AN: i am apologizing right now for how obnoxious long this chapter is

Iris and Mon-El came back to the DEO, and as soon as they did, they found Barry, Kara, and Joe standing by the circular table. They quickly walked up to them, shivering in anticipation, hand in hand.

That alone had surprised Kara, making her assume that they had talked, and were finally together. Little did she know...

"Hey guys," Kara said, causing Barry and Joe to look their way too, "What's up?"

"Um," Iris muttered, smiling nervously, "We have something to tell you..."

Joe smiled, already knowing what was coming, all while Barry stared at them slightly panicked, "Oh, my god, how far along is she?"

Both Joe and Kara slapped his arm while Iris and Mon-El stared at him annoyed, "Dude...really?" Mon asked.

"Sorry, different announcement then," Barry muttered.

"Yes, actually," Mon said before Iris excitedly held out her hand, revealing the engagement ring on her ring finger.

Barry and Kara gasped, almost squealing in excitement as Joe just stared at them in joy, "Oh, my Rao!" Kara exclaimed, immediately taking her hand and examining the ring.

"You didn't!" Barry exclaimed, smiling at Mon-El.

"I did," he said.

The group then squeezed each other in hugs, happy over the occasion. But for Barry, it was different. For him, he had been waiting for this moment for six years. And it finally came.

"So, when's the wedding?" Kara asked, as they broke the hug, "Sorry, that's too soon."

"Actually, it's not," Iris said, "We're getting married in the next few days."

"Wait, why so soon?" Kara asked before widening her eyes, "Are you actually pregnant?"

"No!"
"Seriously?"

"It's because...I'm moving with Mon-El to the future..." and they stared at her shocked.

———

A few minutes after that, Iris had walked upstairs, finding Alex and Lena, and she was about to tell them, when—

"Hey, you guys."

The three turned around to find Ruby running towards them with Sam trailing behind. Iris smiled at the girl, especially when she crashed a hug into her, "Hey, girl," she said, "Oh, my goodness."

Ruby then hugged both Alex and Lena, who were a little taken back by it, "Oh, yeah, I'm...Okay."

"Well, I came to say thank you, but I think Ruby just did that for the both of us," Sam said as she finally caught up with her.

"Yeah."

"You made me feel safe when everything was horrible, and you made me have faith that my mom would get better," Ruby told Iris, who smiled down at her with adoration, "And I don't know what I would've done without you."

"Well...I mean, you were a great roomie," Iris said.

"And I especially loved the nights when your 'friend' would come over and make us dinner since you can't cook," Ruby added and Iris shot her a glare.

"Shut up," she said before the two chuckled.

"So," Alex said before looking over at Lena, "Wanna give the good news?"

"Sam...all your blood tests came back, and they are normal," Lena said and Sam exhaled deeply, in relief, "There is no trace of any Kryptonian DNA. You are 100% human."

"Thank you."

"Come here," Sam said before they all hugged, "Thank you. Oh, God, thank you."

And that was when they all noticed Iris's ring, and went on to congratulate her. And Ruby made a small comment that she knew that Mike was not her 'friend'.

In a back room, Winn looked over his design again, sighing to himself when James walked up to him, "Hey," he said and Winn also noticed that Iris was behind him.

Winn fiddled with the paper before he dropped it on the table. He then looked over at the two, "I gotta go," he said.

James grunted softly, knowing that's what his answer would be, while Iris smiled softly at him, "I've been...I've been searching for my calling, you know. This...This is it. I must save the future."

And then they all laughed, before staring at each other in nostalgia, "What about you?"

"I can't keep waiting on the world to change," James said, "My future's now."

Iris smiled at him before the two looked at her. She sighed, knowing she was going to absolutely miss these moments, the ones with her, James, and Winn. The human team.

"I'm going to the future with you," Iris said and they both looked at her confused. But then she showed them her engagement ring, and they stared at her shocked. Gasping, "Mon-El proposed..."

———

In another part of The DEO, Alex found J'onn sitting down on the floor, his eyes closed, meditating. She quietly came in front of him, sitting before him, staying there a moment before saying, "I don't know how much longer I can do this, J'onn," and he opened his eyes, attention gazed on her, "I put my life on the line every day. And every day, I run the risk of losing it. And I feel like I haven't even had the chance to really live it yet. I'm afraid that if I don't make a move soon, right, if I don't reach out and take hold of my future, of what my heart wants, then I'm never really gonna be happy. So, that said, I, uh...I wanna give notice. So that I can find my new beginning, and I can have a family of my own."

But J'onn shook his head, "You're a hero. It's in your blood. You can't resign...because I want to promote you," he said and Alex stared at him confused, "This year, I have had the most priceless gift. I found my father. I lived with him, I learned from him. He reminded me that the Martian way is to live amongst the people, and to help them. Not hiding behind walls, like I have been here, but with open hands and compassion."

"You're stepping down?" Alex asked.

"I am," J'onn said, "But I am not leaving you. I would never leave my family," he then took hold of her hands, "Alex..."

"Uh..."

"I want you to run this place," J'onn said and she stared at him shocked, "Be the director. With you in charge, I feel the DEO will stay on the right path to protecting this planet, and helping those who cannot help themselves. And being in charge, you won't have to put yourself in the field all day, risking your life. You don't have to deny any part of yourself to be complete. You can have a family. And you can be a mother. All on your own terms."

Alex looked completely shocked, not knowing what to say as J'onn got up from the ground. He then held out his hand for her, "Congratulations, Director," he said as she took it and pulled herself up.

"That's not how I saw this going," Alex said and J'onn laughed before the two hugged.

Just a couple days later, was Iris and Mon-El's wedding. It was a small gathering, just close friends and family. An hour before the ceremony, Iris was standing in the middle of her packed up apartment as she admired herself in a full length mirror. Her dress wasn't insanely over the top, as she had once imagined it to be. It was just a simple, silk white dress, with her now long curly hair slightly pinned back.

Suddenly, the doors of her apartment opened up and it was Kara, in her bridesmaid dress, with was similar to her own bridesmaid dresses except it was purple, "Okay, the most important job as maid of honor, is getting you there on time," Kara said as Iris looked back at her, "Lucky for you, I have super speed—" Kara looked up at her at that moment, seeing Iris fully dressed for the first time, and she froze, "Wow...you look very beautiful."

Iris beamed, fiddling with the bouquet of white roses in her hands. Kara then walked up to her, giving her a hug and the two stayed there for a moment, taking in the last very few moments before Iris was a married woman.

———

The ceremony wasn't in a church like Kara and Barry's wedding was. They didn't have enough time to book something, so they just decorated a little gazebo in a garden. The guests sat around the gazebo, talking with each other before the ceremony started:

Cecile, baby Jenna, Wally, Ralph, Captain Singh and his husband, plus a couple of Joe's cop friends sat on one side while James, J'onn, Sam and Ruby, and Alura sat on the other side.

Soon enough, the ceremony began with Mon-El walking down the aisle first as the song 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran played. After that that, the maid of honor and best man came out, and soon following the groomsmen and bridesmaids.

After Kara and Barry, Winn and Lena, Cisco and Caitlin, and Brainy and Alex walked down the aisle, standing in their rightful spots, instrumental music began to play, causing everyone to stand.

Mon-El stared at Iris completely stunned when he finally saw her, arm in arm with Joe. Iris smiled at him, that same one that made him fall from that very first day.

It felt like forever, but once Iris and Joe were at the end of the aisle, Iris handed over her banquet of roses over to Kara, who smiled at her. Iris then faced her dad, who smiled down at her in adoration, emotion overwhelming her, "I love you, baby girl."

"I love you, too, dad."

He kissed her forehead before he gave Iris away to Mon-El, and they grabbed each other's hands, facing each other as the song slowly came to an end.

Suddenly, John Diggle came out, standing behind the two lovebirds. Kara smiled at him, thankful he could take the time to marry her two friends.

"Everyone, please be seated," and they all did, "I'm honored to be presiding over the wedding of Mike Matthews and Iris West. And I may not know their story as much as you all do, but I already know they are a good match. Because of all of you. Looking out on all of you, their friends and family. Seeing the joy on your faces, seeing how happy you are for them, tells me everything I need to know. Tells me these two people deserve to be together."

Dig then looked in between the happy couple, smiling before saying, "Now repeat after me..."

"I, Mike Matthews, take you, Iris West, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part."

"I, Iris West, take you, Mike Matthews, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part."

Dig smiled once again before finally saying, "Mike Matthews and Iris Anne West...I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

And just like that, Iris and Mon-El kissed, holding each other so tightly as the sounds of cheers from their loved ones was heard.

The DEO

The next day was Winn and Iris's last day in 2019 before traveling with The Legion. They stood in the middle of the facility, along with Mon-El as the agents of the place surrounded them, bidding them goodbye after many years of seeing them everyday.

"Thank you."

"Congratulations."

"Thank you so much."

"All the best."

Off to the side, Supergirl stood with The Flash and Alura, watching the three, admiring them, "They're heroes," Supergirl said and Alura looked at her.

"So are you, Kara Zor-El," she said, causing both the husband and wife to look over at her, "I am so proud of you. You stuck to your ideals, and found a way when there was none — I will miss you, my daughter."

The two then hugged each other as emotion came over them, a sense of sadness, but yet, knowing they'd see each other again.

"I love you, Mom."

"I love you," Alura said before the two broke their hug, "And I will bring Selena and the witches back with me. They will stand a just trail, I promise you."

"Good," Supergirl said before smiling.

But then Alura's attention went over her and The Flash's shoulder, indicating someone had walked up to them. They looked back to see it was Lena, holding a metal briefcase.

"Lena..."

"This is the Harun-El your daughter asked me to make," Lena said before she handed it to Alura, "And the recipe to make more."

"Thank you," Supergirl said.

"With this Harun-El, Argo will survive," Alura said as the three looked back at her, "Though I hate to depend on it. There's so many things that we don't know about it. It's uses, it's powers, it's dangers. I'm so glad that none of it will be left on Earth," and the two heroes smiled in agreement.

Meanwhile, Iris was saying goodbye to her Flash family. Cisco walked up to her and Mon-El first, a look on all of their faces, knowing that didn't know when they'd see each other next, "It's been one hell of a ride, West," he said and Iris smiled, "First Harry, and now you two..."

"Hey," Iris said, bringing his attention back to her, "We'll see each other again. I swear it. You're my family," and Cisco smiled before Iris looked at Ralph and Caitlin as well, "You all are..." and they then hugged each other, one last time.

When it ended, Joe came into Iris's sight, and found that he was already choking up, "Daddy...it's okay," she softly said and he nodded, knowing that she was finally happy. And the two tightly hugged, before Joe pulled Mon-El into the hug, "It's gonna be okay..."

When they parted, Joe and Mon-El shook hands, giving each other a stern look, "I'm proud to call you my son-in-law," and Mon-El smiled happily.

After a few moments, J'onn walked up to the three, smiling, "Agent Schott...Ms. West," and the two sighed in nostalgia, "You have been a fine agent, and a spectacular friend."

J'onn hugged Winn tightly before Winn said, "I'm gonna miss you too, Papa Bear," before the two chuckled.

Then J'onn and Iris hugged, "Thank you for everything, J'onn," Iris said and J'onn smiled to himself before the two parted.

Next, James walked up to them. James and Winn did a cool little handshake before James pointed a finger in his face, "Do not tell Clark I taught you that," he said and Winn laughed as they hugged.

"No promises," he said as the two held their hug, for what felt like the last time, "I'm gonna miss you, man."

"Yeah."

The two broke their hug before Iris and James hugged, "Thank you for always sticking up for me," he said and Iris nodded.

"Always," she said.

When James walked away, Winn and Iris were caught in the sights of Alex, who was already breaking down at the thought of them leaving. Tears developed in Iris's eyes, her lips scrunching up as Alex walked up to her, hugging her tightly. Iris hugged her back, all the memories of the past six years staying with her, "I'm gonna miss you."

"Me too, Alex."

Alex then went on to hug Winn, the both of them with tears rolling down their cheeks. She then cupped Winn's face, pressing her forehead against his, telling him all he needed to know with that simple gesture.

She then walked off before Supergirl and The Flash walked up to them. Supergirl stopped before Iris, who had broken down at this point as well as her blonde best friend, "You were the first person I told I was Supergirl," she said and Iris chuckled, wiping away her own tears, "You stuck with me during one the hardest times of both of our lives. You made me feel safe...you're my best friend, Iris West."

"You're mine, too, Supergirl," Iris said before the two tightly hugged. They knew this moment was coming, but they still weren't prepared for it. Supergirl didn't know when she'd see Iris again, but she did know she would miss her of every minute of every day.

Supergirl then moved on to Winn, "And you," and he gave her a sad smile, "You made my suit...kept it safe. And you've been a true friend — I'm really gonna miss you."

"Okay," Winn muttered, before the two hugged, not wanting to get as emotional as they already were.

The Flash then walked up to his sister and they smiled at each other. They held out their hands, completing a little hand shake that they've done since they were eleven. The two then hugged, happy for the other, like any other sibling would be, "I'm forever grateful for you."

Lastly, Lena walked up to Iris and the two smiled at each other, "You know...you were one of my first friends when I moved here," she said and Iris fumbled with her hands, "And you'll always be one of my best friends," Iris smiled before the two hugged as well.

Once they parted, Iris took Mon-El's hand, she and Winn looked at everyone, remembering all the memories they had together. Knowing how much they were gonna miss everyone and everything, "I'm gonna miss you guys," Winn said, and Iris nodded in agreement before they all hugged, chuckling as they did.

———

Right before Iris and Mon-El left for the Legion's Ship, J'onn had found them, for one last moment with Supergirl, The Flash, Alex, Cisco, Caitlin, and Joe. They were in a private area, one for just the family, and the newlyweds didn't know what was going on.

"I just want to give you one last gift. A wedding gift, for everyone," J'onn said and they looked at him confused.

"What?" Iris asked.

"Your memories of the last timeline," J'onn said and the two stared at him surprised but shocked.

J'onn just smiled, before placing his hands on each of their shoulders, as a red telepathic glow went from him, to Iris, and Mon-El, then the others as well. Every word. Every moment. Every laugh. Every tear. Every confession. Every kiss. Everything from the past timeline came into their memories again, as for The Flash, it was just rewatching the past six years and smiling about it.

After the red glow faded away, they all looked at each other in a new light. Everything was put the way it was. Barry's mistake was fixed. And he wished he had gone to J'onn in the first place, if he knew it would be this easy to fix it.

Iris and Mon-El looked at each other, almost like they were looking at a soulmate that they had been lost to. They smiled tenderly before hugging tightly. This was their ending. And they were just grateful it was a happy one.
