That night, sitting in a hidden van on a roof parking lot, was Iris, watching all the screens around her, waiting patiently, until she heard.

"You're a hard man to get an appointment with, Mr. Edge."

Iris then turned to one screen to find the body camera on The Guardian suit, where she saw Guardian dangling Morgan Edge off of the building.

"Let me go."

"I don't think you want me to do that."

"Okay. What do you want?"

He then placed the man back on his feet.

"You poisoned Lena Luthor."

"No, no, no, no. That doesn't sound like something I would do."

"You get people to do your dirty work for you and then you kill them before they can talk."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Then you'll be happy to know she survived."

"No, actually, I despise her. There's a lot of other people in this city who'd be happy to rid this place of a Luthor. Maybe you wanna dangle one of them over the side of a building before you make an enemy out of me."

But Guardian pulled him over the side of the building again.

"All right, okay. All right, okay. Okay."

And Guardian placed him back on his feet.

"See, that's where you're wrong. I am your enemy, Edge. So, you better tread carefully. Because if anything happens to Lena Luthor, I will find you. And you won't be walking away from that."

He then slammed Edge into his car before running off, leaving a smirk on Iris's lips.

The DEO

Meanwhile, Kara was standing on the balcony of the facility, looking out on the stars when J'onn walked up next to her. "Alex says Lena will wake up soon," He said and she looked at him. "I suggest she does that at CatCo and not at a super secret government organization."

"Yeah," Kara mumbled.

"You did a brave thing back there, risking your identity to save her," J'onn told her.

"Well, it was what needed to be done," Kara said.

"Taking action, as always," J'onn complimented.

"Not always. Reign and the other Worldkillers are still out there. Planning. And I'm just waiting for them to make their next strike. I wish there was something I could do. Anything," Kara ranted.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, Kara. The Worldkillers will come, and when they do, I trust you'll be ready. Right now your job is to protect the people of Earth, be there for your friends, and help your husband," J'onn told her before he looked out at the stars. "This world is a crazy place right now. People are acting, reacting, escalating behaviors. Like what Morgan Edge did to Lena. What our lawmakers are doing, sniping at each other, going round and round in circles. It's not doing any good. It reminds me of Mars before the civil war. But, like my father said then, there is great power in being calm at the center of the storm. A beacon to show the way. Supergirl is here to remind us on Earth about what's best in ourselves. That's what's most important. It's more important than if you ever were to catch another bullet," he then looked back at her for a moment before walking back into the facility, making Kara think to herself.

When Lena woke up, she was in James's office, her legs laid out on his lap on the couch while Iris sat across from them. "What happened?" She asked, immediately sitting up.

"Hey, just take it easy, okay?" James told her as Kara walked up to her, handing her a glass of water.

"I had the strangest dream," Lena groaned, looking up at her blonde friend. "You were flying, and you were carrying me."

"I was?" Kara questioned, softly chuckling. "Like Supergirl? That's...I wish."

"Why do I feel like I've been hit by a truck?" Lena asked but Kara hesitated for a moment, sitting next to Iris.

"Um...you were poisoned," she told her and Lena stared at her shocked.

"It was the coffee," James said and Lena looked at him. "Kara reacted very quickly and the paramedics came and they gave you an antidote. They said you need to rest."

"It was Edge, wasn't it?" Lena asked.

"Yeah."

"Has he been arrested?" Lena asked.

"No. He didn't do it himself, he hired a hit man. And now that hit man is dead," James told her.

"So, Edge is gonna get away scot-free again?" Lena asked.

"For now," Iris told her.

"You know, Reign was right," Lena said as she got up from the couch and the three eyed her. "Scumbags like Edge need to be put down, okay? He wants a war, then he's got one. I'm the only one who can protect myself."

"Lena, no," Iris said as she got up from the couch. "You are not a killer."

"Yeah, Iris? Maybe you don't know what I am," Lena said.

"Well, hey, I know you," James said, standing up as well as Kara. "You're not thinking clearly right now, okay? We're not out of options. We have a lead, okay? We weren't able to find any fragment of the bullet, no exit wound, no shrapnel, nothing, no casings."

"So, it just vanished?" Kara questioned.

"Yeah, it was weird," Iris said.

"It was some really weird futuristic technology," James said before looking back at Lena. "But if we can find out who can manufacture a bullet like that, we can find the shooter."

"Lena, I give you my word, Edge will not get away with this again," Kara swore and Lena hesitantly nodded.

"Okay," she mumbled. "I feel better," and Iris and Kara smiled before Lena fell into the warmth arms of James.

———

Later on that night, Lena walked into the facility from the fancy elevator, with a long look on her face. When she walked out, Kara and Iris walked by at the same time, immediately noticing the look on her. "Are you okay?" Kara asked.

"Yeah, there's something, I-"

"Hey, Kara, Iris, Lena," and the three looked ahead of them to see Alex and Sam had walked up to them. "Can we talk?"

Sitting in James's office, Kara, Iris, and Lena sat on a couch across from Alex and Sam, the three completely shocked to hear what was happening to Sam. "Sam, I'm so sorry you've been going through this," Kara said.

"I wish you'd have come to us sooner. You shouldn't have had to go through this alone," Lena said.

"I know. I'm sorry I didn't. I...I've always had to take care of myself, you know, and, I guess I was just afraid that if I let you in, you know, let myself feel vulnerable, I would completely fall apart," Sam admitted.

"Yeah, but falling apart is okay," Kara told her. "Cause you'd have us to pick up the pieces."

"Yes, if it were just me, then that would be one thing, but it's not," Sam said and they looked at her slightly confused. "When Ruby was first born, the nurse handed her to me in the hospital and she wrapped her tiny hand around my finger, and I just stared at her in awe. And I swore that I would always protect her, no matter what. So, my greatest fear...is that something will happen to me and I won't be around to protect her. All Ruby has is me. So, if I'm not here...if I'm not around, then what will happen to her? I'm scared."

"But we're your family. And we're Ruby's family as well," Iris told her.

"And that little girl has got the fiercest mama on the planet," Lena said with a big smile.

"And you got to remember you're not alone," Kara said.

"You have no idea what that means to me," Sam said.

"Well, good, because all we have to focus on now is getting you better," Kara said and Sam smiled at her.

———

After Sam and Alex left, and Kara went to go visit Barry, Iris slowly walked onto James's office balcony where she found Lena staring out on the stars. "Lena?" She questioned and the dark haired looked back at Iris's curious eyes. "Why did you look so upset earlier? What did you want to tell Kara and I, what's going on?"

Lena stared at her for a moment, walking into the office, before saying, "I tried to kill Edge," and like she expected, Iris was shocked.

"What? When?" Iris asked.

"After he poisoned the children and tried to frame me. I went to his office with a loaded gun and the intent to kill. Only reason he's still alive is he outsmarted me," Lena explained.

"Oh. Okay, okay. Well, the good news is you didn't," Iris said as Lena sat down on the couch.

"My mother is back," She added and by this, Iris sat down on the couch across from her.

"Lillian," she muttered.

"She manufactured the disintegrating bullets. I just saw her. And as darkly twisted as Lillian is, she made me realize two things about myself. One, I very well may be a killer," Lena explained.

"No, you're not a killer," Iris said.

"No, not as yet. But I do have the emotional range of Medea," Lena said and Iris snickered a little.

"And what's number two?" She asked.

"I'm smart. Cunning. Strategic. I think steps ahead of most people," Lena answered.

"And you needed your mother to remind you of that?" Iris asked. "Lena, come on, you're a chess prodigy, I've seen your trophies."

"You know, I always confuse my cunning and my emotional insecurity, and thought of it all as something to be suppressed. And then, when I saw Lillian, I had an epiphany. I can separate the two parts. My mother is gonna try and kill Edge. She's gonna do it tonight. I have an idea about how she'll do it, but I don't have the full picture. And if we're gonna save him, I'm gonna need to use my wit and I'm gonna need your help," Lena explained and Iris smiled.

"You got it," she said before they both turned to the tv to find Morgan Edge on it, being interviewed at the gala.

"Of course I'm happy to be here, Simon. I donated $10 million to the Parks department so our beautiful city could have more trees. After all, who doesn't like a little more oxygen, huh? Good to see ya."

Lena smiled to herself when she saw the badge around his neck before looking at Iris. "Bingo," she said.

2019 National City Parks Conservatory Gala

Iris and Lena walked into the gala together, Lena wearing an off the shoulder dress while Iris wore a mini black dress, both of them confidence in their eyes.

"Any sign of him?" Iris asked, as the two searched for Morgan Edge in the crowds.

"I don't know. Look for the shiniest red dress, and I'm sure you'll find the mouth-breather Edge behind it," Lena said right before Iris spotted Edge talking to a woman.

"Well, you were almost right. Shiny red lipstick," Iris said but then they both saw a security guard standing a couple feet before Edge.

"I should have known about the ear piece," Lena said.

"It's okay. I'll handle him," Iris told her but Lena stared at her confused. "I'm crafty," she then walked up to the security man with a huge smile while Lena sneaked off around them. "Hi. I'm Iris West, CatCo Worldwide. I just have a few questions for Mr. Edge, so I'll just-" she tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her arm.

"Not so fast, sweetheart," he said and Iris looked annoyed.

"I wouldn't have done that if I were you," she said.

"Why-"

Suddenly, he was swooshed down to the ground by a blue and red blur. Iris smiled to herself before a Kara Danvers walked up to her, wearing a dark navy dress. "Don't grab women, sweetheart," Kara told him before the two walked off together, hiding by a bush as they watched Lena talk to Edge.

Lena walked up to the table Edge was at, finding he was trying to impress the woman he was talking to. "I've got two pools and a very large hot tub," he told her.

"You know, you really should be careful of standing water," Lena said and the two looked at him. "It's usually riddled with disease."

"I'll catch up with you later," Edge told the woman, who walked off, before looking at Lena again. "How in the hell did you get past my security?"

"I don't know, it's almost as easy as poisoning a cup of coffee. That was low, even for you. At least crashing a plane had a certain kind of elaborate elegance, but poisoning?" Lena questioned. "That's just a coward's method."

"No idea what you're talking about," Edge said.

"Yeah. You know, I thought you'd say that. So," Lena said before she pulled out a recorder from her clutch.

"What is that, some sort of a weapon? A bomb? You gonna try to kill me in public?" Edge asked.

"No. I'm actually here to save you," Lena said.

"From who, yourself?" Edge asked.

"My mother," Lena answered but Edge looked confused. "She's the one that hacked into your car and she's gonna try and kill you tonight, unless I stop her."

"Lillian Luthor," Edge said with a smile. "The world's most wanted terrorist came out of hiding to kill Morgan Edge? I'm impressed. But why?"

"Because you screwed with her daughter," Lena told him.

Right then, everyone's attention was pulled towards the skies when a firework show began, possibly pulling their attention away, to be distracted when Lillian kills Edge.

"My mother will kill you tonight unless you give me a confession."

"I have nothing to confess to," Edge said.

"Such a small thing for your life. I mean, granted, you will spend the rest of it in prison, but let's not sweat the details," Lena said, a small smile striking her lips.

She then pressed record on the device before looking back in the sky to see a red light, heading right there way.

"That drone is programmed to kill you," she then looked back at him. "Tick-tock."

"You're insane, you know that?" Edge asked.

"Admit you tried to kill me," Lena said.

Right then, the drone came for them, recognizing Edge's badge and began shooting at him. But he ducked down, as well as anyone in the area. Edge ran behind one of his security men, but the drone killed him. "What do I pay you guys for?" Edge asked before he continued to run off.

But when he ran behind a corner, Kara was there. When the drone laser came his way, she used her freeze breath against it, causing an explosion that blasted him back.

He landed against a table, and when he sat up, he saw Lena had walked up to him, holding the recorder. "Ready to confess?" She asked.

He got up, facing her, right as the drone floated behind her. "Okay. I did it. All of it. The lead poisoning, I tried to kill you. I tried to cover my tracks. Just call that thing off," he admitted and Lena smiled.

She reached over and pulled the badge off of him before she threw it at the drone, which shot it up, and flew off. When she turned around, she found Edge was holding some kind of blade in his hand.

"Give me the tape. Now!"

"Why didn't you let me kill him?"

Lena turned around to find her mother had walked up behind them. "I found another way," Lena said.

"There is no other way. You're a Luthor, you should be proud of it," Lillian said before a drone glowing green came up behind her.

The suit completely covered her body, revealing it to be the Lexosuit, and Lena stared at her shocked. "You're three steps ahead? I'm four."

The mask covered her face but then Supergirl landed right next to Lena, staring at the Lexosuit annoyed. "Suit's a bit much, don't you think?" She asked.

"Says the girl in the cape," Lillian said.

The DEO

When Winn saw the suit on the screens, he quickly got up from his seat and stood next to Alex. "Holy crap, is that the Lexosuit? That is awesome!" He exclaimed happily but when he looked at Alex's dead annoyed look, his smile dropped. "It's gonna be awesome...when Supergirl freakin destroys that thing. Because, you know, that is dangerous."

"Tell J'onn to assemble the strike team, I'm getting down there," Alex said, about to turn around but Mon-El quickly ran down the steps.

"There isn't time. Not to still treat her like a damsel in distress, but Iris is there," Mon said and Winn quickly got back to his seat. "Hack the drone she used to fire on Edge. On my mark, we'll use it against her."

"Got it," Winn called out as Mon continued his way through the facility.
