"Hmm..." you grumbled, looking at the two green scarves on your bed.
One was handmade, a bit scuffed with a small stitched heart with an A at one of the ends, but otherwise well-made.
The other you bought from one of Albert's favorite shops with their emblem on one of the ends.
"Ah....!" you groaned, scratching your head, "Maybe giving him the store-bought one's the safest option..." you muttered, picking up the scarf.
"(Y/N)?" Albert knocked on the door, surprising you.
"J-Just a minute!" you hollered, quickly hiding the scarves in your dresser and rushing to the door.
You took a deep breath and fixed your hair, opening the door and smiling at Albert.
"Yes?" you asked, making the man raise a brow, "May I enter our shared bedroom?" he teased, making you open the door.
"Y-Yeah, right! Of course," you nervously laughed, making Albert chuckle as he walked inside.
"Is there something you want to share with me?" he asked with a knowing smile.
"Nope, nothing really," you answered with a matching smile, making him roll his eyes.
"You know the rules, mister," you reminded, flicking his hair, "Opening gifts are reserved for your actual birthday. Besides, you can wait until tomorrow, can't you?"
"Hm... Can I at least get a hint?"
"Nope," you shook your head, "There's no point in a surprise if you guess it,"
"(Y/N)," William knocked on the door, "May I have a word with you in my office?"
"I'll be right there," you replied before turning to Albert, "No snooping around before I get back, okay?" you reminded, making the man raise his hands.
"You wanted to talk, William?" you asked, entering his office.
"Well... Not exactly," he apologetically answered as he looked at his watch, making you raise a brow.
"Albert made me call you out here for a few minutes," he admitted, making you widen your eyes.
"ALBERT!" you shouted, sprinting back to your room.
When you arrived, you saw Albert trying your handmade scarf.
"H-How did you find it so fast!?"
"I may have also asked William where you would hide my gift," he confessed, making you sigh.
"Did you make this for me?" you tightened your jaw as you looked away.
"Well, you always knit things for me. I thought I would return the favor,"
Albert breathed out a smile as he looked at himself in the mirror.
"I was actually going to give you this tomorrow," you took out the bought scarf, giving it to Albert.
"I think I'll keep this one..." he took the scarf from your hands and wrapped it around your neck, "...and you can have that one. This way, we can match,"
You covered your mouth, trying hard not to smile as Albert kissed the top of your head.
"You're such an idiot sometimes, you know?"
"But I'm you're idiot,"

"(Y/N),"
"Louis,"
"I know you wish to make my brother's birthday celebration special. However..." Louis looked over to the buffet table where Sherlock and John were talking, "...Did you truly need to invite him?"
"Yes, Louis," you confirmed with a smile, making him sigh in disappointment.
"Oh, come on, Lou! It's not that bad," you reassured, holding both of his hands, "Besides, I'm sure Will would love having Sherl and the others all together for his birthday,"
"I guess that's true..." Louis muttered, glancing over the great detective.
"(N/N)!" Sherlock called, putting an arm around your shoulder, "Do every dish you have here have fish in it?" he asked, pulling out a cigarette.
"Yep, pretty much," you shrugged, "Will likes them. Especially stargazy pie," Sherlock hummed in response, looking around the garden.
You rolled your eyes as you pulled him down, cupping your lips to his ear.
"Don't worry," you whispered to him,
"I prepared some ordinary dishes and snacks too. They should be ready after a few minutes," you reassured, making Sherlock smile.
"Nice work," he complimented as he messed your hair, "Mind if I step out for a drag?" he asked, showing you a lightened cigarette.
"Sure! Just don't catch anything on fire," you reassured as the man walked away, and Louis glared at him.
"Easy now..." you whispered, trying to calm him down.
"I better make sure he doesn't do anything outlandish," Louis adjusted his glasses as he followed Sherlock, making you sigh.
"I'll go keep an eye on them," John placed a hand on your shoulder with a smile, "You go and do what you're supposed to,"
"You're a saint, John," you joked with a tired sigh, making your rounds and double-checking everything.
"Great...! That should be everything," you muttered, going over your checklist.
"The party looks great, (Y/N)!" James complimented, making you smile.
"Thanks. I just hope Will likes it,"
"Of course, he would," Sebastian grumbled, "Hell, even if you just greeted him, he'll be thrilled,"
You playfully scoffed at him as you went through your list one last time.
"Now, to go pick up Will," you smiled as you rushed to the front gates, seeing his carriage approaching.
As William walked out, you quickly rushed up to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"I missed you too," he chuckled, kissing your forehead, hugging him tightly.
"Happy birthday," you grinned as you grabbed his hand.
"Come on! I want to show you something!"
"I hope I didn't make our guests wait long," he commented as he followed along, making you stop and look at him.
"You kn- Of course, you knew..." you sighed, rubbing your temple.
"I'm sorry, my love," he apologized as he gave you a kiss, hugging you, "You just looked so excited these few weeks. It was hard to ignore," he added, making you roll your eyes.
"Well, I guess it's more surprising if you haven't figured it out," you muttered, making William chuckle.
"But a party's still a party!" you reassured, grabbing his hand again and pulling him to the gardens.
"But when we arrive, can you at least act surprised?"
"I'll try my best,"

"You think this is good?"
"It looks fantastic, (Y/N)," William reassured, looking at the tray.
On top of the tray was a small vase with daffodils, a plate of full English breakfast with full cutlery, and a cup of English breakfast tea.
"I'm sure Louis will enjoy it,"
You sighed as you rubbed your hands together, a couple of band-aids on your fingers from cooking.
"Shall I help you carry it?"
"No, I can handle it," you reassured, picking up the tray shakily.
"Uh... Actually, can you assist me?"
"Of course,"
"Careful now," William warned as you slowly followed him to Louis' room.
"I... know..." you replied, your eyes fixated on the tray in your hands.
"Open the door for me, please?"
"Of course," William answered as he slowly opened the door, letting you inside.
"Oh, shi-" you tripped on your own feet as William caught you by the waist.
You quickly raised your hands, balancing the food on the tray as it settled down to a halt.
You and William sighed in relief, "Thanks, Will..." you whispered as you carefully stood up.
"Hm..." Louis stirred in his sleep, slowly waking up.
You quickly stood up, slowly making your way to him as William closed the door and left.
"(Y/N)...?" Louis groggily called out as you smiled at him.
"Good morning..." you softly greeted as he sat up.
"...And happy birthday," you slowly set the bed tray on his lap, kissing his cheek.
You saw his cheeks flush pink before he covered his face with his hand.
"I-It's still quite early..." he muttered, clearing his throat.
"Well, it's a whole day, you know?" you chuckled, sitting beside him.
Louis breathed out a smile as he kissed the top of your head.
"Thank you, love... It looks great," he complimented, cutting a piece of the eggs.
You carefully watched as he took a bite, observing his expressions.
"How is it...?" you questioned, your hands growing cold in anticipation.
"It tastes great," he complimented, making you sigh in relief.
"Oh, thank God..." you sighed in relief, covering your face with your hands.
"Yes, you've really improved-" Louis cut himself off as he saw your hands, gently grabbing them.
"Ah, don't worry about it," you pulled his hands to your lips and gently kissed his knuckles, "I'm okay,"
"Starting off early, aren't we?" Sebastian commented at the door with a grinning James beside him.
"Back to work, you two," you waved them off, making Sebastian roll his eyes as James tried to him away.
"Don't you have chores?"
"Finished them this morning," you answered, pushing the door and Sebastian.
"Ugh, you owe me (Y/N),"
"Yeah, yeah..." you strained as you finally closed the door.
"I'm surprised to see Mr. Moran so early," Louis commented, making you lightly laugh.
"Well, I sorta asked him to cover for you today," you explained, making Louis widen his eyes.
"And he agreed?"
"For a hefty price," you sighed, sitting next to Louis,
"But if it means you get a day off, it's fine," you smiled, resting your head on his shoulder.
