"Did you hear that?" you quickly looked around, putting down your brush as Albert turned to you.
"Hear what, dearest?" he asked, making you purse your lips.
"I swear I heard something..." you muttered, looking around the room.
He raised a brow as he closed his newspaper, looking and hearing for something off.
"It might just be the wind," he reassured, but you were still wary.
"You're right... I must be just tired," you rubbed your arm and nervously laughed, "I'll just go get a drink,"
"(Y/N),"
"Yes?" you turned your head in the voice's direction, seeing a dark hallway.
"Hello?" you called out, turning on the light but saw no one at the other end.
'HA...! Nope,' you nervously scoffed as you quickly put away your glass and walked in the opposite direction.
'This whole place got hundreds of rooms... Go haunt somewhere else,' you grumbled as you walked back to the bedroom as quickly as possible.
As you rushed through the hallway, you didn't see someone was about to bump into you.
"Careful!" the person quickly grabbed your hand, letting you go back on your feet.
"Thanks, love..." you breathed out in relief, making him sigh.
"Why were you such in a rush?" he innocently asked, making you look away in embarrassment.
"I was..." you drifted off as you tried to think of an excuse.
As you looked around for an answer, you saw Albert's eyes light up in realization and start smiling.
"...You didn't scare yourself, did you?" he smirked, crossing his arms as he leaned on the wall.
"No!" you instantly denied, feeling your face heat up.
"I just didn't want to make you feel lonely," you halfheartedly answered, making him lightly laugh.
"Is that so?"
"Yeah," you answered, avoiding his gaze as he kept his smug grin, making you even more annoyed.
"I see. That's sweet of you," Albert smiled as he kissed your lips, but you knew he was unconvinced.
"Right, how sweet am I," you grumbled, irritation radiating off you as you walked past Albert, making him snicker.
You hummed to yourself as you replaced the flowers around the manor, trying to block whatever noise you heard from earlier.
As you watered the plants, you felt someone walk past behind you, making you turn around.
No one was there.
'WHY ME?? OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN THIS HOUSE, WHY ME?' you internally cursed your turned back, trying to occupy your mind with something else.
You hummed a little louder, now singing to yourself as you continued tending to your plants.
As you focused on your task, you didn't feel someone creep up behind you.
"Dearest," he whispered closely in your ear, making you jump and shriek.
You heard laughter behind you and quickly turned around, seeing it was Albert trying to contain himself.
You scoffed as you threw your rag to the ground, catching his attention.
"That's not funny, Albert!" you shouted, hitting his arm.
"I'm sorry..." he said between laughs, pulling you into a hug as he kissed your cheek.
You rolled your eyes as you pulled away, but he kept his hold on you as Albert littered you with kisses, asking for your forgiveness.
