"Binnie!! Yun!!" Little Sunghoon cried with joy as he hugged them
"Hoonie!! How are you?" Soobin asked
"Great!! I played all day with Jongseongie, Jaeyunie and Riki hyung" Sunghoon said "and! I made new friends they're Seungie, Wonnie and Sunnie over there! We had tons of fun!!" He pointed
"I can see that" Taehyun replied "just look at you, you're dirty from head to toe"
Little Sunghoon looked down on himself, bits of leaves and twigs fell off his hair as he notice all the dirt and mud on his clothes, boots and especially on his pale face. "Shall we get you cleaned up?" Soobin asked as he picked him up and went into the bathroom followed be Taehyun.
"Baby Sunghoon really knows how to have fun" Sunoo expressed collapsing on the closest chair near him
"You should be lucky that you got to see this side of him'' Jake said as he drawer the curtains a bit "it's not everyday that you get to see this."
''That makes me wonder why Sunghoon was so comfortable with Heeseung so quickly. Does Heeseung have something that we don't?'' Niki suggested. The all looked at Heeseung with keen eyes.
"M–me!! I–I'vE got n-notHing to hide I proMise!!" Heeseung panicked denying what Niki just said
"Hey no need to be all worked up, I was just joking"
A few minutes later, Sunghoon finally came out of the bathroom all dressed up and ready for bed. "Okay, let's get you tucked in" Yeonjun said. That's when Sunghoon started to run away
"Hoonie! Where are you going!?" Jungwon said
"Hoonie don't wanna go to bed!!"
"Don't you want energy for tomorrow?"
Sunghoon thought for a second. "I'll go to bed if Seungie goes with me"
They all looked at Heeseung once again with smirks on their faces. "Oh alright fine"
"Yay!!" Sunghoon jumped onto his bed as Heeseung tucked him in. "Heeseungie?"
"Yes Hoon?"
"Can you...hold my hand?" He asked
Heeseung smiled at Sunghoon cute actions and wrapped his hand around the smaller's hand. "Did you have fun today?" Heeseung said
He nodded his head. "I had lots of fun. I wish I could do this everyday" he replied with a smile on his face. "I also wish...you will stay next to me"
"What do you mean Hoonie? I'm next you"
Sunghoon shook his head "I want you to stay beside me everyday, I don't want you to leave me" his hand gripped Heeseung's hand tighter knowing that he'll fall asleep any minute. "Promise that you won't leave me....I love...Heeseungie" and with that, he was sound asleep.
Heeseung was looking at him in shock at what he just said, not knowing if it was Sunghoon's real emotions for him or little Sunghoon's innocence.
Wanting to know more, he looked up and spoke. "I know I may not be in the right to say this but..." he paused "what exactly happed to Sunghoon for him to become like this?"
"Well I don't really think it's right to–"
"No it's okay Beomgyu, they're going to find out this anyways" Jay explained
"But I–" before Beomgyu could speak Yeonjun placed a hand on his shoulder
"Let's take our leave and let them be, I'm sure they trust them"
"Okay" he pouted.
"Even you Jake." Soobin said
"Why!?"
"This is their family business, it's best to leave"
"Fine I'm coming" one by one they left, leaving Jay and Niki to talk to the 3.
Jay sighed. "It all started many years ago"
Flashback
No One's POV
"Happy birthday mother!!" Shouted the boys
"Omo hello, what are you doing here?"
"We want to say good luck before you and speak" Jay said
"Ahh thank you, I'm so glad you came. But don't you want to go and see your aunties, uncles and cousins?"
"Yeah but we wanna be with you!" Niki cried
"Really! I'm so happy. Do you want to say something to mummy before she makes a big speech?"
"Oh oh! Good luck!" Said Niki
"I hope you do your best" added Jay
"Thank you very much"
After their cheering and clapping, someone came through the doors, interrupting the happiness in the room. "Hey bestie, it's time to go"
"I'll be there in a sec" She sighed. "Well I better go, why don't you join your cousins, I'm sure they want to see you" she stood up and turned around.
"Wait!" Cried Sunghoon stopping his mother in his tracks. He went up closer to her and placed a necklace with a small sparkling jewel in her hands. "It's for you, it's a lucky charm I made with Joonie hyung. It's not perfect and you don't need to wear it but you can keep it." He adjusted his eyes onto the floor.
She smiled as she placed the necklace around her neck with care. "I love it, I'll make sure I'll wear this everyday but you know, you should smile more often. Not just within for our family to see" she cupped his face making Sunghoon look up at his mother. "When you find someone who loves you more than me, I'm sure they would want to see you gorgeous smile"
She got up and stopped at the door before exiting. "Go and join your cousins now, you don't want to miss my big birthday speech" and left.
At the Ballroom After the Speech...
"Yeonjun hyung!" Niki shouted
"Riki!!" Yeonjun replied as they ran and hugged. "How is my amazing cousin"
"Great hyung!"
"Hey what about me?" Jake asked with the biggest pout on his face
"Jake hyung!!"
After the greetings and chat between all of them, they finally became bored. "I'm bored" said Hueningkai
"Me too" added Jay
"Why don't we play hide and seek?" Suggested Soobin
"Oh! Yes please!" Beomgyu cried "Sunghoon is the seeker!!"
"Wait! Why me!?"
"Because you're never the seeker when we play"
"Hang on Beomgyu." Taehyun said before he ran off "let's go and ask Yoongi hyung if we can first"
They all ran up to the other side of the room where Yoongi and Taehyung was talking. "Hyung! Hyung! Are we allowed to play hide and seek?"
"Umm...I don't know"
"Oh please hyung, we'll promise to be good"
"Come on Yoongi, I'm sure they won't do anything crazy" Taehyung persuaded
"Fine but–"
"Thanks hyung!" They all shouted and ran off.
"Don't on the 2nd floor!" He warned "yah! Did you here me!"
"Why are they not allowed to go on the 2nd floor?" Taehyung asked
"It's nothing" and walked off leaving him confused as ever.
"Okay we're only allowed on the 1st and 2nd floors and Hoonie, your counting" Jay said
"But I never said I would Jongseongie!" Sunghoon cried. Before he got to finish his sentence, the boys already ran away to hide. "Meanies" he whispered over his breath and started counting.
After counting, he was finally able to search for the mischievous and what he called idiotic boys. He searched in the 1st floor and soon came to see 3 pairs of feet behind a large curtain. "I see you!" Sunghoon yelled
"No you can't"
"Shush Beomgyu, he can hear you!" Someone whispered
"No you be quiet Hueningkai"
Sunghoon laughed at their bickering and opened the curtain. "I can hear both Beomie and Ningning!" He giggled
"It's all your fault" Beomgyu said
"Mine! It your fault!" He gasped
"It's both of your faults" Taehyun said "now stop arguing and look for the others"
"Well, at least I'm not the one saying that Soobin and Yeonjun are in the wardrobe in that room over there" Beomgyu stated
"Really!?" Sunghoon quickly opened the door next to him and raced to the wardrobe to reveal 2 disappointed faces.
"Yay! I found Yeonie and Binnie! Thanks Beomie!"
"Yah! Beomgyu–ah!" Yeonjun shouted "how dare you give away our hiding place!" He got up and chased after the culprit
"Yeonjun hyung! Don't kill him!" Taehyun belted
"Oh don't worry, I will" and ran away
As Hueningkai and Taehyun tries to stop Yeonjun from killing him, Soobin suggested something."Why don't we look for the others?" Sunghoon nodded his head and they both proceed towards the 2nd floor.
They both reached the next floor noticing the wide and long corridor infront of them. "You go down and check the doors over there, I'll start from here" Soobin suggested
"Alright" and so they started the search.
Sunghoon looked high and low for his brothers or Jake but couldn't find them anywhere. That's when he heard sounds from his mother's room.
"You know he'll come find you" said a voice from the other side."It won't be long until the jig is up"
"Oh I know, but he's such a clueless person. He'll never know I'm hiding" said another voice
At this moment, Sunghoon had his ears pressed to the door listening to his brothers speak ill of him, he listened in to the confiscation more.
"Can't you just tell everyone the truth?"
"The truth!? The truth is that you stole everything away from me! You ruined me chances to become Queen! You were chosen to meet the King! It was you who I thought was my best friend!"
"I'm sorry..."
"Your sorry!? That's all you can say!? I've been suffering next to you ever since you got with the King, and all you can say is that your sorry!?"
Sunghoon obviously knew these weren't his brothers but 2 adults talking. He was about to leave when he accidentally twisted the door knob and fell onto the ground, interrupting the arguing."Mother!?" Sunghoon gasped
"Sunghoon!? What are you doing here?" The mother cried
"Ahh hello Sunghoon" said the other person. "Come here Sunghoon there's nothing to be afraid of..."
Sunghoon slowly stood up as his eyes adjusted to the unfamiliar figure, it was his mother's best friend. He thought it was safe to go so he took a few steps forward.
"Park Sunghoon! Get away from her!" His mother ran to grab her son however, she was too late as her friend got there before her grabbing Sunghoon by the wrist and pulling a knife to his throat and locking the door behind her back
"Any step further and I'll cut his throat" she threatened "use your powers against me this time. I dare you."
The blade was cold and sharp to Sunghoon's touch, his eyes became blurry as each second goes by. Knowing that his life is on the line, his breath became heavy and rigid. "M-mom?"
"It's alright my dear just stay calm for me okay" she reassured Sunghoon, she looked up at her (used to be) best friend. "Look I'm sorry for not listening to you at times but holding my son captive is wrong" she explained "I'll make you Queen, and you can rule this land by my husband's side, you can make me suffer. Just let my son go"
She laughed like a maniac and smirked right at her. "You think I just wanted to make you suffer,you're wrong.... I want REVENGE!!"
She lifted the knife and stabbed Sunghoon's stomach making him scream in pain. She then threw him towards the bed as he lies there bleeding on the ground.
Even though Sunghoon may look lifeless, his eyes suddenly went wide open. For what he saw under the bed was the most fearful thing he saw–was his brothers, Jay and Niki.
So that's where they were hiding. All this time, listening to the fighting which has been going on for god knows how long.
They were in tears as Jay hugs Niki as tight as possible trying not to get caught by making a sound. They were all trembling in fear even if it was a short moment, Sunghoon still managed to get a few words out of his mouth. "Don't...come out" Jay nodded frantically in reply as he covered his mouth.
"SUNGHOON!!" She ran up to him and pulled him towards her. "Don't worry, mother is here now"
"You should worry more about me that you stupid son"
She pulled their mother towards her and stabbed the knife into the left side of her chest and dug it in deep before throwing her beside Sunghoon joining him with pain and suffering and even possibly–Death.
"I'll see you on you death bed" and left.
"S–sung..hoon, can y-you still..here mme" she managed to say
Sunghoon nodded. "That's good. Now give me your hand" they both reached for one and another and finally held each others hands, she placed something into his hand while holding his hand. "Keep this and wear it, it has my healing powers within it. It will save you"
"But what about you?" Sunghoon cried with tears in his eyes
"Your mother will be fine" she smiled through her pain. "Your bleeding more than me *cough* don't worry about me"
They heard banging on the door yet they couldn't enter. Was it locked? "Darling you in there! Can you hear me!?"
"Sunghoon...look at me" he looked with fear in his eyes. "Remember what I said...I said to find someone who w-will love you more than me..and when you do...come and show me. After this we c-can go into the garden again tog-gether"
All Sunghoon could do was nod. He wanted to say something, but nothing came out from his mouth. "Good. Now mummy is gonna close her eyes a bit. Stay awake so you can wake me up alright" he nodded again.
"I'll always stay beside you, no matter what okay... I love you"
And with that, she lost contact with all reality. Sunghoon couldn't help but cry over her, not knowing what was happening.
The door finally burst open revealing worried people rummaging through the door was. "Sunghoon! Can you hear me!?"
Sunghoon couldn't her anything, it was just muffled to his ear.
What will happen to my brothers? Will I be okay? Will I survive? What's happening? Why do I feel emotionless? This is what Sunghoon was thinking before he was overwhelmed by his thoughts and passed out.
End of Flashback
"2 years after that incident, our so called mother got married to our father which made us worry that we will be killed as well. Till this very day we've always had resentment to her" Jay finished. The room was quiet, no one was talking except the tears coming from their faces tell everything.
Heeseung looked down at the sleeping boy beside him."Why did she do this to you?" He whispered over his breath "what did you do to deserve this?" his grip tightened around the Sunghoon's hand.
"Have you ever noticed that Sunghoon will try to avoid Heeseung's room and would always go to his room?" Jay asked
"Now that you've mentioned it, you're right" Sunoo replied
"Well theirs a simple explanation to that because that room, used to belong to our real mother"
"So Heeseung's room used to be your mother's room!?" Jungwon cried
Niki nodded. "We came to a conclusion that she escaped through a secret entrance hidden in the room recently which leads to the outside"
The room became silent once again until Niki spoke again. "Tell me Heeseung..." They all looked at him. "Do you love Sunghoon?"
"I–wait what do you mean?"
"You know what I mean Heeseung. Do you love Park Sunghoon"
Heeseung paused not knowing what to say. Even though he knew what his answer was. "Yes, yes I do" he said "I love Sunghoon"
Jay and Niki looked at each other and smiled in relief. "Now would you promise us that you'll stay by his side, even if everything goes wrong?" Niki asked
"Yes I will" he said firmly and confidentiality this time
"Then we'll help." Jay replied
"Okay...wait what!?"
"It's only a matter of time when Sunghoon needs someone. He's the type of guys who'll cage his emotions and never let them out" Jay said "if we give you both a little push in the right direction, I'm sure everything will work out" he smiled in the direction of Jungwon as he released a rosy blush on his face. "It's getting late. We should head to bed and leave Sunghoon to rest, we can check on him tomorrow morning"
They all slowly made there way out leaving Heeseung to close the door but for some reason, he couldn't let go of the door handle. "Stay." Jungwon said
"What did you say!?"
"Come on Heeseung, it's obvious that you want to stay next to Sunghoon" Sunoo said "Go on, there's no harm"
"Thanks everyone." Heeseung smiled and closed the door, leaving the rest happy and a good night rest.
