Two days later
Author's POV
Taani and Rey were getting ready, it was her first day of college and she was hell nervous. Moreover, he was there with her but did not talk to her or made any effort of comforting her. she was sad that he unlike every time was being so distant. She was waiting for a wish or even a 'best of luck' from his side but nothing came. Right not, she was looking at her dress nervously not knowing if it was appropriate for first day in college.
Rey entered the dressing room only to root at his place as she was nervously twirling in front of the mirror to see herself. He coughed gaining her attention and she looked at him who raised his single brow, she hesitated biting her lower lip making him invisibly groan as she said,
"Vo..vo...kesi lag rahi hu? Is this dress okay?"
At his question, his gaze lingered at her for more than a few seconds, trailing from her head to toe making her squirm. He just nodded before moving towards the shelf and pulling the cabinet took out a tie. She started looking if she packed everything when she saw him wrestling with the tie. A giggle was gonna escape her lips seeing him frowing and getting frustrated.
His stubborn nature amused him, if any other time he would have already asked her to help him. softly smiling, she asked,
"May I?"
She pointed at the tie, he halted for a second, looking at her and then at tie. Wordlessly, he just forwarded it after a few seconds of thinking, smiling she took it and stepped closer to him. both could breath in the other's scent at this proximity, when she swinged the tie around his collar effortlyessly. Setting his collar she started tying the knot, her eyes gazing at his fake indifferent afce as he looked at anywhere but her. she smiled sadly as this time he didn't catch her waist like all the others times or tried to kiss her.
She sighed saying in a small voice,
"Today is my first day, aap kuch bolenge nahi?"
She said prolonging tying the knot so that she can steal a few more minutes, he just shook his head making her smile drop. She looked at him with those innocent eyes and desparate face wanting him to talk to her. she sighed when he didn't, adjusting the knot and the flap she patted his suit softly, but before he could have stepped back she leaned and kept her cheek on his heart resting there. he stiffed for a second feeling her hands on his chest and her afce on his heart when she whispered,
"I am scared, pehla din, college. Last time I went was around an year back. Tab socha nahi tha I'll be able to go again. I know sab sahi hoga, but fir bhi thoda sa darr lag raha hai."
She raised her head a little and looked at him,
"I'll do good na?"
He just moved back and was going leaving a sad Taani behind when she heard a small mutter that came from him,
"You will!"
Taani smiled as he went away downstairs while she just sighed, shaking her head she too followed him out. After having breakfast they were going to leave, everyone was wishing her when Avantika asked,
"Rey, tu Taani ko chhodne jaa raha hai na?"
Rey looked at his mother and said,
"Nahi maa, meri ek important meeting hai, main nahi jaa paunga."
Even though he was not lying, he really had a very crucial meeting to attend, Taani's face fell thinking he was saying because he didn't want to spend time with her. Gauri was going to scold him,
"Ye kya baat hui Rey, Taani se zyada kya zaruri....."
But taani stopped her,
"Mom, koi nahi, he told me about his meeting. Or vese bhi main koi bachhi thodi nah u jiske first day kisi ko drop karna zaruri hai. Or sanskar or Naina bhi to vahin jaa rahe hain, main inke sath chali jaungi."
All smiled nodding while Rey just looked on, seeing the sadness behind her fake smile. He felt guilty but he was helpless, he genuinely had a really important meet otherwise he wouldn't have missed her first day for anything. He just hoped she didn't misunderstand him on the prospect of him being angry with her.
Taani soon left with Sanskar and Naina, the trio was talking and soon reached college. Taani entered inside and for a second forgot every thing that is going around her, studying further, going to college again was her dream and it was now being fulfilled. Her eyes shimmered as she looked around not even noticing the admiring gazes of her brother and sister-in-law along with all the others who were looking at her curiously and admiring as well. She was looking like a doll and the boys were intrigued to know her along with girls who too wanted to know the new girl who came such late in the semester.
Sanskar and Naina helped her with formalities, she was going towards her first class fidgeting with her purse when she frowned finding a rose and a card inside it.
She brought it out curiously and was surprised to see a beautiful card with a red rose, opening the card she read,
Congratulations on your dream come true. I know you'll do great. Just believe in yourself and everything will fall into place.

Taani smiled reading it, there was no name but she knew who it was and it made her heart burst with joy seeing his gesture. He knew she was hell nervous, he might not be talking to her but she was aware he was her biggest supporter. She sighed kissing the card and saying,
"Baat bhi nahi karni, care bhi karni hai. Huh, how did I get so luck Reyansh? Kahan I never ever considered worthy of other things, or ab jab aap aisi cheezein karoge, how will I find myself worthy of you? Thank you for being with me despite everything."
She hugged the card and kissed the rose, reminding herself to award him with his favourite dishes tonight in the dinner. Now more confident and happy than ever, she skipped to her class ready to begin a new phase of her life.
She entered the class ignoring all the gazes and sat on the third bench in second row. She was avoiding looking around when she ehard a cheerful voice,
"Hi, new student?"
She looked beside her and smiled seeing a bubbly and cheerful girl standing just beside her desk, Taani nodded forwarding her hand,
"Hi, Taani Singhania!"
The girl's eyes widened,
"Oh my god, so you are Reyansh Singhania's wife and Sanskar and Naina Singhania's sister-in-law. The whoel college has been talking about you since the day you came here for your entrance."
Taani looked around cautiously as the girl surely gained everybody's attention hearing Rey's name and soon she herad whisperes while everybody started introducing themselves to her. she got confused about what was so special and the girl beside her was giggling seeing Taani nervously greeting everybody.
When everybody left her, Taani heaved a sigh of relief saying,
"What was that?"
The girl giggeld saying,
"Sorry, it was my fault, I shouldn't have been so loud. Well, they are studying with Reyansh Singhania's wife, of course, they'll try to be in your good books. After all your husband and Veer Singhania are the trusties."
Tani nodded when the girl slapped her own forehead,
"Oh, I forgot, I am Aisha!"
Taani smiled shaking her ahnd, the girl wasn't so bad and Taani felt comfortable knowing she genuinely wanted to be friends rather than just because of her status. Soon, the teacher entered and the lesson began while Taania nd Aisha chatted, as the latter told her all about the college and it's workings.

A few days later
"Taani, main bol rahi hun, you should try this. It will definitely work."
Taani pouted and sulked. She along with Naina, Taara, Sanskar, Aisha and her boyfriend Neil was sitting in the canteen. Seeing her getting sad day by day, everyone of them was concerned and asked her the reason to which she told that rey was angry on her for something and not talking to her, but not telling the exact reason. Only Naina was aware about that.
He was still not talking to her, but caring for her the same way, making sure she eats her food, embracing her at night knowing she can't sleep without it, trying to support her silently in her college affairs and everything else. But he wasn't being touchy, he wasn't loving her, he wasn't talking to her and it was pissing her off now. She was literally behaving like a pregnant woman on her mood swings.
Right now, everyone was giving her suggestions on how to pacify Rey, ideas that literally drove her mad. She huffed saying,
"Chup karo sab, Aishu, main nahi kar sakti ye. Matlab...Main kese...."
Sanskar rolled his eyes saying,
"Ohho bhabhi, aapko konsa sach mein kisi ladke ko patana hai, aapko to bas bhai ke samne act karna ha."
Taani furrowed her brows and said,
"Sanskar, Reyansh is your brother, apni bhabhi ko kisi or se flirt karne ko bol rahe ho. Hu!"
All giggled as she cringed when Taara said,
"Offo bhabhi, hum aapko flirt nahi, fake flirt karne ko bol rahe hain. Bhabhi, aapko pata hai na, ladke kitni jaldi jealous hote hain. Pakka jese hi bhai aapko kisi or ke sath dekhenge, baat karne se rok nahi payenge."
Taani was slowly getting convinced when Sanskar said,
"Sahi kaha, or bhabhi ye to Singhania man ki baat ho rahi hai, main to khud ek hu. Trust me, jealousy to koot koot ke bhari hain humare ghar ke ladko mein."
All of them giggled as Naina and Taara high-fived when Taara said,
"Haan, iski gurantee to main deti hu."
Sanskar poked his tongue at her when Taani said,
"Ok ok, but main flirt kisse karungi?"
This tiem Naina was the one to jump immediately,
"I know someone..."
They all looked at her waiting for her to continue when she turned her gaze to Neil, soon everybody started lookinga t him who squirmed at his place,
"Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Aisha jumped immediately clapping her hands,
"Oh, ye mere dimaag mein pehle kyu nahi aaya. Babyyyyyy...Help Taani na please, usse bas nakli flirt karna hai."
All looked at her like she had grown two heads, she asked shrugging,
"What?"
Taani said, "He is your boyfriend, still you are asking him to flirt with me?"
Aisha shrugged nonchalantly,
"Oh common babe, I know I have no danger from you, you have got the hottest and sexiest man on earth in wedlock. Why should I need to be scared? In fact kaash main teri jagah hoti."
All chuckled at her while Neil narrowed his eyes huffing,
"Main abhi bhi yahin hu."
She shrugged, "So what? Now common na, help us. Tum agar flirt karoge to hume ye tension bhi nahi hogi ki kisi or ne Taani ki flirting seriously leli. Please please!"
Saying that all started giving puppy faces to him minus Taani who herself wasn't sure. Soon, the both of them said,
"Fine!"
The others cheered while Neil and Taani silently prayed that all goes well. Soon, Naina's phone rang and she shushed everyone,
"Ji bhai?"
"Okay bhai. We are coming."
She cut the call and looked at everyone,
"Bhai is here. Is everyone ready?"
Taani and Neil nodded while the others cheered excitedly. Sanskar kept his hand forward and all put theirs above him doing a team cheer, before they started walking out to execute their plan. Taani huffed thinking as she followed them,
Here goes nothing!
