After two days finally it is the day, the lunch banquet is arranged. Nandini get up late today. It was almost 8 in the morning when she left her sleeping chamber. Ageratina arranged everything that she needed already. Starting from her washing face to bathing. Once Nandini finished she dressed up. Her clothings are all ordinary one that she asked the trailor to make specially for this trip.
"I am hungry, prepare some food and have some with me" Nandini said as she sit down on chair.
"Does my lady want to have something light?"
"No, make it like lunch besides today's event is not joyous. We won't be able to have food peacefully anyway"
Ageratina nodded and left the room to arrange foods.
After having meal Nandini set out for the lunch gathering. Hem of her blue dress floated in the air as she walk. It is already a fall month and winter is now finally knocking at door. The weather in Patchal is little different from Samrat. There is always cool breeze blowing outside but it just makes people feel good.
"The weather is rather good today. She really does choose good time" Nandini said before smiling. Shaking her head a little she climbed in the carriage followed by Ageratina and few guards.
In the Fall Side Resturant, the second floor is wholly booked by the deputy residence. The manager was delighted at the news and even asked the working servants to pay extra attention and be more gentle towards the guest. Fall Side Resturant is expensive one in Patchal but the foods and services are satisfying so even after paying the high price, no one will criticize or talk about it from behind. So when the manager heard the second floor was wholly booked he couldn't help but feel happy. The second floor has three section and each section was divided by folding screens. But for today it was asked to remove the screens to make more space. And the manager was too happy to reject.
In the second floor, there is huge rounded shaped wooden table placed and few chairs surrounded table and few ladies are laughing and talking.
A fair skinned, beautiful lady laughed as she said "Pari what's the matter about inviting all of us here?"
Pari who was sitting in center smiled gently "the Fall is already arrived. And it has been month that we girls have not chatted so I thought it will be a great excuse to invite you all"
Another girl smiled but her eyes filled with envy "it's good that your too fortunate. Deputy minister really loves you so much. If it were us, then we won't be able to book the whole second floor of Fall Side Resturant"
"I am truly glad about it" Pari nodded "father is generous and never objected my words. It's just my fortune to be able to get him as my father"
Another girl joined "but it's really a good opportunity to come here. Afterall Fall Side Resturant is famous for the landscape view and Pari you really know how to choose the best part" she turned to look outside the window "I can see the beautiful fall trees from here"
Pari just smiled and declined the comment. It was said the best part of Fall Side Resturant is the second floor. The view from second floor is really amazing. Besides Fall Side Resturant is surrounded by the Red Maple Tree and Palmate Maple Trees. And during the fall the red and golden leaves cover the ground giving a beautiful landscape view. Her father helped her in choosing this best part and she is really glad about it.
"Oh, I remembered, Pari you said you have invited someone else too. Who is that person?" A girl who was wearing green dress asked taking a small sip from her tea cup.
"This person is special, I mean she is the new assistant officer of Patchal who arrived few days ago. We also had dinner in our residence once so I thought why not invite her to enjoy the fall view with good foods" Pari replied smiling.
"New officer? I have heard about it. I couldn't believe you really interacted with them already. It's a great opportunity to meet the assistant" the girl in green nodded.
"We are all here, but that assistant is still delaying time. Is not it the act of arrogance?" Another girl in yellow rolled her eyes.
"What is act of arrogance?" Another voice asked from behind.
Everyone turned to look towards the door and saw a beautiful girl in blue standing there..the girls in the room looked at her before whispering.
"Is she the assistant? Wow, I never thought she will be this beautiful"
"She looks like at same age of ours but how come her skill is so bright and beautiful?"
"What kind of make up she use?'
Pari who was listening to all this whispering clenched her fist under the table but still managed to smile "assistant is finally here, we were just talking about you"
Nandini walked forward with serious face "who said that I am arrogant?"
Pari bite her lips "it's just a misunderstanding assistant officer. Please have a seat first" she smiled then glanced towards the girl in yellow before throwing a hard glare.
Nandini sit down then smiled "my work is official here and I still have matters to handle. I don't have free time to chat like other ladies in Patchal. So if my works really offends the ladies in here they can complain about it government office"
The girl in yellow swallowed hard. She thought the officer will be aged person but never expected she will be a girl like herself. Her father is a manager of clothing factory and if she involves in government matters then her father's work will be in danger.
Pari sensed the situation is not right so she speak out "assistant is scaring this ladies" she tried to laugh "they don't know your identity so said something inappropriate. Please don't mind their words" then she glanced towards the other girls and said with gritted teeth "am I right?"
No matter what she won't let others to ruin her perfect plan.
The others got her indication and nodded "yes, it's just misuse of words, please don't mind officer"
Nandini glanced at them and almost laugh out. They are just scared from a simple threat? Don't they know complaint to government office needs a good reason and evidence to show before filing a case and s few words won't work at all. But here, they got scared from just simple words.
"I am not accusing anyone" Nandini smiled "I was just stating some minor point. You all don't have to so nervous"
Pari heaved a sigh before smiling "since officer is here then let's order something first. We can still talk while having foods"
Since they are invited for lunch the girls didn't have much in their home and felt hungry and when Pari suggested having foods they agreed immediately. Besides today is also lucky day as they will be able to taste the dishes of Fall Side Resturant. Thinking about it they got exited.
Soon a servant came to take ordered. It didn't take time for the food to arrive. The service system of Fall Sidd is fast and the empty table is now filled with different types of food.
Ageratina looked at the food then sighed. Now she understood why her lady said they won't be able to have foods. The dishes on table are all made from fish and meats. And as she stayed with Nandini she is now habituated of having vegan foods.
When Pari saw Nandini didn't even moved her hand she frowned. She has ordered the most delicious dishes then why the foods are untouched till now.
"Does the dishes not suit officer?" She couldn't help but ask.
Nandini smiled "oh, these dishes looks really good but it's edible for me"
Pari's frown deepend "why is that?"
"Because I don't eat fish or meats" Nandini replied.
Pari's eyes widened. She ordered the most expensive dishes only to hear the other party don't even eat fish or meats.
A girl sitting beside Pari asked "then why didn't officer said first?"
Nandini glanced at her "have you asked me about it when you were ordering foods?"
That made the girl stop talking. Before inviting guest it's needed to know about the person's taste before ordering or making foods. But Pari who is the host of today's lunch even never bothered to ask for it. She simply ordered what she wanted. So the rejection is kind of slapping on the face.
Ignoring the raising hatred Pari tried to smile "it was my bad hosting in the first place. Please assistant officer tell me about your taste so I can ask the servant to prepare for it"
Nandini waved her hand "no need. I am good. Besides my breakfast was quite heavy this morning so I don't feel hungry. I will have some water, you all please enjoy the food"
"Since assistant want to have some water, let me call the servant and ask them to offer you sweet water. Fall Side has a sweet water which is collected from Vriham Waterfall exclusively"
Nandini nodded and Pari smiled before calling a servant to order for the sweet water. Soon a servant came with a cup of sweet water. But as he about to put the cup on table he suddenly tripped and the water fell on Nandini's cloth.
"What are you doing? Can't you see properly where are going going?" Pari yelled suddenly standing up.
The servant looked puzzled. He don't know how he tripped suddenly when there is nothing on floor. He kneeled on floor asking for forgiveness continuously.
"Assistant please forgive this servant. This restaurant has side too to clean cloth. If you want you can use it" a girl in orange dress said with concern.
"Alright then" Nandini get up.
Pari looked at her then said to another servant "please lead the assistant"
Nandini and Ageratina followed the servant out of the room. Pari looked at them then a small smiled appeared on the corner of her lips. First half of her plan is complete and now if the second is also successful then she can finally get revenge of her insults.
But soon another news traveled in the room that Deputy Minister is also here in Fall Side Resturant along with a inspection officer. Hearing that Pari couldn't help but smile even more. She only thought as a smile played on her face.
What a coincidence!
