Chapter 132: Multiple POVs
Eveleen's POV
When I stepped into that cavern I never expected to bond with Loki. I meant to free him and then face Erebus, but when we kissed all those plans went out the window. His touch had sent electrical shockwaves through me. Now, standing here on the battlefield with his hand in mine, I felt stronger than I'd ever felt, but I also felt calm. I wasn't afraid of Erebus anymore. Deep inside, I knew the battle was already over. It was just time to show him how outmatched he really was.
"Erebus," I said, my voice carrying across the space. He turned to look at me with a wicked grin on his face.
"Fairy, so nice of you to join us," he drawled, "I see you found your trickster."
I gave a short laugh, "Oh, I found so much more. Would you like to see?" I could feel the magic rising in me, coursing through my veins, just begging to be released.
The Titan cocked up an eyebrow as everything came to a stop around us. It was as if the scene had frozen with only he and I still moving. I could hear my loves in my mind, some begging me to leave, others demanding to know what I was doing. I briefly locked eyes with Gabriel and then Owen. They both smiled softly and gave a gentle nod. Loki squeezed my hand before letting go he softly whispered, "Take what you need, ástvinur." Like a lock slipping into place, I felt all their powers connect in me.
"I'm done with you, Erebus. This ends today."
Raven's POV
I felt something like a tickle in my stomach, then watched as malen'kiy voin raised her hands at the titan and used my powers to throw lightning at him. "Damn, that's hot," I smiled in pride that she chose my powers.
Luke snorted at my reaction with a huge grin on his face.
Erebus dodged the throw with a look of shock. However, the shock on his face quickly changed to rage as he launched shadows at her. They sailed past her just like when Gabe had put up his shields. She never even flinched. Erebus roared as he continued his assault. She stood her ground, silently pulling magic from each of us. I heard Brandon and moy solnechnyy svet gasp when she filled the area with their sunlight. Even the other gods and goddesses seemed to be in awe and unmoving.
"Can we give her fruit cup now?" I asked moy solnechnyy svet.
He looked at me as a smile crossed his face, "Hell yes."
Corey's POV
Dreamgirl was magnificent. She faced Erebus like he was nothing but a flea. Her entire body language and aura screamed control and power. You could feel it the moment she and Loki appeared on the battlefield. Even our patrons took notice of the change in her. I guess North was right. Loki's bond was the missing connection to bring all her powers into focus.
All I could think of was grabbing her, pushing her against a wall, and fucking her until she was crying out my name.
"Can we give her fruit cup now?" Raven asked me.
I smiled like a fool, "Hell yes." I know the bonds connect us, but damn if I don't want to make her my wife, our wife. I want to scream from the rooftops that she is ours.
Gabriel's POV
The look on her face was pure determination. We all stopped our actions and let her take control. I could feel her essence tapping into mine. Like a soft pull, she gathered my magic and that of my dragon, channeling it into herself. Fuck, she looked so damn sexy, her hair floating around her as magic moved around her and that fucked up titan. I heard Raven ask Corey about a fruit cup and laughed. You better fucking believe we were marrying her.
"You get the fruit cup, I'll get the fucking ring," I nodded at Raven. He let out a laugh as little wolf threw a fireball at Erebus.
"I'll get the collar," North growled. Ahh, fuck, little wolf with a collar. Shit, I'm hard just imagining it.
"Really, gentlemen is this the place for this conversation," Owen groaned. "Perhaps we should focus on the remaining shadows and those loyal to Erebus while Tesoro finishes exercising her anger on him." We all just shrugged our shoulders and started following his suggestion.
"I'm staying here, just in case," Nate said. I nodded in acknowledgment.
Nathan's POV
She looked like what I imagined a real Valkyrie would - pure strength and grace. Her eyes blazed as she faced him, all traces of fear were gone. She unleashed a series of spells on Erebus without a single word. He stumbled backward, his skin ripping open across his shoulder and chest.
"You cannot destroy Shadow, little fairy," he roared. "I will always exist in the places in between."
Wait, was he right? I mean, he is a God, which means he is immortal. Guys, can he even die? I asked the group. Every head whipped back around to her.
No, but he can be contained, Loki answered.
We're working on it, Nyx added. I looked over to see her and Typhon creating some type of portal.
My attention was drawn back to Valkyrie when I heard her cry out. Her body was doubled over with a large spear protruding from her shoulder. Sean ran towards her, but she held up her hand to him. Owen grabbed Sean's arm as he tried to reach her despite her wishes.
She threw her head back and let out an ear-shattering roar. What the fuck?
Axel's POV
My skin felt like it was on fire when I heard her scream in pain. What I saw next almost dropped me to my knees. Instead of my petite little dove, now standing before Erebus was a fierce-looking silvery dragon. Her head was crested in small ridges with two horns just behind her ears. She had her wings slightly extended as she roared at the titan and pulled the spear from her wing as if it were a toothpick. His shock was priceless. I think Victor's assumptions about the magic of Fairie blocking his access to her had been correct. The God clearly didn't know the spell had been completed.
Erebus swiped a massive hand at her, but she shifted and raked her front claws across his already torn chest. He let out a pain-filled roar and stumbled. She never gave an inch as she continued to slash at him.
"Gabe's shifted as well," Silas said, nodding towards the russet-colored dragon behind Dove.
I followed his gaze to where Gabe was pawing at the dirt. Damn, he looked pissed. It's ironic, when we were younger, Gabe was the lowest rank on the Blackbourne team. Sure his fashion and artistic talents were amazing, but mission-wise, he wasn't considered a strength often. Now, well now, he scares me more than Raven or Owen ever have. He's still Gabe, the funny and mischievous guy I've always known, but he's also powerful and a natural strategist. In Academy terms, he'd be a natural team lead far more than either Kota or Marc and a better liaison than either myself or Owen.
Victor's POV
My dragon heard her roar and instantly responded. My wings billowed as I let out my own roar and a stream of fire cut through all the shades around me. Within seconds, I could hear Gabriel's roar as well. His shift was almost instant as we both focused on her. She was breathtaking as her silvery scales glimmered in the dim light.
"Fuck me," Brandon muttered. I let out a chortle at his reaction but then I felt a strange sensation. It was like a current running through me. I heard several of the others let out low groans and looked around. They were all facing her now, their eyes a silvery shade. She was drawing deeply from us now. Gabe dug at the ground behind her, his talons slicing through the rock and hard-packed earth. He was resisting the urge to attack Erebus and so was I.
Instead of releasing fire when she opened her jaws, a blast of ice flew out sending Erebus reeling backward. I heard Loki snicker softly...hmm, must be his power she's using.
Jewel, do you need any help? I asked her.
Can you and m'anam help me position him closer to the portal, mo dhragún?
Vic, go behind him and push him towards us, Gabe said. Owen, keep the portal concealed until he's ready to fall.
We all moved as instructed. No one hesitated or questioned Gabe's instructions. I watched as North and Jace trailed my movements, helping me corral Erebus and cutting off his path. Loki, Luke, and Marc were all in various forms of giant serpents that blocked the only other point of exit for the titan. Sean stood near Owen with Raven, Corey, and Brandon to the left flank of Jewel. Axel and Silas were to the right of Gabriel.
"Do you really think you can kill me, fairy?" Erebus boasted. "None of you are a match for me. I'm immortal you fools," he raged as he stalked closer to her. She gave the impression she was retreating slightly as she moved closer to Sean and Owen. Without a sound, Axel and Silas created a deep gorge of water behind the titan as Loki raised then froze it. He was boxed in now, but still, he thought he could move forward.
Eveleen's POV
Just a little closer you conceited bastard. Everyone had worked together to push him closer to the portal. Owen's magic was flawless, you couldn't even see a single shimmer or clue of what lay beyond. I only prayed that Nyx and Typhon had built it strong enough.
"Do you really think you can kill me, fairy?" Erebus boasted. "None of you are a match for me. I'm immortal you fools."
As we neared the portal, I found my dragon voice for the first time. "Eternity is an awfully long time, Erebus."
Now! I yelled to them all.
Nyx, Typhon, and Odin surrounded Erebus as Owen dropped the illusion. Victor and Gabriel pushed him forward as Luke and Marc slithered around his feet, making him fall forward, head first into the portal. Before anyone could move, I was in Fae form again and with Owen's help, sealed the portal. His muffled roars could be heard, but nothing could enter or leave now.
"How long will it hold him, Seirína?" Silas asked me.
"At least a few millennia," I said casually as they gaped at me. "He's right, I can't kill him, but we trapped him. He's in a pocket dimension with only his own thoughts to keep him company."
"What if someone finds him, or lets him out," Marc asked.
I giggled and looked at Cailleach. "Well, child, the beauty of a pocket is that it isn't connected to anything. The spell will keep him moving and in between realms for a very long time," she chuckled as she explained, "Even now, it isn't where it was a moment ago." I walked up to her and hugged her tightly.
"Thank you," I told her softly, then turned to the others, "Thank you all." They responded with nods and various acknowledgments. I turned back toward my loves. We all looked exhausted. "Can we go home now?"
"Not quite, Princess of the Fae," a deep voice boomed.
