It's been a few days since me and Michael went on our movie date. I laid on my bed and kicked my feet in the air, browsing through magazines. Music from my record player and the birds chirping outside brought me a sense of relaxation. My dad knocked on the door before entering "Hey kiddo I brought you a snack" he set the plate of mixed fruit, "Thanks dad" I sat up and grabbed an orange slice. "So you and Michael are dating?" he chuckles as he grabs a blueberry. I felt my face heat up "W-what! we are just friends. Besides he's already got a crush" I exclaimed throwing a blueberry in the air and catching it with my mouth.
"If you say so" he shrugged grabbing an apple slice and walking out of the room. "Me and Michael dating?" I raised an eyebrow thinking how that would even work. I mean I just got him to be friends with me so there's no way he'd look at me that way. I laugh at the thought of Michael and me dating. "Y/n Michael is here!" "Speaking of the devil" I sighed getting up from the comfort of my bed and walked downstairs. Michael and his friends were at the door holding a pair of swim shorts. "What's up guys" My dad steps aside and heads to the kitchen allowing us some privacy. "Hey we are just heading to the lake wanna come?" "Yeah sure one sec!" I hurried up the stairs and looked through my dresser grabbing my swimsuit and a towel.
I rushed back downstairs saying goodbye to my dad as I left with the boys. "So y/n how long have you've been here?" mark asks me "Oh uh almost a month now?" I shift my gaze between the boys who were smirking and smiling. I stayed close with Michael since I was more comfortable with him. We walked for a couple of minutes within a field of tall wheat and grass, then entering among trees and side walks. "Have you've guys been here?" I ask breaking the silence between us "We always come here every week" Jeremy added watching the other two boys argue with each other.
We came close to the lake and find a spot to sit at. "Alright i'm going in" Richard takes off his shirt revealing his toned body. I couldn't help but stare and he noticed and winked at me. Michael noticed this and turned my head around with his hand on my chin "Wanna dance?" "Huh?" he goes over to the radio and hits play and Take my breathe away by Berlin begins playing "Oh heck yeah! This is my favorite song!" I get up from the grass as we go into the middle of the spacious area between the dirt side walk and the green mossy water. We held hands as we swayed back and forth to the rythm. "Disgusting!" one of the boys shouted and I rolled my eyes jokingly.
3rd person POV
Y/n's hair flowed along with the air as she spun and swayed with Michael. He could not take her eyes off of her movements, her facial expressions. Everything about them was absolutely perfect in his eyes. Everyday, his love for her only seemed to grow bigger. The boys grew jealously that Michael already head over heels for this girl. They could see the way he looked at her. There was absolutely no way now that anyone would try anything to take her away from him. Little did they know, that Richard was willing to do so. He hated how much time he spent with her. He wanted to be in his shoes just to get a taste of how it really is to be Y/n's best mate.
He clenched his fists seeing Y/n smile and giggle as they danced to the slow song. He swam further into the lake figuring out how he was even going to be able to make Y/n fall for him. He floated on his back starring at the clouds. Once the song ended Material Girl by Madonna started playing. Y/n cheerfully began jumping and singing the lyrics with her pretend microphone. The boys laughed at her behavior.
Y/n's POV
The song finished and I let out a sigh, feeling out of air from singing. The beads of sweat formed from my forehead making my hair a bit greasy and my face shimmer from the sunlight. "Alright, where can I change?" Michael pointed to a small shack that read "Restrooms"
"Thanks" I grabbed my swimsuit that was folded on the grass and made my way over to the restrooms. I entered a stall and made sure it locked. I pulled down my clothing down and pulled up my swimsuit making sure it was on me perfectly. I folded my previous worn clothing and made my way out.
The boys turned heads as I laid my clothing on a log. I took off my shoes, and Michael and the rest of the boys were already in the lake. "You got yourself a good one" Jeremy whispered to Michael just enough for only him to hear. Michael's face turned red. I looked around spotting a tied rope from a tree. I rushed over to it and tugged it a couple of times making sure it was safe. "Go Y/n!" Jeremy shouted. I smiled and swung. My feet were in the air and once I reached the edge of the lake, I allowed my hands to let go and landed in the cold water.
It wasn't freezing cold, It was rather refreshing from the heat. I came up to the surface and wiped my eyes from the water as the boys laughed. I laughed along. I swam up to them "Hey let's play that one chicken game!" we all agreed as we picked partners "Hey y/n wanna team up?" Richard came up to me "Oh sure" Michael glared at Richard "Alright you going in Jeremy" "I'll wait till the next round" he swam off a couple of feet to avoid being squished. Richard swam underneath me and pulled my legs over his shoulders. Michael clenched his fists. "Hey you good bro?" Mark slapped Michael's back gently "Yeah let's just
get this over with"
Michael's POV
Of course. There was absolutely no way that he would stay away from her. I picked Mark up, putting him over my shoulders. "Alright everyone ready?" Jeremy shouted and we all nodded. Me and Richard glared at each other. He moved his hands up and down her thighs slowly. I hate him even more now. He's touching her without HER consent. "Uh rich can you not-" "ALRIGHT FIGHT!" we both walked towards the middle as y/n and mark tried pushing each other off. "She's mine" Richard mouthed. I kicked his stomach making him and Y/n fall in the water. "WINNER IS MARK AND MICHAEL!" "HAHA! Alright
Michael!" Mark clapped my hand.
3rd person POV
Y/n came up to the surface coughing out water before being dragged back into the water. Richard had pulled her down, she opened her eyes and saw Richard moving her hands up her waist and cupping her face almost laying his lips onto hers. She was then pulled back up the surface by Michael. "Are you okay?" Y/n coughed again "Peachy"she slightly smiled. Richard came up for air with a grin on his face. She no longer felt comfortable with him around. She took a gulp and turned away from the boys direction. Michael noticed her growing tense and uncomfortable. "What did you to her?" Michael clenched his fists
"Nothing at all" he raised his hands defensively. "Liar!" Before Michael could charge at Richard, Y/n placed her hands on his chest "Let's just go mike" she mumbled. She felt gross being touched by him. She didn't like it one bit. She just wanted to be away from him. "When I see you again.. you're done for" His ocean eyes became darker as they were filled with hatred for the chestnut haired boy. He wanted nothing but to kill him for what he had done. To ruin the fun for her. For everyone.
Y/n and Michael swam back to the surface. Michael got out grabbing a towel and wrapping it around Y/n. "Thanks mike" she mumbled loud enough for him to hear "no problem" he grabbed their clothing as they made their way back to the bathrooms to dry themselves off and change.
"He didn't try anything did he?" "He.." she took a moment comprehending what happened. Some boys were difficult. They were perverts and had nothing but a disgusting mind and couldn't control themselves. Richard Peterson was one of those boys. "He was going to kiss me" she trembled a bit from the cold. She was only glad Michael was there in time before it had happened. "I'll kill him if he lays a hand on you again. If he does tell me" Michael's voice was firm. He was determined to rip his body apart. Y/n smiled slightly. They made their way into the stalls drying themselves up and changing into their previous dry clothing.
They made their way out and walked to the other side of the lake. Away from the boys. Y/n shook her mind off of what had just happened. She didn't want to let him ruin her whole day. They sat on the grass looking out at the sunset as it reflected on the lake. A duck with different shades of browns swam across along with 5 yellow ducks. They quaked as they saw Y/n and Michael. "Cute" Michael admired the small fluffy animals. "You like ducks?" Y/n held her knees close to her chest "Who doesn't" Michael leaned back as his hands were intertwined with the green grass.
"My brother is having a birthday party at the Diner." "I've heard" Michael sat up from his position slouching a bit. He looked over at y/n who shivered a bit. "Are you okay?" "Yeah i'm fine" Michael scooted close to y/n making sure she wasn't uncomfortable. She picked up her head and stared into the boys eyes. "If anyone hurts you, just know i'll be there to protect you. I'm here for you" he smiled and she couldn't help but return that smile "Same here mikey" she let out a sigh and leaned her head on Michael's shoulder. Michael felt a bit bold today. He wrapped his arm around her pulling her close to his chest.
They both admired the sunset, filled with blue, pink, and orange. Y/n felt safe with him. As he did with her. They both were perfect for each other and they were just discovering it. Michael kissed Y/n's head which brought comfort and softness in her heart. She smiled and closed her eyes. She loved the warm feeling in her heart and the warm heat she was receiving from Michael's body heat. Michael's cheeks was nothing but red over his sun kissed skin.
They took a moment to cherish this moment forever. They watched as the sunset hid behind the hills indicating it was time to go. "I should take you home before it gets too cold" Michael added "I'm warm enough here" Y/n let out a chuckle. "As much as I love your company I can't have you getting sick." "Wanna stay for dinner then?" "Sure" he ruffled her wet hair as they both stood up from their position, making their way back to y/n's house.
