KAKUYA POV
DeVante and I are best friends again. I can never stay mad at him. We've been spending a lot of time together but today he had to go record some stuff with his label, Swing Mob. I would love to go, but I don't want to impose, so I'm going to a poetry bar called Cool Relax until he's done.
I got to the bar at about noon and ordered a mojito. I was just drinking and minding my own business when a man came up and spoke to me. He was about 20 or so, with a nice fade and a nose ring. Sexy young brotha at that.
Me: Do I know you?
He smiled and right then I remembered! It was Tupac Shakur! He went to Temple for only one semester but during that time we met in an English class and it was a great time for us! When I was dating Lazarus. Pac made several attempts to get me to leave him and give him a try. Now that we're over, I want for him to be first in line. He's made it as a rapper, and I know what comes with that lifestyle (thanks to DeVante), and I'm worried....but if he worked so hard to find and get at me, why not give this a chance? Ain't no groupie gonna stop this action! BET THAT!
Me: Tupac! Hi!
We hugged and he sat down with me.
Me: How you been, man?
Tupac: I'm better now. I got to see my girl.
Me: Oh, NOW I'm your girl?
Tupac: I heard about what happened between you and Laz, and if I wasn't 300 miles away, I woulda beat his ass myself, believe me. How have YOU been, baby?
Me: Fantastic now that he's out of my life!
Tupac: So, what's up with you and DeVante?
Me: What?
Tupac: Dalvin told me ya'll fell out!
Me: Yeah, but we got over it. We aren't a thing if that's what ya gettin' at.
Tupac: Oh word? The way he was talking, it made it seem like ya'll was together.
Me: Nope. That window of opportunity is still open, Pac.
Tupac: What?
Me: If you're going to ask me out, go ahead homie!
Tupac: Damn, I was trying to build my way up there girl...haha.
We laughed and he pulled me into a kiss. Damn! I forgot what it was like to kiss a REAL man. Lord....I couldn't control myself. We pulled away and he stroked my cheek.
Me: Wow....
Tupac: So?
Me: Yes.
I know I'm moving way too fast into this, but damnit I want some happiness! This will finally be the one relationship that DeVante can't knock me for! He's good friends with Pac and he'll learn to support me just like I've been doing for him. Shit he better, because I'm going to do me regardless.
