2nd Person's POV
"Eugh...!" you groaned, covering your mouth as a man let out a puff of smoke in front of you.
You let out a cough as you covered your mouth, your throat getting itchier.
"Care for a try?" a woman asked as she sprayed perfume on you.
"N-No, thank you!" you quickly replied, trying to run up to Louis.
"Louis...!" you coughed, feeling your chest tighten as you choked.
"(Y/N)?" Louis called, looking back at you.
You got into another coughing fit, gasping for air as you held onto your throat and toppled over.
"(Y/N)!" he shouted, rushing to you and making you sit up.
"Relax, okay? Steady your breathing," he encouraged, making you focus on your breathing.
Louis quickly looked around and saw a stack of paper bags on a nearby stand.
"Excuse me," he quickly said as he grabbed one and opened it.
"Here," he muttered, putting the bag over your mouth as you tried to take slower breaths, starting to calm down.
"Thanks..." your grumbled, standing up as Louis aided you.
"What happened?"
"Just my asthma acting up, don't worry about it," you reassured as you cleared your throat.
"Asthma? Since when?"
"Since I was a kid, but it's been pretty fine," your shrugged, walking past him.
"So, what's next? The fruit stand, was it?" you asked, looking around.
"...We should head back," Louis muttered, making you stop and look back at him.
"B-But we haven't finished shopping,"
"I can finish the rest some other time," he reassured, making you bite back a frown.
"...Okay, let's head back,"
You let out a long sigh as you walked into your room.
It's been months since Louis (and everyone else) knew about your illness.
Unfortunately for you, it seemed that it was getting worse, and you were getting more asthma attacks.
Because of this, everyone started to become protective of you, especially Louis.
"That's the second attack this week..." you muttered, scratching the back of your neck.
"Agh...!" you groaned into your hands.
You took a deep breath as you slapped your cheeks.
"Oh, well... No use dwelling on it," you muttered, heading downstairs.
"And you're sure this doctor is genuine, Nii-san?" you heard Louis ask, making you stop on the stairs.
"Positive," William answered, "I checked his research and background. If anyone's going to help (Y/N), it would be him."
'Another doctor!?' you thought in distress, rushing back to your room and locking the door.
"No way... No way..." you shook your head as you headed to your bed, hiding behind the covers as your past medications played in your head.
"...I know you're in there, (Y/N)," Louis sighed, shaking the doorknob of your room while you hid under the covers.
You kept quiet as you hid, pulling the covers over you tightly.
Louis let out a sigh as you heard jingling from the other side.
Your door opened with no resistance, making you close your eyes and not move.
"(Y/N)..." Louis called out, climbing on the bed and pulling off your blankets, revealing you.
"We can't make the doctor wait too long," he reminded, making you groan.
"Don't you want to cure your asthma?"
"The medicines they give me just feel like it just makes things worse..." you grumbled, turning away from the man.
Louis frowned as he moved closer, making you look at him.
"Listen... I know it's difficult for you, but that's why we made sure to get the best doctor. So, can't you at least try?" he coaxed, putting a hand on your forearm.
You furrowed your brows as you looked at him, a hopeful look in his eyes.
You let out a sigh as you sat up, a deadpan look on your face.
"Fine... But just for you guys,"
"Hello, Ms. (L/N)," the doctor smiled as he reached out his hand to you, "I'm Doctor Briner. Nice to meet you,"
"Nice to meet you too," you politely smiled, shaking his hand.
"I understand you're nervous, but don't fret. I assure you everything will be fine," Dr. Briner reassured, taking out a clipboard.
"Now, shall we start with your check-up?" he asked, making you gulp.
You looked over to Louis, who gave you a reassuring smile.
"Ready as I'll ever be," you breathed out with a smile.
"...You want me to smoke?" you asked, looking at the pipe Dr. Briner gave you.
"Yes," he confirmed, writing something on his clipboard,
"Stramonium is only a preventative medicine, but I think it should be a good start," he explained, giving you refills for the pipe.
"Drinking strong coffee is also good. But if you don't like coffee, strong tea could be an option,"
"I see..." you muttered, observing him as he continued to write on his clipboard.
"Hey, doc," you called out, catching his attention.
"Are there like... long-term medicine? Like surgery or something so that I'm finally cured?"
"Unfortunately, there is none," Dr. Briner sadly answered, making you frown.
"However, these medicines should help you improve your health and well-being over time," he reassured, giving you your prescription.
"I see..." you muttered, forcing a sad smile as you read over his note.
"I'll be back in a couple of weeks to check up on you," he smiled as he fixed his things.
"Thank you, Doctor Briner," Louis smiled as he led the man to the door.
You let out a deep sigh as you lay on the couch, staring at your new medication on the table.
"At least it isn't alcohol..." you muttered, trying to keep positive.
"Yes... Your last drinking session with Moran was quite the episode..." Louis sighed, making you lightly laugh.
"I had to smoke tobacco every day since I was a kid, you know? Even had to hold it in as long as I could," you sat up, "And then I hear from William that it's actually bad for you?"
Louis chuckled, "The look on your face was quite the sight,"
You sighed as you lay on the backrest.
"Remember when that one doctor made me try ipecac?" you quipped, making Louis frown.
"You would throw up almost every hour," he reminded, "And you were almost accused of battery against the doctor," he smirked, making you scoff.
"Hey!" you lightly hit his arm, "If you were forced to throw up and be nauseous all the time, wouldn't you be pissed too?"
"I guess so..." he smiled, making you roll your eyes.
"...This medicine," you mumbled, making Louis look at you.
"This time, it will really help me, right?" you sternly asked, looking back at him.
"...I assure you, we made sure that this doctor is true," Louis answered, putting his hand on top of yours.
You hummed in reply, standing up from your seat.
"Well, if it's you guys, I guess I can trust it," you smiled, looking over to the pipe.
"There's no harm in hoping, right?"
