Walking through CatCo, Lena's phone started ringing so she picked it up, just to be annoyed by the voice on the other line. "Hello?"
"I heard you were attacked by someone who tried to make it look like it was perpetrated by that thing that's leaving those alien marks. That's awful. Awful. I mean, it's Christmas."
"Morgan, you are a vile, despicable scrooge who's gonna die alone and in prison," Lena said, venom in her voice as she walked.
"Well, gotta go. Christmas party." She rolled her eyes when he hung up, but moved on.

Supergirl walked down the steps of the facility, trying to find her husband and friends when her phone started ringing. From James. So she quickly answered it. "James?"
"Someone just tried to heat-vision Edge. He's calling a press conference."
"Is he hurt?" She asked.
"Sadly, no. Of course this guy has a lead-lined panic room in his office. But whatever's out there wants him dead. He just got lucky."
"I'm on it," Supergirl said before she hung up, finding herself standing near the balcony, where Winn, Alex, J'onn, and Barry were walking up to. She looked at them as they stared at her curiously. "The Kryptonian attacked Edge in his office."
"Oh...no? No. No, that's bad. That's objectively bad," Winn said.
"It doesn't matter who the target is, they're just killing whoever they want," Supergirl said.
"We're doing everything we can to track them," J'onn said.
"I'll head to Edge's office, see if they left behind anything I can trace," Alex said.
"No. No, I'm tired of playing hide-and-seek. The longer we wait, the more people are gonna die," Supergirl said as she headed towards the balcony.
"Wait, Kara," Barry called out and she looked back at him. "What are you suggesting?"
"We do it their way," Supergirl said before she flew off.
"Well, thats comforting," Winn muttered while Barry just seemed worried.

Flying up to the building, Supergirl laser heated into the roof, the House of El symbol, before staring off sternly. "Your turn."
———
"Aw, I'm sure that is not the first time that a woman who's gone crazy has attacked a powerful man. I'm fairly certain it won't be the last."
"Are you saying Supergirl attacked you?"
"I'm saying I can't say it wasn't Supergirl."
Inside the building, Lena scoffed and walked off, with James following. "Sociopathic cockroach."
"He'll get what he deserves," James assured. "Guys like him always do."
"You know, today was the second time you saved my life," Lena said as the two entered his office.
"Beginning to be some kind of a hobby. Right place, right time," James said.
"Yeah, well...I owe you a drink," Lena said, walking over to James's liquor table.
"I wouldn't say owe, but I'll take it," James said, following.
When he got over to her, she handed him an almost full glass of scotch, and he stared at it surprised. "That's a heavy pour."
"It's a heavy day," Lena said and James slowly nodded before taking a sip. But she just stared up at him as his eyes never left hers. She suddenly grabbed his tie and pulled him down to her, connecting their lips.
At first he was taken back, but he just deepened it. Until Lena nervously backed off. She stammered a smile but James grabbed her drink, placing hers and his down on the table before pulling her into him, kissing once more.

Meanwhile, Iris stood in the look in room about the training room, seeing Mon and Imra giggle and play fight, just making her feel sorry for herself really. "Iris," she snapped around to find that Alex and Winn had ran in. "The Kryptonian responded."
"How?" Iris asked.
"Just showed up right where Kara left her mark. And waiting for her," Winn said and Iris looked over his shoulder to see her best friend was about to leave.
Immediately, Iris ran out of the room, and towards the balcony, needing to talk to her. "Kara-"
"I have to go," Supergirl sternly said, but Iris turned her around towards her.
"Not like this. Listen to me, please," Iris said and Supergirl sighed, as Barry and Alex walked up to her as well. "I know before Barry came back, you were struggling, and we had been trying to get you to embrace your humanity, but forget that, you hear me? Be cold. Be Kryptonian."
"Yeah, I don't know why, but this thing really scares me. So, please, be alien," Alex begged and Supergirl nodded. She then looked at Barry, who was beyond worried. They just came back from their honeymoon and now a dangerous alien was already threatening their future.
"You beat this Kryptonian. Then come back to me, you got it?" Barry asked.
"I got it," Supergirl said and he nodded before he kissed her.
Streets of National City
Helicopters surrounding CatCo's building, Supergirl flew to the roof of it, meeting the person behind everything. A Kryptonian woman. She was in all black, her brown hair was in some kind of twisted ponytail, and had a black mask covering her identity. "So you're supposed to be the Devil?"
"The Devil isn't real," the woman said.
"Then who are you?" Supergirl asked.
"I'm from the time before fathoming. Born to cleanse the scourge and deliver the awakening. I am Reign," she dramatically introduced.
"How did you get here?" Supergirl asked.
"I survived Krypton's death. Sent here upon its destruction," Reign said.
"If that's true, then where have you been?" Supergirl asked.
"Dispensing justice," Reign answered.
"By terrorizing people? Killing people?" Supergirl asked but Reign smiled.
"This world has sunken into chaos and sin. Too many have eluded judgement," she said.
"I'm not gonna let you hurt anyone else. Surrender now before I make you surrender," Supergirl demanded.
"So full of hubris. Just like the righteous Kryptonians who feared my makers. Worshiping false gods as they watched our planet suffocate by shame and burn for memory. Stand down, or I will make you join them in their purgatory," Reign said.
"I'm not going anywhere," Supergirl said.
"Then I will dispense my justice on you," Reign said.
"Take your best shot," Supergirl said and just like that, Reign flew at her, zooming them across the sky.

During a Christmas party in an office building, Supergirl and Reign suddenly crashed into it, throwing the other around constantly as the people screamed in terror.
As the civilians hid, Supergirl and Reign went back and forth, throwing punches, blocking attacks, grabbing throats, throwing Rein across a table, knocking everything on it off. But once Reign stood up, Supergirl zoomed towards her, and flew up, crashing out of the building.
They zoomed through the skies, punching the other while doing so, before flying over the ocean, and crashing into a ship full of crates. When Supergirl sat up, she saw Reign was trying to push a large crate on top of her. So she held up her arms to block it as they crashed into her.
Reign smiled, floating in the air, thinking she'd done it, but she didn't. Supergirl pushed the crates out of her way before zooming up towards Reign. She grabbed her and flew them right back to the city.
———
While the citizens of National City were just enjoying a night out, a girl noticed Supergirl flying towards them, not realizing who she was with. "Look. Supergirl."
But when Supergirl forced herself to crash into the street with Reign, a car flew up into the air, exploding while people started to run away. And in the crowds was James and Lena, trying to control the crowds. "Get back! Back, get back!"
Supergirl stood and walked over to Reign, forcing her to face her. She then punched her hard across the face. This went on and on, Supergirl punching her bad guy, and it seemed like she might win.
But then Reign punched her right back, causing Supergirl to tumble back. Reign jumped up and punched her in the face, and Supergirl lost her balance, almost falling to the ground. She stumbled on her feet, but saw a girl in the distance, seeing all kinds of people in the distance, just surrounding them. "Get back. Stay back. Stay back-"
Right then, Reign took a hard piece of cement attached to a pole, and slammed it on the back of Supergirl's head. This caused the hero to be knocked down, and when she looked back up, a very large gush of blood was on her head. She felt it flow through her hair, dripping down to the ground. She slightly touched it, and her fingers were full of blood.
But she still managed to stumble to her feet.
She swung around towards Reign, who looked almost emotionless. The villain punched Supergirl right in the chest, but the hero punched right back.
Reign grabbed Supergirl's throat, pulling her up, just to knee her in the stomach. Then she crashed her head into hers, causing more blood to fracture out from underneath her skin. She smirked, seeing the girl look weak, before dropping her to the ground.
Supergirl laid on her back, trying to gain herself up, but Reign stomped her foot into her chest. She then grabbed the pole again, about to smash her brains in, but when she swung, Supergirl zoomed up, blocking the attack with her arm.
She then grabbed the pole out from her arms before throwing it at Reign, which sent her flying across the street. Supergirl climbed up the wrecked street, to find where her enemy was, just to see that Reign was fine.
She was walking back towards Supergirl, dragging a car door that was on fire with her. Supergirl stared at her terrified before Rein threw the door at her.
The door slammed itself into Supergirl's feet, which caused her to flip around in the air, and in doing so, Reign used her laser heat vision, which was red, on Supergirl. This sent the hero flying into the roof of a building.
Supergirl rolled across the roof, very injured and close to death, when Reign landed on the roof, walking up to the hero. "I'm gonna kill you."
Supergirl weakly looked up at her enemy, the side of her head gushing in blood, her mouth full of blood, one of her eyes was completely bruised, and the House of El symbol on her chest was completely burned. "You don't...You don't scare me."
"You're no god...just as I'm no devil," Reign said staring down at her. "All I am is truth," she then pulled Supergirl off the ground, holding her by her uniform. "And judgement," then hovered Supergirl over the roof. "And death. And I will reign."
Death is just a blink of an eye. Because in just a blink of an eye, Reign let her grip on Supergirl go, letting her fall to the ground, to her death.
On the ground, The Flash zoomed into the city, standing among the citizens, but when he was trying to figure out where Supergirl was. He saw her.
Falling, and falling, and falling. But she wasn't stopping herself. Because she was already gone.
"No," he muttered before he began to run. And run. And run. Before she could crash into the ground because this time, there wasn't a Nate Heywood to save her.
But he couldn't save her, just like anyone else he couldn't save. She was gone. In a blink of an eye.
Supergirl crashed into the street, and moments later, The Flash arrived, seeing his wife before him, in a dead-like state. He froze, he couldn't move. The pain was too much that he couldn't move his body.
He only stepped over next to her, taking her in her arms painfully when Alex and the DEO showed up, running to her rescue. "Kara?" But no response. "Kara! Please!"

Immediately rushing her to the alien facility, Supergirl was rolled into the med bay by paramedics led by Alex. Barry followed them in, anxiety and worry written all over him, his heart won't stop pounding til he knew she was okay, this heavy feeling in him won't go away until he knows she's okay. Everything angry and harshly pulsing through him won't go away until she was okay.
But she wasn't. She was dying.
"Her pulse is weak," the paramedic told Alex but immediately afterwards, the machine hooked up to her started beeping. "She's crashing."
"We need to intubate," Alex said before grabbing a tube, and putting into her.
Barry continued to shake, tears wetting his face when Iris, Winn, Mon-El and Imra walked in. But immediately, Iris was already a mess, holding a hand over her mouth, not realizing what damage had been done. "She'll be okay." Iris looked next to her to see Imra staring at her, with assurance in her eyes, but how could she be so sure?
Iris's best friend was dying and she didn't know how she survive. Barry looked back at Iris, and the two held each other, the comfort for the both of them, while they stared at girl on the table. "Stay with me, Kara. Stay with me."
