I was working in my office, when my eyes landed on my watch its almost 6 pm. Since I shifted Hazel to the mansion, I always wait to leave my office and visit her. Just one look at her can relieve all my stress.
But this is wrong, so wrong I have to stay away from her, once I am done killing Simon I have to let go of her. Even she might hate me for killing her brother but I have to kill him.
It took me 10 years, 10 fucking years to get to this position where Simon is in the edge of breaking down, I can't let it slide now.
I focused back on my work I have to leave at 7. My phone vibrated, there was a message. I picked it up to see it was Hazel.
Hazel:
Hey Daddy😈
A light smile spread on my lips.
How will I stay away from you?
Me:
What do you want?
Hazel:

Me:
Hazel stop. I am busy.

I smiled keeping the phone back on the desk I went back to work.
What am I gonna do when you'll leave Hazel? How will I live without you?

When it was 7, finally I was on my way to the mansion like really happy to see her again.
As I went in, the first person I saw was my mother which stopped me instantly.
She smiled at me, I went near her.
I hope she hasn't met Hazel yet.
"Long time since I last saw you." She said hugging me.
"I did visit yesterday but it was late thought you might be sleeping."
She nodded.
"Come with me I have something for you." Saying that she dragged me with her to her room.
I sat on the bed waiting to see whatever she has for me. Suddenly my phone vibrated, taking it out I saw a message from Hazel.

Before I could reply Mom came back to me, I kept the phone back in my pocket. She was holding a dress, a gown-like dress, I stood up from my seat. She showed the dress to me.
"See it's beautiful, isn't it?"
I nodded.
"And who is it for?" I asked.
"Olivia."
I rolled my eyes "Why do you want to give her a dress?"
"What do you mean why? She has been so good to me, she has taken good care of me."
I just shook my head.
"And it's high time I get you a girl." She said staring at the dress with a smile on her lips lost in her thoughts.
"I know Mom you like Olivia a lot but I and her it's not possible. I have never felt anything for her in that way."
"Love can happen even after marriage."
I should've told her about Hazel before but I have to now before she meets her.
"Mom I have something to tell you." I said.
"What?"
"It's all for a reason Mom."
"What is Rafael?"
"I am married."
She gave me a shocked look "Wait, what? You are married? When? And most of all why wasn't I invited in my son's wedding?"
"I married 2 months ago and it was all just for a business deal."
"And you are telling me this now? What is wrong with you? It was Olivia who you were supposed to marry."
"Mom, I already told you I don't like Olivia in that way."
"Who is this girl you married?"
"Her name is Hazel."

I nodded. I wanted to tell her that Hazel is a Cameron but I couldn't. I couldn't tell her. I don't want her to hate Hazel already.
Taking my phone out I showed her Hazel's picture, once she asked me to click when we were on our honeymoon.
"That's her." I said with a smile on my lips as I was seeing the picture.
She scanned the picture "Olivia is more beautiful than her."
"Mom!"
She started laughing "Just look at you, can't take anything against your wife. My Rafael is in love."
"I married her just for a deal that's it. Nothing more."
"Then after your divorce you can marry Olivia."
"I'm not marrying Olivia, Mom."
"You do love her then."
I rolled my eyes "Now I need to leave and you need to rest, you're thinking too much." I hugged her.
"You are now avoiding the conversation."
"Yes I am. Because it is really hard for me to explain things to you. So bye and take care."
With that I left the room.
Maybe tomorrow I can tell her that I married a Cameron, that too the sister of Simon Cameron. But how will I tell her I am in love with her too?
And moreover, how will I tell Hazel about the divorce.
I scoffed "Why would she be sad now to leave me? I will kill her brother she would of course hate me."
Shrugging off all my thoughts I made my way upstairs to Hazel's room. She was doing something on her phone, I knocked. She looked up at me instantly and there plastered a smile on her lips.
I went in and stood at a distance from her bed.
"How's your leg?" I asked.
She nodded "Better."
I nodded. "Did you go down? I mean for a tour of the house?"
She shook her head "No. Maybe some other day."
"Hmm."
Suddenly she moved a little and patted on the seat beside her asking me to sit. I went and sat, what I did not expect was her next step. She wrapped her hands around my arm and rested her head on my shoulder.
"Hazel?" I called but there was no reply.
"Hazel."
Finally she said "I thought you weren't coming today. You weren't even replying to my messages."
"I was talking to someone."
"I have a request Rafael."
I nodded "What request?"
For a minute or two she didn't reply then she spoke "I want to talk to Simon."
I looked down at her, she raised her head sitting back straight on the bed "I cannot do that."
"You can, you are the leader here."
"Why do you want to talk to him?"
"I need to confirm few things that I have been told."
She really doesn't trust me anymore.
"You don't trust me?"
"Trust is earned Rafael and after everything that has happened, I can't trust anyone."
It hurts when she says she can't trust me. What have I done!
"I hope you already have all the instruments with you so that Simon can't track us."
I didn't reply.
I want her to trust me, but a lot of people has betrayed her even her own brother of course she can't trust anyone.
"Rafael?"
"Do you think he'll tell you the truth? No. Hazel, he won't and in the end you'll hate me."
"What do you expect me to do then, the mistake of trusting you blindly again?"
"I won't betray you."
"I don't trust you." These words she said looking directly in my eyes.
I don't know why but this time her words got me angry? From the very first day I accepted the fact that she'll hate me, I knew she would hate me but now when it's coming from her I am unable to bare it.
Getting up from the bed, I picked her up in my arms making my way towards the study. Connor was in the study doing some work.
"Set the call up."
"Whom do you want to call now?" He asked looking all confused.
"Simon Cameron."
"What?" His eyes roamed between Hazel and I then he nodded dialling Simon. I placed Hazel on the chair.
Connor dialled Simon putting the phone on speaker.
"Who's this?" Simon's voice came from the other side.
She didn't reply while he asked again "Who is this?"
"S-Simon." Finally she muttered.
"Haze? How are you?"
"You know everything, how can I be Simon? I just want to know one thing, did you kill Mom?"
For a moment he didn't reply.
"No! What are you even saying Haze? Why would I do that? I loved Mom more than anyone."
I rolled my eyes.
"Vincent killed her. His father killed our Dad and he killed our Mom." He completed making me scoff.
What did I expect from him?
"He was in Italy Simon." Hazel replied.
"Did he fill this in your head? Don't believe him Haze, he wasn't in Italy he killed our Mom."
"How do you know that?"
"We had cameras Haze, I have proof I can show you everything once we meet. You know the worst part he wanted to kill you too that day but his father stopped him."
What the hell!
"He was forcing his father to get you out of the cupboard so that he can kill you, you didn't see anything because you already fainted."
She looked up at me.
"STOP LYING TO HER SIMON!" I yelled at him.
"I am lying to her? What about you? What did you do for 6 fucking years? How can anyone have faith in you who did nothing but to lie all these years?"
I shouldn't have allowed her to talk to him.
"And you are listening right? You are gonna pay for everything Rafael. And I will get Haze from you. Stop filling lies in her head and pretend that you are the victim here."
I looked down at Hazel, she was just sitting with her hands joined together and eyes teary.
"Haze, don't believe in him. Did you know he used to sell girls and rape the-" Before he could complete his sentence I cut the call.
"He's lying Haze about everything." Connor said.
She didn't reply instead she got up from the chair.
"I told you he'll not tell you the truth." I said.
All my hopes of winning her trust back were ruined. Simon did ruin it.
She didn't reply.
"Talk to me." I raised my hand to touch her but she backed away, her eyes were glued to the floor. She was scared, something that I last saw in those eyes a week ago when I killed Christopher.
"Hazel, he's lying!" I repeated.
"I-I need to g-go back t-to my room." As she took a step, she was about to fall but before I could hold her she held the chair balancing herself then while limping left as fast as she could.
"She didn't believe him, did she?" Connor asked completely shocked.
"Fucking Simon Cameron!" I cursed.
"I can talk to her."
"Leave her alone. She won't believe anyone."
I returned back to my penthouse it was late already. For the past few days, I have been returning home late and leaving early without having breakfast. The thing is I don't want Dad to ask me questions about Hazel. He doesn't know anything about me.
As I was making my way back to the room a voice stopped me "Rafael."
I turned around.
"It's late Dad you shouldn't be up." I said.
"You said Hazel was in her Uncle's place, how long will she stay there? It has been almost week now."
"Didn't talk to her today."
"Did you both have a fight?"
"Dad, Hazel is not going to stay with us forever. She'll leave after a year so please stop expecting her to stay." I said in an irritated tone. I was really frustrated because of what happened today.
"What's wrong Rafael?"
I shook my head "Nothing. I am just stating the truth."
"You both did fight, didn't you?"
"No Dad we didn't fight."
"Then why are you so pissed?"
I shook my head "Just work. I need to rest. Goodnight Dad."
I was about to leave when he asked "Are you going to join for breakfast tomorrow?"
I nodded and went to my room.
Always I enter this room I feel something is missing, something really important. I threw my phone on the bed and sat rubbing my face with my hands.
I really need to focus more on Simon than Hazel. She won't have any problem in the mansion Connor is there to help her with everything. I need to think of a plan to get Simon, why should I care if she hates me or don't trust me. My task is just to kill Simon, that's it.
I was so tired I don't even remember when I fell asleep.
