"Mother, I don't want to get involve in this matter. Besides, I don't have any feelings for the Virat princess. So marrying her out of no where is not reasonable either" Vaibhav said to Chityakanta who brought up the marriage matter again.
Actually Chityakanta didn't paid much attention to this matter but when in the early morning she saw princess Rashmi with Sakshi beside the pond near praying hall, she was quite fascinated by her. The princess looked charming and beautiful. Besides her standerd is noble background so Chityakanta didn't find any problem in agreeing but persuing her son is now becoming a difficult one. Vaibhav is not listening to any word about the princess.
She glared at him "why are you against this marriage. Tell me clearly what's the reason behind your rejection. Is not princess Rashmi beautiful and noble one. She is tender and gentle and even more mannered and thoughtful than princess Kashmin. I have seen her already and if you spare your little amount of time and spend a quality time with her, you will know what's good for you"
Vaibhav frowned "mother, I am not rejecting this marriage because there was any lack in princess Rashmi. I have seen her too and know that she is a well mannered beautiful lady of Virat. There's no doubt in this" he shook his head.
"Then why are you refusing it. Since you consider her greatly just agree to this engagement and spare me some efforts" Chityakanta sighed.
Vaibhav rolled his eyes. He don't know how should he persuade his mother to agree with him. She kept talking about princess Rashmi which annoyed him greatly.
"Mother, I am not saying princess Rashmi is bad but just because I praised her good attitude and beauty it doesn't mean I have marry her at the end. There's so many beautiful ladies outside which are noble and well mannered too. Admiring them and praising them don't mean I have to marry everyone of them. In that case Samrat palace won't even have enough space to soare for them"
Chityakanta glared at him again "are you taking my words as joke. I am having serious conversation here"
"Mother, I am too serious to joke right now. This matter involves my whole life. Besides I don't like the harem rule of ancient dynasty having thousand woman in harem. Brother also against it so I am following his rule here. If I have to marry, I will marry only one woman"
Chityakanta observed her son. When did her son become so practical and understanding about inner courtyard matter? He was always outside the palace most of the years previously until he got injured. Then he stayed inside his room and never out for a second. He even mostly isolated himself. But now seeing him retorting like this it made her feel like this son of her knew everything the matters of inner courtyard.
"I never knew my son has developed such skill"
Vaibhav pursed his lips. What can he about it. It is the matter of his whole life. Besides, his brother and sister in law refused to interfere in this problem and even shouldered him all the responsibility. So he have to fight for it himself. No matter what he can agree to this matter.
"Mother, I don't meant to disrespect you. I never had such thought nor will I ever have in future. I was just trying to say that I don't want to marry Princess Rashmi because I don't have any feelings for her. And how could I live with her happily after marriage if there was no feeling in the first place? It will be totally injustice to her part. I can't let an innocent girl involve and ruin her life without any reason"
Chityakanta closely listened everything before sighing. She couldn't help but feel headache now. She thought since the Virat family wanted to establish a marriage alliance with Samrat and the princess is also qualified and matched, there won't be problem at all but she never expected her son to directly reject the proposal. But she also knew that she couldn't interfere too much. Even though she can use her power and force this marriage to happen but at the end what? To see the children indifferent to eachother. No, that's not what she wants. She wants her children to be happy and make her happy by giving her grandkids to play with.
"Fine, fine, since you don't want then let's stop this topic here" she sighed again then look at Vaibhav "but tell me why you are refusing such good proposal? Do you have anyone in your heart?"
Vaibhav couldn't help but nodded. Immediately Chityakanta's eyes lit up.
"Really? Tell me who is she? What royalty does she belong?"
Vaibhav's smile froze for a moment. Right, his mother will definitely expect him to like some princess and marry. Besides liking the other person's background also needed to be match the royalty or it will birth too much chaos in future.
"Mother that..." He don't know what to reply now. Though he managed yo stop the marriage alliance but now this is the biggest problem to solve. What he is going to reply? The one he loves is not a princess but a maid who is serving his sister in law. He knew his love and affection is true but will his mother and royals politics will consider the affection of heart? Certainly not.
"What happened? Since you like someone then tell me her identity. I will propose fir marriage to them" Chityakanta frowned seeing her son silent.
"Mother, she is..."
"The princess" another voice joined his.
Both mother and son pair looked towards the door and saw Manik standing there with a smile.
"Really?" Both Chityakanta and Vaibhav said together.
Chityakanta turned to look at Vaibhav "what do you mean by that? Don't you know the girl you like is a princess or something?"
Vaibhav could not reply but rubbed the back of his neck with embarrassed expression. He turned his head to look at Manik who was striding inside leisurely.
"Mother the one your son desire to marry is not a stranger to you" Manik said as he sat on the chair.
Chityakanta frowned at him. Not stranger? What dies that mean?
Manik smiled "or should I say that you know her closely band even saw her numerous times"
"Whom you are talking about?" Chityakanta asked. Her gazed shifted between the two brother sitting opposite to eachother with confusion "tell me what both of you hiding from me?"
"Mother, since this matter is already exposed then let me enlighten you" Manik replied quickly "the one Vaibhav like is Atropa"
Chityakanta couldn't help but gasped loudly. Her eyes widened in shock. Never in her dream she thought that her son would ended up liking a maid at the end.
She glared at Vaibhav "what does this mean? You are a prince and you should know what's good and bad for our royalty yet you let yourself fallen for a maid. Do you want to ruin your father's hard work and contribution for the pride of Samrat?" She yelled angrily.
Vaibhav felt sad. He knew his mother won't approve fir this relationship fast. As a prince of Samrat he knew some rules of Samrat couldn't be changed for anyone. But falling for Atropa was not something in his hand he don't even know how that happened either. He only realised it when he wal already fallen for her and it's too late to step back. But since this matter exposed what he can do now?
Looking at the two person Manik revealed a smile. He would have thought the similar thing if Nandini did not told him the whole story last night.
"Mother, you can't marry Atropa to Vaibhav but what about princess Heena?" Manik asked as he smiled.
Chityakanta frowned hearing it "princess Heena? Who is she? Which royalty does she belong? How come I never heard of her name before?"
"You don't know her because the royal she belong dies not exist now but fortunately the heir of that Royalty is still alive. Even though the royalty is just for a name now but the identity couldn't change like that"
"Who is princess Heena brother?" Vaibhav frowned. They were talking about Atropa. How come it changed to Heena?
Manik smiled "Atropa the maid of Nandini is actually the Princess Heena of Sanatan Royalty"
And once the identity exposed the two people in the room was beyond shocked.
Afterall who would have ever thought a mere maid's identity will be this big?
