"alright everyone, make sure to stretch out and exercise well. treat each other nicely off the rink okay? and eat properly so you don't feel miserable." their coach clapped rounding up practice as they all thanked him for the practice. stretching her body from side to side, she stared over to the rest of the group.
their active socializing making her feel left out. eyeing the red head japanese boy, she couldn't help but feel a little sad. he was so sweet but even he couldn't stand waiting for her.
she felt so nervous talking to people after what happened with everyone. even though she felt that they were at the wrong, she was the one who isolated herself. and she'd never let herself let go of that. feeling a hand on her shoulder, she turned to the figure who only stared at her with a bored expression.
"what's up choi boy," smiling, he rolled his eyes and flicked her forehead. "you should stop being so lonely. it makes you look more desperate when you're staring at people." tsking she frowned at his choice of words. she'd admit, she was pretty lonely now. only really hanging out with him and her cat whenever she was bored at home.
"i've become more nervous talking to people. it'll make my life here terrible but it's whatever." waving a dismissive hand, she slung her duffel bag over her shoulder. "where you headed?"
shrugging, she pushed him slightly back with one hand. waving a peace sign, she walked out leaving him behind her. feeling his stare linger in the back of her head. feeling satisfied with her dramatic exit, she pulled out her phone to stare at the empty notification center.
not a single person, it was so god damn hard to talk to people. her main group of friends basically letting her know that they could live without her. the world could live without her but she couldn't live without the world.
"how about the coin karaoke down the street?"
"ah but the last time we went there you forced me to dance to cheer up.."
"okay? cry about it."
jealousy was a proper term for what she was feeling right now. maybe she should reach out to people, but it felt so awkward. maybe she was overthinking it. no, she definitely was overthinking it. but who could really blame her for her faulty habits of overthinking every situation.
one wrong move and she could drag herself to hell by the hands of satan. in all clarity, satan was probably more welcoming than whatever the fuck was happening right now.
hitting herself in the head, she felt a light tap on her shoulder. turning her eyes widened as her head seemed to pulse. "cathy, hello." he chirped clearly a bit awkward still. the discomfort that came from him even making eye contact with her made her saddened. gulping, she didn't know what to do. shouldn't she just say something already?
this little pussy would be a great way to describe her. like human like cat or something like that. in all seriousness, she was nervous. like drenched in cold sweat and palms sweaty. "cath?" hearing his voice again snapped her back to reality.
"keiji, is there something you need." the other figure skater quirked up a smile. his tension practically disappearing knowing that she was actually speaking.
"ah, i just wanted to invite you to, a meal. i feel bad whenever you look at everyone else with envy." that frankly, warmed her heart. like the grinch from the grinch and how his heart grew three times. yeah that was what she felt.
maybe she was a little pitiful. if i keep going on this route i'm gonna make cathrine unlikeable. but anyways. she couldn't help but feel a little teary eyed. "uhm yeah, yeah that'd be. nice." feeling herself become giddy again. she couldn't process anything other than he's really asking me. and that's what was making her even consider his invitation. knowing that if anyone else invited her from the group, she would've begun to behave like a petrified chihuahua.
more common than you think. "ah really? i thought you were going to reject since you seem more distant." fidgeting with the ends of his sleeves. he could feel himself become more and more nervous as the topic pushed into territories that could've been slightly uncomfortable. "how about, the little corner barbecue place we used to go to back in the summer." she smiled knowing that he didnt want to stick on the topic for any longer.
seeing his eyes light up practically made her day. maybe their was hope in this miserable trope she was being put through. it was boring but it meant a lot that he was willing to reach out. some plans to get her out of the dorms was soothing to say the least. and she couldn't be more grateful.

hanging out at the lounge area on the rooftop of the dorms. they sat together quietly as if the other didn't exist. no exchange of words could be heard between them. a peace that was hard to achieve without it being awkward after long stretches of time. it was the perfect silence that brought them closer to each other.
finding him distracted with work, he tapped quietly at his laptop keyboard. hastily working away like his life was ending tomorrow. still, he kept himself quiet, his headphones playing soft cafe music as if he was in one. he'd always wondered what it would feel like being in a silent and empty cafe. how peaceful and nice it would be to be alone.
looking over to the female for a few seconds. he felt himself get mentally pulled in by her. she didn't do anything while she was there. all she did was stare at the sky with the stars littering it delicately. those sparkly lights reflected onto hers giving her a galaxy that lived in her brown irises. she was gorgeous. she simply could live and the world would follow her like a dog on a leash. it was like time stopped when you looked at her.
how could you ever feel wrong when looking at her. she was the embodiment of purity. of grace and future. she was the future that he could visibly see with his own two eyes in the present day. man did he feel weird thinking this. was this compassion?
"you know rags, stars are so fragile yet we're given the ability to stare at them like they've always been there to light up the sky. isn't it weird that all stars are lost together?" her comment was strange. her eyes glossy as she looked over to him. their eyes meeting for the first time in awhile. "it reminds me that stars will always be too far away for so long to ever meet another star in its life time." she never spoke like this. but he liked it, it gave him information on her current thoughts. and he was grateful of it.
"he looks just like a dream."
her subtle hum snapped him to reality as she stared up to the sky. "the prettiest boy i've ever seen."
