2nd Person's POV
You felt your body hit the ground, sounds muffled all around you by the ringing as your eyes could see the grey sky.
You looked around and saw your torso slowly getting covered in red.
You slowly touched your stomach and saw red dripping from your fingers, but you couldn't feel anything.
'Shit...' you thought, trying to regain control of your body, '...I am going to die at this point...' you tightened your jaw as you looked around for something-anything to help you.
You saw you were in a dark alleyway, a group of men fighting not too far from you.
You recognized one of them, sporting blond hair and raging red eyes, as he finished the men with a slash of his sword.
'William...' you tried to call out but could only say in your head, trying to reach out to him as your vision started to get covered with black spots.
You saw him turn to you, his usually calm expression now wretched with anxiety and anger.
As he finished the remaining man, he quickly ran up to you, scanning your body as he looked at your bleeding torso.
You saw his lips moving but couldn't comprehend what he was saying.
You could only watch as tears slowly formed in his eyes as he lifted you up, trying to get help.
The last thing you saw was William talking to a man in a white coat before becoming unconscious.
"A play?" William questioned, looking at the tickets.
"Yeah! I heard it was pretty good and wanted to check it out with you," you smiled, hoping he would agree.
"You've also been cooped up in your office for days, and I thought this would be a nice change of pace!" you added as William analyzed the tickets.
"It does sound nice... But didn't you get hurt from the mission the other day?"
"I'm fine!" you reassured confidently, "It was just a cut. But not even a stab wound could stop me,"
"And then, I saw her..." you continued your story as William moved closer to you.
His gentle smile was still present on his face, but his body was straight as he kept a protective arm on the small of your back.
You raised a brow at him, but he kept his smile, looking around attentively.
"...I don't think we're alone," he whispered, making you widen your eyes, "Just act normal for the time being..."
You nodded and kept your smile, continuing your story as you had an eye out for your surroundings.
You slowly opened your eyes, now seeing you were inside a white room.
A sharp pain suddenly stabbed you, making you hiss and put a hand on your stomach.
'That's right... We went to see the play and got jumped by Milverton's people...' you sighed, remembering the familiar faces of two of the men.
"Anyhow, they should be okay in-" you saw a doctor with William walk inside your room, shocked to see you were awake.
"(Y/N)...!" William breathed as he hurried to your side, checking your injury.
"Hey..." you weakly greeted with a smile, trying to sit up.
"I really ate my words, huh?" you joked, making William weakly chuckle as he covered his mouth.
"(Y/N), please..."
