Baekhyun never did hear from Yifan again, he never could quite remember seeing him in school after the trip. He knew he was probably off due to his broken leg anyway.

There wasn't much to do at school, the numbers had lessened, people rarely came in due to summer being just around the corner and exams being over with.

Baekhyun joined the small group at the table with his lunch, he watched as some students carried in different kinds of decorations into the main hall.

Chanyeol looked to where the small male was looking, the school were preparing for the senior dance which he hadn't asked Baekhyun to yet. He'd been with the male for a while now and yet asking him seemed so nerve-wracking.

Baekhyun was in the midst of peeling his tangerine when Chanyeol cleared his throat, the small male didn't take the hint that it was to grab his attention and was still focused on his food.

"Baekhyun." Chanyeol spoke up.

"Hm." Baekhyun hummed in response, not even looking back to the taller. He was too engrossed in carefully peeling of the white bits of tangerine peel, he hated that part.

"I was wondering—" He began, not quite sure where to go with his words, "It's fine if you don't, it's only just a suggestion—"

Kyungsoo had grown curious in the conversation that Chanyeol was trying to progress with Baekhyun, he watched the male stutter profusely and wondered what he was trying to ask.

Baekhyun wasn't in the slightest bit bothered, "What is it?" He questioned, popping a slice of tangerine in his mouth as he focused on getting rid of more of the white peel from the next slice.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to the dance with me?" Chanyeol questioned, "You know, the dance for seniors?"

Baekhyun laughed slightly, "You really wanna go to that?" He replied.

Chanyeol grew worried at the fact Baekhyun hadn't even answered his question.

"Dances aren't my thing." Baekhyun simply replied, not realising how much it hurt Chanyeol.

Kyungsoo watched the two, feeling slightly sympathetic for the tall male. Sometimes Baekhyun could be so clueless, he wondered if the small male even noticed how head over heels Chanyeol was for him.

It looked as if Chanyeol genuinely wanted to go to the dance with Baekhyun, even though they'd been dating for a while it looked as if he just got rejected by his crush.

Kyungsoo kicked Baekhyun's leg under the table.

Baekhyun let out a groan, "What the hell?" He hissed, "Why did you kick me?" He quickly looked up to Kyungsoo.

"I need to go to the toilet." Kyungsoo spoke up.

"And that involves kicking me?" Baekhyun questioned, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"I want you to come with me." Kyungsoo replied, maybe he could've caught the male's attention another way but he felt he deserved a small kick for being so oblivious to Chanyeol.

Baekhyun let out a deep sigh, looking towards Chanyeol who's head was lowered as he stared at his school lunch. "Okay, fine." He soon got up from the table and followed Kyungsoo, leaving Chanyeol on his own. Jongin hadn't bothered to come in today; just like most students.

He soon followed Kyungsoo into the toilets, even more confused when he didn't even go to one of the urinals or stalls.

"You're so clueless." Kyungsoo spoke up.

"What?" Baekhyun furrowed his brows.

"You broke your boyfriend's heart and you didn't even realise because you were more focused on your stupid tangerine." Kyungsoo finally cut to the chase.

"But I—" Baekhyun paused for a moment, "I just said dances weren't my thing."

"He really wants to go with you." Kyungsoo replied.

"How would you know?" Baekhyun questioned.

"He looked like he was going to cry when you said no." Kyungsoo answered.

Baekhyun couldn't help but feel guilty, he didn't know it was that serious to Chanyeol, "I didn't mean it like that, I wasn't rejecting him—" He sighed slightly, "I'll talk to him."

Baekhyun had only just made it to the doorway of the toilets when the bell rang, he looked back to Kyungsoo. "Well, you better go and catch up to him."  The male merely said in response.

Baekhyun let out a deep sigh but by the time he got to the lunch table Chanyeol had left.

Chanyeol usually waited for him if the bell went.

Baekhyun frowned whilst packing up his lunch from the table, Chanyeol was in P.E whilst Baekhyun was in something else, he sighed. He guessed he was going to have to catch up to Chanyeol at the end of the day.

...

Baekhyun could barely concentrate in his history class, although it was a free period and his fellow seniors were having fun, he was zoned out as he thought of the many ways to apologise to Chanyeol.

Once the last bell of the day rang Baekhyun practically ran to the school gyms, he made his way inside and through to the changing rooms.

He covered his nose at the smell of sweat, maybe he probably should've waited outside but it was too late for that now. His eyes scanned the changing rooms but he couldn't find a certain tall male he was looking for.

He then found a familiar face in the crowd of people getting changed, "Minseok, have you seen Chanyeol?"

The said male turned his head, "When did you start doing P.E?"

"I didn't, I'm just looking for Chanyeol." Baekhyun sighed slightly.

"Oh, well, he forgot his kit," Minseok replied as he began to button his shirt, "So he had to sit out and ended up leaving straight after."

Baekhyun's mouth hung open slightly. Things really weren't in his favour right now, he quickly thanked Minseok before dashing out the gyms. He made his way outside, it was raining, really hard.

He looked around, there wasn't many students lingering around due to the bad weather. Baekhyun sighed, he wasn't going to let Chanyeol just sit at home and still be upset.

He began his quick walk to Chanyeol's house, he pondered on taking the bus but when he checked the times the next one came in half an hour. He didn't want to wait for 30 minutes, he was certain it would be quicker if he walked.

By the time he reached Chanyeol's front gate he was soaked to the bone. He fumbled around with the gate before it finally opened, he quickly made his way to the front door and knocked several times.

Baekhyun could've cursed at the male for taking his time answering the door, once it flung open he was greeted with Chanyeol's shocked expression.

"Baekhyun—"

Before Chanyeol could even speak, he interrupted, "Chanyeol, I'm really sorry about what happened at lunch, I didn't know that you really wanted to go," He took a deep breath before continuing, "I was so stupid, all I cared about was my stupid tangerine and not your feelings and I—"

Chanyeol stood in shock, yes, he was a bit upset at what happened at lunch but he slowly got over it by the end of the day.

"Baekhyun, just stop." Chanyeol quickly interrupted him, "I'm fine about it, please come inside and stop standing in the rain."

Baekhyun did as told and stepped inside, taking off his wet shoes and let Chanyeol help him take off his soaking school blazer.

"I thought you were in P.E so I went there but you weren't and you weren't outside so I decided to walk here to come see you." Baekhyun sighed out.

Chanyeol laughed at Baekhyun's pout, he didn't think the male even noticed he was upset. He knew he shouldn't exactly laugh at him, he was just surprised Baekhyun went all this way to apologise.

"You're such an idiot." Chanyeol chuckled as he disappeared into the cupboard to grab a fresh towel for the male, tossing it over to Baekhyun.

"If anything it shows I care about you." Baekhyun muttered as he began to shake his hair dry with the towel.

Chanyeol leaned back on the kitchen counter, watching the small male dry his hair off, "I can get you a spare change of clothes, if you want?"

Baekhyun slowly nodded and then followed Chanyeol into his bedroom, he watched the tall male fish around in his closet and handed Baekhyun a spare t-shirt and joggers, they were probably too big for him but Chanyeol was sure it would be okay until the male's uniform dried out.

Baekhyun clutched onto Chanyeol's clothes, "I've decided, that I will go to the dance with you."

Chanyeol turned around, "Really?"

Baekhyun nodded, "Yes," he continued, "It's what couples do."

Chanyeol just laughed at Baekhyun's cheesy comment, "I'm going to go before you change your mind." He pointed to the door and left the small to get changed, a big smile on his face at the fact he was now going to the dance with Baekhyun.

Before leaving for the school the next day Baekhyun stopped before opening the front door.

"Mum," He spoke up, catching her attention, "I think I need a suit."

"A suit?" She seemed confused, "What for?"

"Well, I'm thinking about going to the senior dance." He sighed slightly.

"Seriously?" Her eyes widened, a smile forming on her lips. Baekhyun knew she'd be excited.

"Do you have a date?" She grinned, "Is there a girlfriend I don't know about?" She continued to tease him.

"Stop." Baekhyun sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Oh, come on," His mother tutted, "You never talk to me about girls."

"I'm going with Chanyeol." Baekhyun quickly cut in, he never did tell his mother about his relationship with Chanyeol, he hoped this would somehow bring it to her attention.

"Oh, okay," She looked a little disappointed, "Is Kyungsoo going too?"

Baekhyun nodded, "Ah okay," She soon spoke up, "It'll be more fun with just your friends."

Baekhyun pursed his lips gently, she still didn't get the hint. "I'm gonna go, I don't want to be late." He simply replied as he opened the front door.

As he walked to the bus stop he couldn't help but wear a small frown on his face. She seemed so quick to talk about girls, he'd never really spoke to his mother about Chanyeol or how he felt deep down, it was always something he just kept to himself.

The small exchange left him a little upset for the rest of the day.
