over asking for a special drink and then kept asking for Max. I said I didn't know anything about it and the next thing I know I'm lying on the floor" he says as I nod
"Thanks, Nate, you always have been a lifesaver for us and the agency," I say as he smiles nodding
"You go back home, take rest for a while. We'll handle the situation" I say as he nods "You'll be fine on your own or should I let Jason know to drop you" I ask as he nods no
"I'll be fine, you guys go ahead. And yeah take care" Nate says as I smile back and he leaves the bar
"Who is he?" Alec asks
"A trusted Ally of the Agency helped us out on countless missions. The owner and the bartender of this club" I say turning around as I lock my gaze with both of them
"We're going to Magnus's right now without further adieu he needs help. Valentine's men are already on their way right now" I said walking out from the crowd with Alec looking over me
"Are you sure you know where he is" Alec questioned
"I do" We went out and I saw Clary and hugged her, comforting her after hearing about Dot.
"Veronica" I hear him whisper as we walk out "You're really strong and brave," he says with a smile as I look at him and pass him a smile as we move forward
