"Why won't Jaxy come out of his room, Victor?" Kaila asks, looking at her older brother's room.
"I'm not sure, Kiddo." Victor answers, looking over towards the gym door.
Although Kaila might not be able to hear it, Victor and William are able to hear the cries from the teenager they were supposed to protect.
Kaila nods her head.
She understands what's going on.
She may only be a few years old, but she understands everything that was going on. She just wished these people wouldn't try to shield her from everything.
It didn't work when Jax tried to.
"Jaxy. Please stop. You're hurting yourself." Kaila begs through the mind link.
All she gets back is a feeling as though Jax is giving her a fake smile filled with hope.
Just then, a loud thud is heard from the gym.
Both vampires race into the gym, leaving the door slightly open.
Jax is laying on the ground, literally foaming at the mouth, but passed out.
"Jaxon!" William cries, cradling the boy's head.
Kaila pushes the door open.
Victor looks at her, and his body freezes.
Kaila has foaming saliva.
"It's time." Is all she croaks before passing out as well.
