"As long as we keep the flames up, and the doors locked, it won't come in here."

"It?" Lei asked as she sat down next to Beomgyu.

"We saw it." Jun said quietly as he leaned against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest.

"You saw what?" Hani asked as she raised her eyebrows.

"The monster." Beomgyu whispered as he looked down at his hands.

"Stop lying." Lisa chuckled as she shook her head.

"He's not good at lying." Lei said softly as she looked at Beomgyu.

They all went quiet as they tried to process that fact.

"What is it like?" Juri asked as she sat across from them.

Beomgyu took a break as he felt his hands start shaking again.

"It was... ugly. Just weird looking. Kind of like... skin less? I don't even know how to explain it. It had these shards of metal hanging from its jaw. Long shards. They kind of looked like-like blades. And it was so tall." He said quietly as he held his hands together as tight as he could.

In a way, now that he knew what it looked like, it was almost, a little less nauseating. Before, he didn't know what they were dealing with, but now he has an idea of a potential weapon they could use against it.

"Was it fast? Like can it move a lot?" Lisa shakily asked as she held onto Sara.

"I don't know. It was a little slow when it was coming towards me."

"We can't underestimate it like that. It managed to cut me all over, and I was running faster than I ever have."

"The door opened by itself. Maybe it could move things with its mind or something." Beomgyu suggested as he looked at Lei with curiosity.

"Like Vecna?" Sara asked in fear, making them all look at her in amusement.

"What's Vecna?" Jun questioned as he furrowed his eyebrows.

Everyone looked at him in slight shock as he continued to be confused.

"You haven't seen Stranger Things?" Lei asked quickly, making Jun shake his head. "It's a monster that can move things with his mind, access your darkest memories, snap your bones and suck your eyes into your skull."

Ali looked at Lei in horror as he heard the things coming out of her mouth.

"Why did you say it so horridly?" Beomgyu said through his teeth as he looked at her and tilted his head towards the child.

"But it's not real." She quickly backtracked as she noticed the look on the kid's face.

"But it could be."

"Naya shut up, it's a show. This is different."

"How do we know that?" Naya sassily tilted her head towards her sister, making her roll her eyes.

"Whatever this thing is, we know it's pretty similar to that character. Instead of getting us in some sort of... trance, it can possess us. It can move things with its mind, and it doesn't like fire." Beomgyu concluded as he crossed his arms over his chest in thought.

"So, what are we gonna do now? Are we going to stay stuck in here until all the candles burn out and it eats us?" Jun said as he rolled his eyes, leaning away from the wall.

"For now, we need to wait until it's daytime to try to escape through the lake. We can't get in the water if we can't see anything. It'll work out best if we stay surrounded by as much fire as we can until we get to the lake."

"How do you know it can't hurt us in the lake?" He questioned Beomgyu as he grabbed a blanket and draped it over his body, laying on the floor.

"We don't know that, that's why we need to test it." Lei said quietly making everyone look at her.

"What do you mean test it?" Hani asked softly.

"We won't find out unless we get in the water. We'll see tomorrow."

"I don't think you will."

Everyone turned their heads to Naya in a hurry as she continued to stare at the ground.

"What are you talking about?" Lei questioned her sister.

"You won't... leave."

Beomgyu's eyes slightly widened at the cadence of her accent.

Right then and there, the lights suddenly flickered back on, making them stare in confusion.

"I guess the power came back." Ali said softly as she looked around, grabbing one of the lanterns in his hand to put out the fire.

"Don't." Jun said making the boy stop in his tracks.

"Right. I forgot."

"Naya. Kid. Do you think you can come with me to the lake to get the boats ready? We'll need to run there, though." Beomgyu asked carefully as he stared at the little girl.

Lei furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at Beomgyu in confusion.

"What are you-"

"Sure."

Lei slowly turned her head towards her sister as she felt chills run down her spine.

That's not my sister. She would never agree to run. She could die if she did.

"Hani, get away from Naya." Beomgyu whispered making Hani look at him in confusion.

"What-"

"Get away from Naya-"

It was all so quick.

Suddenly, Hani's eyes widened as she let out a strangled scream.

They all watched in shock as Naya stabbed Hani in the back, quite literally.

Their first instincts were to scream as they tried to stand as far away from the scene as possible.

Lei watched her sister menacingly giggle as she continued to stab her friend.

Blood piled all over her pretty yellow dress as it splattered everywhere.

Hani's body dropped to the ground with a thump.

"Naya." Lei cried as her tears fell down her cheeks.

"It's not her." Beomgyu said as he stared at Naya in fear.

Naya smiled brightly at them as the blood continued to drip from her face.

The kids all cried as they tried to cling to the adults as much as they could.

"Get out of my sister!"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Naya smirked as she held the knife up.

"Leave her alone, she's a child."

"That's precisely why I took her. Naya won't come back to you now." She menacingly spoke as she licked the blood from the knife.

They stared at her as she walked around the room.

"Hani was too young, so little knowledge. Not as tasty." Naya shook her head in disappointment.

Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows as he remembered the creature had said something similar about him.

Something about wanting his curiosity.

Does it absorb our capabilities?

"It's a shame she was the closest."

Lei couldn't believe her eyes as she saw her little sister acting like she's a psychopath.

Everyone had their knives in hand, they were all huddled together in one side of the room as Naya continued to walk like crazy.

Jun slowly started walking towards Naya, making her stop pacing.

"Jun, get back." Beomgyu warned as Jun continued to casually walk towards Naya.

Jun suddenly bolted towards Naya to try and grab the knife from her hand, but he wasn't fast enough.

A squelching sound made everyone startled as Jun's hand dropped his weapon.

Before they could all process everything, Naya had plunged her knife in Jun's stomach.

Blood seeped out as Jun's eyes were wide.

All they knew to do, was run for it.

They all followed each other out of the cabin door in a hurry and ran down the dirt path.

Suddenly, a high-pitched scream was heard, making Beomgyu stop in his tracks.

"Ms. Juri!" Sara cried out as she ran to hide behind Beomgyu.

Beomgyu looked to where she was pointing, seeing Juri on her knees.

Blood was running from her eyes as she tried to catch her breath.

She gripped her own throat as she gagged desperately.

"H-he did it." Juri croaked out as she fell to the ground.

Lisa cried as she held onto Ji Ah for dear life, avoiding looking at Juri's lifeless body.

Beomgyu felt tears in his eyes as he stared at his best friend on the ground, blood seeping from her head.

Lei's eyes widened as she saw the person behind Juri, holding a knife in his tiny hand.

"Ali?" She whispered as her vision became blurry from her tears.

The kid smiled innocently as blood trickled from his hand.

"Ms. Lei, did I do something wrong?" The child menacingly asked as he tilted his head.

Lei couldn't believe her eyes at the sight in front of her, but she didn't have time to process it before she was pulled by her arm by an erratic Beomgyu.

Before they could get farther away, the kid's body dropped to the ground.

Beomgyu stopped running as he spotted Naya also fall to the ground less than a few seconds after Ali.

They all stopped as they noticed Beomgyu staring at a spot.

"He's gone from them." He whispered as he stared intently, trying to call their next move.

He remembered Theo, and the way he fainted after killing all those animals.

He slowly walked towards the boy as Lei cautiously held onto his arm with fear bright in her eyes.

Beomgyu kneeled down as he checked the pulse of the child, feeling absolutely nothing.

"He's- he's dead."

Lei's gaze immediately went to the body of her little sister, that was a few feet away from Ali.

She's gone...

He took her.
