CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR: 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓
▬▬▬❦▬▬▬

I woke up at loud chatters downstairs, I sat up from the bed and tidied it as if no one slept there. I knew Ron, Hermione and Ginny would arrive today so today's also going to be the day I'd move to my own place.

I tiptoed to the door and opened it quietly, grinning when I saw a tray of food on the ground with a note. I immediately picked it up and closed the door.

I quickly ate my breakfast, reading through the notes given to me.

     Nicolette,

I am sincerely sorry since you're not able to eat with us on your last breakfast here for a while, but I'll make sure to bring you some foods at your place. Our last meeting didn't ended up nice, so I'm really sorry, dear. Please do write back to us. You can use the floo on Sirius' room, the address is Block 27, Ilfracombe.

Molly

I opened another note behind the first one.

      Supergirl,

I'm so sorry for what happened last night, it was just a heat of the moment but I understood what you could've felt. My heart wouldn't take it if you won't forgive me, so please, forgive Uncle Sirius. About last night again, it really is better to be safe at your own place than hearing dear old Walburga's screeches everyday, I wouldn't forgive myself if she ruins your eardrums. Oh, and about your traces of being here, I made Kreacher swear to not mention you to your friends for now. Just send us an owl if you need anything or if you're in trouble.

P.S I've got an earful from Moony about what happened last night so I'm really really sorry

Padfoot

I chuckled at the letter, folding it before keeping it in my jean pocket, I left the tray back on the door as I sneaked to Sirius' room which was a floor above. I could hear Hermione and Ron's voices, I controlled myself from running downstairs and giving them a tight hug.

I went inside Sirius' room, walking towards the chimney. I grabbed the bowl of floo powder, gathered some in my hand, before putting it back to where it stood.

I walked inside the chimney, before speaking.

  "Block 27, Ilfracombe!"

I dropped the floo powder, then I was swallowed by green flames. I felt a quick nausea drop before it faded.

I opened my eyes and gone was the dark room of 12 Grimmauld Place. My eyes widened at the warm aura the place was giving. I walked out of the chimney and walked to what seems to be the living room. The floor was made out of wood, covered by a carpet which felt comfortable.

The light from the morning's sun passed through the window as I felt the slight heat of the sunlight. I saw a couch good for four persons on the wall, in front of the window. This could be great for sight seeing the ocean outside.

I continued to walk around my new place, the kitchen was neat and clean, even if it was a bit small, I still felt at home. I smiled a bit as this reminded me of my mom's house in California.

I walked inside a brown door, I assume which must be my room since it was the most different color of door aside from the white ones.

I twisted the doorknob and walked inside, chuckling when I saw my luggage on the floor, along with Marvel and Chucky who seemed to be eating from their cages. There was a bed in the middle, not too small, not too big.

I sat on the soft bed, almost smelling the salt waters of the sea outside my window, I could hear people chattering outside. For a split second there, I thought I was back home, no pandemics this time.

It's been two years since I've seen my mom. She would've liked this house with this view.

A solemn smile crept up to my face, I started feeling sad, all of a sudden. I stood up and decided to unpack my bags. I grunted when one of the bags fell on my foot.

I put one on the bed, opening it. I sighed when I saw my clothes at Hogwarts. I figured some of it would still fit since I never gained weight for some reason, probably because of my fast metabolism.

I let out a sneeze, getting a whif of the dust of my Gryffindor robes. It wasn't even that long since I passed. I placed it on the topmost part of the small closet with the rest of my clothes.

I opened the second bag, and I saw the clothes Tonks gave me, I put it all inside the closet before sighing. I felt so bored at the moment, something just doesn't feel right.

Maybe I was just feeling homesick about the Avengers, maybe.

I felt slightly suffocated, clearly the opposite of what I felt entering the house. So I decided to take a stroll around the town. I grabbed a hat and a coat, for some reason I wanted to be hidden.

I opened the door and locked it, before walking around. The seaside wind made my hat slightly moved as I held onto it. I was relieved when people didn't stare, they just simply passed by.

I saw a stone bridge just a few feet away, I saw a vacant bench so I immediately ran, in fear that someone would race me to it. I let out a small grin when I sat down, feeling relaxed.

I held onto the railing behind the bench, one wrong move and I'll fall into the water. The sunset looked unreal at that moment, so I just stared.

I didn't care if I'd go blind, but the sunset is too hard not to stare at. I sighed at the feeling, the last time I did this was back in California.

Now that I realized it, everything felt like deja vu. It was the exact moment, but the difference was that I grew up.

Why did I have to grow up?

When I was still 11, I wanted to be an adult so badly, it was because I wanted freedom. Adults had this certain freedom when they grew up, and I wanted time to fly fast.

Now that I'm here, an adult, I'm starting to regret everything. My reckless 11 year old self didn't know what she was wishing for, now that her wish was granted, I was the one who was suffering.

I'm happy, I really am. I just didn't feel alright now. Maybe in a few days, I'd start feeling better. Hopefully.

It felt surreal, for a minute I didn't know what was happen, or who was I. Maybe this was the thing they called, an existential crisis.

I don't know what to feel, I even know what to do. So I just stared at the sunset.

"Mom, look! The sun looks so pretty!" I heard someone behind me. I turned a bit and saw myself, with my Mom.

"Nicolette, don't run too close to the ocean! You still don't know how to swim!" Mom yelled as I just stood there, beaming at the sunset.

"But you'll teach me, right Mom? I wanna be a surfer like my friends!" I yelled, stomping my feet excitedly.

"Fine, fine. I'll teach you tomorrow, but for now, let's just eat, okay?"

  "Roger that!"

I snapped out of my memory when I heard a voice. I blinked and saw the little girl with her mother in front of her.

"Hello there, I was wondering if my daughter could sit there? I'm just going to take a quick photo of her." The mother showed her camera and her daughter poked my knee.

  I hate kids.

"Uh, yeah, sure. I was about to leave anyway." I let out a fake smile and stood up, I began to walk away.

I arrived back at my house not too shortly, removed my hat and coat before projecting a piece of bread and apple juice. There were food in the refrigerator but I don't know how to cook.

I sat alone on my bed as I watched the clock in front of me.

I have never felt so alone in my life.

I finished my bread and discarding it in the trash can outside of my room, I laid back in bed, staring at the ceiling this time.

Was I that miserable that I could only just stare at things?

I slightly jumped, startled at the arrival of an owl outside my window. I stood up from my comfortable chair, and opened the window. The owl dropped the letter on my hands, before I immediately opened the letter.

  Nicolette,

Harry has been expelled from Hogwarts.          Please don't come here for now, Dumbledore went to the Ministry to try to sort it all out.

    Padfoot

I grabbed a newly packed parchment and began to write back.

   Padfoot,

Alright, copy that. I've read your letters, please tell Molly that everything is alright. The house and the town has been cozy so far, I feel great. Thank you for everything.

  Nicolette

I folded the letter, tying it on Marvel's talons and nuzzled his chin before letting him fly away. I closed my window and laid on my bed. Even though I already knew what would happen, I was still worried.

I laid in bed, sighing deeply. I do hope nothing bad happens.
