[2 Months Later]

Olive and Allison stepped off the plane and sighed, happy to be back in California. Their parents walked behind them as they got their baggage and piled into their cab just as the sun was beginning to set.

"You're gonna love this new building, girls, it is so beautiful," Susan said, looking out the window. "We had all of our stuff moved while we were away so we can start getting settled right away!"

"Do you also think it's super weird that our parents are roomies now?" Allison whispered, almost inaudibly, but Olly picked up on it and nodded her head, staring at her out of the corner of her eye and smiling. Allison mimicked her gaze and the two started laughing hysterically.

"Are you two doing the werewolf hearing thing again?" Chris looked at them through the rearview mirror, which only made the girls laugh harder.

They pulled up to the apartment building, which was indeed gorgeous, and brought all of their bags inside. Olive went into her room, which had been slightly unpacked, and dropped her bags in the corner. It was smaller than her last room, but since more people were living here she expected that. Her bed was already set up and all she had to do was unpack and decorate.

"Already thinking about getting to work?" Her mother said, leaning on her doorway. Olive turned around, nodding with a smile on her face.

"There's a few people I have to see first," She bit back the larger grin that was making its way onto her face as her mother sighed.

"You know what we talked about-"

"I know, mom. If we wanna stay in Beacon Hills we have to stay as out of the supernatural stuff as we can," Olive rolled her eyes, sighing as she flopped onto her unmade bed. Susan sat at her feet and placed a hand on her leg.

"I know you're probably gonna take this whole supernatural cleanse the hardest," Olive narrowed her eyes at her mother, who just shook her head.

"Really? It's not like I'm a werewolf- or part of a pack- or-" Her mother held her hand out and Olive stopped, rolling her eyes.

"I know how dangerous it is for Omegas, which is the only reason we agreed to let you stay in the pack, but you promised us no supernatural funny business," Olive nodded.

"I said I'd try, which is hard because everything seems to want to kill us now and-"

"But you're gonna be seventeen, you shouldn't have to deal with that right now."

"I know, I know," Olive sighed and sat up. "I promise to try my best to stay out of it."

"Okay," Susan patted the side of the bed and stood up, walking back to the doorway. "Now go see your pack."

Olive grinned as she put her shoes back on, grabbing her keys and all but running out of her room and out the front door.

She drove as fast as she safely could to Derek's, happy to finally be back with her pack. She pulled into the parking garage beneath the loft, suddenly nervous to see a certain face. She shook it off and walked up the copious amount of stairs that lead to the loft.

"Knock knock," Olive said as she slid the door to the loft open. Derek looked up at her with a smile as she ran inside, hugging him tightly. He let her go and the two pulled away, Olive's brows furrowing when she didn't see any of her pack members, only Peter sitting at the table.

"Where is everyone?" She turned to Derek whose face immediately fell.

"Did he not tell you?" Derek tilted his head slightly and Olive rolled her eyes.

"I swear Isaac needs to stop-"

"No, Olly, I'm being serious, did he actually not tell you?" Her face dropped as she looked between the two Hales in front of her, shaking her head. Peter scoffed and stood up, approaching the two.

"There's a bunch of alphas we have been chasing all summer who are trying to induct Derek into their freaky little pack, but to do so he'd have to kill his own, including you. They took Erica and Boyd the night of your big lacrosse game and Isaac has been missing since last night," He turned to Derek with furrowed eyebrows. "Did I miss anything?"

Olive's eyes widened as she met Derek's gaze, who just nodded his head. She searched her brain for literally any word she could muster but they'd all left. She shook her head and backed up slightly.

"What did you say about Isaac?" She looked to Peter who rolled his eyes.

"Is that seriously all you got out of that entire explanation?" Olive glared at him, her eyes flashing yellow. Peter narrowed his own at her before sighing. "He was following a lead and he didn't check in or come back last night. We've been out looking for him all morning but no sign."

"Well, what's the plan?" She looked between them, fear in her eyes.

"We wait for him to show up," Peter said nonchalantly and Olive glared at him. "Or his body to-"

"Okay you can stop talking," She pointed at him and he backed up, biting back a grin. "Derek, what's your plan?"

"I have contacts at the hospital that are going to call me if he shows up. Your plan is to go to school and not interfere," He rose an eyebrow at her and she shook her head.

"I'm not following."

"Your mom already called me before you landed. No supernatural stuff-"

"I think this warrants breaking that rule," Olive folded her arms and Derek shook his head.

"No, it doesn't. Olly, I need you here and if that means I have to bench you then consider yourself benched. We got this," Derek gestured between himself and Peter and Olive knitted her eyebrows together.

"You're gonna trust him to find Isaac over me?" Her voice cracked slightly and Derek's face softened, pulling her into a hug.

"We'll find him, Olly. Then you two can talk because he has not shut up about it all summer," Olive laughed against his chest and Derek sighed. "We'll find him."

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

After a bit, she left the loft, making her way home despondently. She tapped her fingers nervously on the steering wheel as she came up to a red light, looking down at her phone as it started ringing.

"Olly!" Stiles yelled excitedly over the phone.

"Stiles!" She mimicked his tone and laughed slightly.

"Why didn't you tell me you were home?"

"I just landed a few hours ago, Derek's was the first place I went."

"Obviously. Did you and Isaac finally..." He trailed off at the end of his sentence suggestively and Olive rolled her eyes.

"No, he uh- he wasn't there," She opted out of telling him because she knew Scott was trying to better himself all summer and she didn't want to get either of them involved.

"Really? Bummer. Well I would offer for you to come over and catch up but I'm driving Scott to get a tattoo," Stiles deadpanned and Olive knitted her brows together.

"Really? Scott?"

"Hey! Why do you sound so surprised?" Scott said, slightly offended.

"Sorry, I didn't know you could hear me," She and Stiles shared a laugh while Scott scoffed, Olive could practically hear his eyes roll from over the phone.

"I can always hear you," Scott Olive rolled her eyes

"Alright well, we're pulling in so I'm gonna hang up, get home safe," Stiles mumbled as he took the phone off the speaker, Olive smiled, nodding as she pulled into the parking lot.

"Just did. Have fun," She says and Stiles laughs sarcastically before saying goodbye and hanging up. Olive walks back upstairs and into her apartment. She is greeted by Chris and Susan sitting on the couch, laughing and drinking wine.

"Are you guys drinking wine?" She says, a suspicious smile on her face.

"Yes, we were waiting for you to get here before breaking out the hard stuff," Chris tilts his glass at her as she rolls her eyes.

"Yeah, well lucky for you I can't get drunk, so.." She trails off, a small exhale leaving her nose.

"How did it go? Did you guys-"

"He wasn't there," Olive said a little too quickly. She sighed, shifting on her feet. "He's-He's missing so, I don't know if we're going to be able to talk anytime soon-"

"What?" Susan set her glass down, sitting up slightly.

"He um- he was doing something for Derek last night and he never came home. They're doing everything they can," Olive nodded, staring at her shoes. The room fell silent and Olive turned to both of them before sighing. "I have school tomorrow and I'm tired, so I'm gonna go to bed. Feel free to continue, whatever that was."

Olive turned awkwardly, going back to her room and groaning at the boxes upon boxes in her way. She changed into some pajamas and looked around, hands on her hips. She shook her head, turning toward her bed and getting ready to get in it before looking back at the boxes.

"One can't hurt, right?" She picked up a box and opened it, taking out everything inside and putting it away. "Okay, that didn't take long, I'll just- I'll just do another one."

She unpacked all of her clothes and then began hanging her posters, 12 boxes later, her room was finished. It was similar to the one at her old house but different. It looked a little more sophisticated. She nodded, sighing as she turned to the clock: 11:30. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!" She turned to see Chris standing there, he walked in hesitantly, looking around the room and smiling.

"Going to bed, huh?" Olive smiled, shaking her head.

"I couldn't sleep."

"Have you heard from Allison? She isn't back yet," He sighed and Olive shook her head.

"No, uh, her cars outside I just thought that-"

"Yeah, Lydia came and picked her up, something about a movie," Olive nodded and Chris fidgeted with his hands.

"I can call her now," Olive picked her phone up off of her nightstand and dialed Allison's number. It rang twice before she answered.

"You will not believe what just happened?"

"Are you okay, Lydia are you okay?" Olive's face twisted as she heard a familiar voice.

"Is that Stiles?" Allison sighed.

"Yes, it's Stiles, and no I didn't do it," Olive laughed slightly, remembering the promise Allison had made her make about not letting her text Scott all summer. "Olly a deer just ran at our car. Like, we didn't hit it by accident, it ran right for us and hit us head-on."

"What the hell?" Olive stood up, looking at Chris who shared her expression. "Are you okay? Do you want me to come get you?"

"Stiles is dropping us off," Allison mumbled and Olive snickered.

"That is going to be the most awkward car ride of the century," Olive said sarcastically and Allison groaned from the other end of the line.

"I'll be home in 20, I'm hanging up on you now," She deadpanned and Olive smiled.

"Get here safely," Chris yelled from the other end of the room before she hung up. Olive turned to him, a satisfied smile on both of their faces.

"Okay, well I'll let you get back to bed," Chris turned around as Olive nodded, climbing into bed. "Your room looks nice, by the way."

"Thank you," Olive grinned as he closed the door, shutting off her light as he did. She settled into bed, sighing as her head hit the pillow. Maybe if she slept she would forget about all of her troubles for those 8 blissful hours of unconsciousness.
