''Cato, up up up, training today!!" Darcy booms and I wake up in Cato's arms. Shoot!! If Darcy catchs me, I'm dead.... "Go, I'll see you later k?'' Cato says I nod and rush out of his room feeling very awkward from sleeping with him. No, not sex, but lying under the covers wrapped up in his arms. God.....
I take a nice warm shower letting my muscles relax, well trying to anyway. There is a training uniform laid out for me. Its grey with red and black stripes on both top and pants. The top is tight with cap-sleeves and a red '2' on each sleeve. The pants are tight with the strips. And black mountain hiking boots. I lace them up and put my hair into two french plaits.
I walk down to the breakfast table, sitting on the oddly shaped blue chair. I stare at the food. ''Eat what you want'' Darcy says and the returns to her conversation with clara and Clayton. Cato walks in and takes the seat next to me.
''Sorry I'm late, miss me?" He asks. 'Of course we did'' Enobaria replies sarcastically and I laugh. Brutus grunts. ''Do you know what to do down there?" Brutus asks Cato. ''Um Brutus, Clove is there too'' Enobaria tells him. ''Yeah but she's not my tribute, so if she dies, it ain't my problem'' he informs her.
She let's out a deep angry breath and walks away. 'Brutus'' Darcy scolds. ''Not eating Clove?" Clara asks. ''Em no, I'm not hungry' I train better on a empty stomach'' She nods.
''Oh my, ye have to go'' darcy yells and Cato looks like he got hit in the face with a brick. ''What, now? We have 30 minutes left'' ''Ye must be early, yer careers'' oh I hate Dacy.
I step into the elevator with Cato,this is the first time I was in one, we took the stairs last night. ''Bye'' Cato says''Good luck'' Clayton calls. The doors shut and Cato presses a button which sends shooting up 11 floors. My head spins and I feel like I'm flying. My stomach doesn't like it.
The we drop about 13 froors when he presses a button labeled TC. '' I feel sick' I tell Cato. ''Yeah, why do we have this shit anyway?" I shrug.
Rayna runs over to us ''Cato, Clove, over here'' we slowly walk over to her. This centre is huge they have everything, obsticale courses, poisons, snares and knives precious knives. My hand tingles and I urge to go and throw them.
'This, is Glimmer and this is Marvel'' she says signalling to the pair from 1. ''Hiya'' the boy I'm guessing is Marvel is. ''Hi I'm Cato, this is Clove'' he tells him. Glimmer batts her eyelashs at him. Marvel sighs. ''So do we have our usual career pack? '' I ask. ''Yes except Eamon'' Rayna points out.
''What do you mean? She isn't in our group she? She's justa year older then Eamon." Glimmer points out glaring at me. ''Im 16 bitch'' I spit to Glimmer. She flicks her hair and rolls her eyes.

''And lastly, no fighting with other tributes, there will be a lot of time for that in the arena.'' A dark skinned, athletic women Atala tells us. We ar surrouded around her in two circles. Cato is glaring at Katniss, but I'm looking at Rue.
We all run our seprate ways me to the knives, Cato to tge swords, Marvel to the spears, Glimmer to the bow and Rayna to the mace. Glimmer is actually hopeless, she only hits the 50 mark on the target, that won't kill anyone.
Marvel positions himself, spear in hand standing about 30 feet away from the target. He throws it with so much power you can hear it zooming through the air and then the bang when it embeds itself into the 100 mark. He's good.
I look at Cato next, he's standing in a circle of about five dumies. Hacking away at them, acting all superior. Stuffing comes oozing out of the dummies as he chops of their heads and limbs. The triner nods in approvment.
Rayna holds the spiked mace in her hand before spinning it above her head and slamming it down onto the dummies head. I realize I done nothing yet. I grab four knives. ''Can I have em the lighting targets please?'' I ask to the trainer and he nods.
I take my position and take a breath. The first target lights up red and then I hit the bullseye. I then throw another 45° right. 85° left. 85° right. Smiling I review my shoots, all bullseyes. None off by one inch.

I heand to the bathroom, sweating from knife throwing. Glimmer is now flirting with Cato. Rayna and Marvel Re thrwing spears together and THUD!!!!!
I stare down at Rue, I just knocked her down. I reach my hand down and pull her up. ''Sorry bout that'' I say to her. She nods and looks if she will cry. '' I'm Clove, I won't hurt you, now or in the arena, my oartner or Rayna won't either" I know but I couldnt, she's like Ronnie. ''Thank you" she says the scurries off . I watch her run to the obstacle course. I roll my eyes and go to the bathroom.

''Now,just swing it, then slam it on the head'' Rayna tells me as I stare at the mace and chain. ''Oh go on Clove, c'mon" Marvel tells me. I shrug and pick up the wooden handle. I swing it above me head and wait foe further instruction of Rayna.
''Now'' she yells. I slam the mace on the dummies head. ''That was good, next this'' she says and takes the mace and spins around knocking dummies out of her way. She hands it to Marvel. He begins to swing, but Glimer and Cato catchs my eye. Cato is throwing spears and then he says something and Glimmer burst out laughing. She then batts her eyelashs and flicks her hair. Jelousy fills me as I try to breath and stop staring.
''Hey, hy don't we throw some spears?" Marvel asks as you can see sim itching to throw them. ''When there done...'' Rayna tells him. ''Wouldn't want to interupt there flirting feast'' she continues. I I've her a sad smile and she stares oddly at me.

''We're throwing knives next'' I say as I follow Marvel and Rayna to the spears. Jelousy stil fills me as Cato and Glimmer are shooting arrows. Well Glimmer's trying anyway. Rayna balances it in her hand, smiles before she throws it and it zooms its way into the 80 mark.
''Ah its just like a trident Clove'' Rayna tells me. 'I can't throw them either'' I say as I put my locket inside my training shirt, as it came out. ''Bathroom break'' Rayna says in a sing-song voice. She then skips to the bathroom.
I sigh and slowly pick up what looks like the lightest spear. I throw it with as much strenght as I can, it gets to the 20 mark. Pfft pathetic. I pick up another one determined to atleast get 70. Marvel comes up behind me and pulls the 'guy' move. His hand circles mine around the spear and his other goes around my stomach. I stiffen. ''Dont worry, I'm in love with Glimmer, its hard to watch her with Cato, and I think your jelous too'' he whispers in my ear. I star at him in shock. He then throws the spear in my hand. 85 mark.
''Thanks Marvel'' I say. I look around and see Cato glaring at us. ''Hey Clove, don't aim, just throw'' Cato yells from the other end of the room. I nod and grab a spear and throw it randomly at an area on the dummy. 70 mark, oh that works I squel and I can hear Cato laugh from the other end of the room.

At lunch Rayna sits across from me and Marvel is next to her. Cato and Glimmer come in and walk to were the food is. I poke at my salad angrily, I wish it was Glimmers face. Marvel looks so envious. I would aswell if I could see them. ''So do you have any sibilings?'' Marvel asks, probably wants to forget Glimmer. ''I have a brother who's 5 and a 13 year old sister, my cousin and aunt live with us though'' ''no parents?" Rayna asks me. ''Yeah my mother, isn't my mother anymore, and my fathers dead.'' ''Im sorry'' they say in unison.
''Im an only child, I live with both my parents and my girlfriend'' Marvel tells us. ''Wait didn't you say...'' he cuts me off. I thought he loved Glimmer. ''I do, but I love her more then my girlfriend''. I nod, what a player. ''Well both my parents are dead, I live with my 20 year old brother, he's handicape, that's why I volounteered, so if I win I can give him the life he always wanted'' Rayna tells us.
''Hey guys'' Cato says as he takes a seat next to me. ''Hi'' we all mumble Glimmer practically sits on his lap, he looks like he's not enjoying it. '' I was thinking that we could do the obstacle course after lunch'' Cato says and we all agree.

I sneer ar another weak tribute falls onto the floor. Cato and I last to go, Marvel and Glimmer were first. Rayna is done so is little Rue, she smiles at me. I realize that its my go. ''Go get em'' Cato whispers. I smile and run. I jump onto the first block.
I quickly jump onto the secong block and then the third. A man starts swinging a sword at my feet. I jump up and pupl my knees yo my chest. When I reach the ground I'm gone again. I put my hands down on the block which is a meter apart and swing my lrgs over my head and end up in the crab. I quickly get to the halfway. I can breathe now.
The next to brocks are free so I jump on them and ehen I make it to the third a man swings a mace at me. I scramble backwards then race forward. The last man has some sort of chain, he aims it to my head. I quickly spread my legs and bend my knees, I just miss it. I then jump off the blocks and make my way over to Rayna, Marvel and Glimmer.
'That was really good'' Rayna tells me. ''Thanks, ye were good aswell, all of ye'' I didn't mean Glimmer though she startes screaming. The girl from District 8, I think her name is Tille, has her mouth hung open gaping at us careers. I think she's 14.
''Cato that was amazing'' Glimmer cooes. He rolls his eyes. I was busy staring at Tille gaping at us then watching Cato. ''You were good out there'' Cato tells me. I smile. The five of us begin to walk away when I hear Rayna and Marvel laugh. Then I'm laughing. Bread boy or Peeta is after falling. We all snicker at him. Then fire girl aka katniss whispers something to him and he nods.
He makes his way to the weight balls, he picks up a heavy one. Glimmer and I cross our arms and then marvel. Cato, who stands to my left leaves him hands hanging down , so does Rayna. He throws the weight and hits a sword rack. Marvel drobs his hands in shock, Glimmer gaps at him. Cato huffs and Rayna let's out a tiny gasp. I roll my etes, well you can see he's strong, I mean look at his arms. Glimmer stares at Cato waiting for him to say something, when he doesn't she flicks one of her golden fishtail braids over her shoulder.

We have one hour left, I'm grateful for that. I'm sweaty, and hungry and oh so tierd. I need a hot shower. I look around, I'll do knives tomorrow. Can I light a fire, yes. Can I do camoflauge, eh kinda. I decide to spend the hoour on my own at the edible plants. I slowly make my way over, Eliza, the girl from 5 is just leaving. Then district 12 catch my eye, there tying knots.
The trainer looks to me about 38 smiles at me. ''Hiya'' she smiles. ''Hi'' I say giving her a small smile. ''Ok what I want you to do is put what's edible in herem' she says handing me a bucket. Most of these are from district 2. About 25% I have never seen. I pick up a large blue berry and roll it in my hand I put it down, I think its posionous.
''Very good that's Nightlock, very dangerous'' it ends up I got 80% right. Were done for the day and almost evryone is gone. Rayna and Eamon are just leaving, Rayna waves to me. I wave back. Rue then smiles at me and i smile back at her, she then rushs to keep up with Thresh. I walj over to Cato who is patientlly waiting for me.
We step into the elevator and he presses the button labeled 2. ''What do you think of one?'' He asks me. '' Glimmers a slut and Marvel's goofy'' I say as he laughs. The doors open and we step out. ''How was it?" Enobaria asks us. ''Great district 1 is with us and the girl from four.'' Cato replies. ''What did ye cover'' she asks. We tells her everything from me doing edible plants to Peeta. I don't say a word about Rue though.
We walk of to shower. ''See you at dinner' Cato calls as he dissapers into his room. I step into the shower and think about Carlee. Imagine what he must go through. I think of Ilayna losing her parents, Raynas handicaped brother and Marvels girlfriend at home, praying for him to come home when he doesn't even love her.
I get out and dry my hair and body with the air vent. I put my hir back in a tight ponytail, I slip on green skinny jeans and a white short sleeve top. I put on black heels and rush down to the table, putting on my jewellery on the way.
I sit next to Cato who is talking to Clayton. ''I like what your wearing hunny'' Clara tells me nodding at me approvingly. ''Thanks'' Brutus then walks in, grabs a platr of food and walks out. I shrug and Ilayna puts a bowl of red soup infront of me. ''Thanks'' I say. She smiles and places a bowl infront of Cato. He thanks her and starts eating, I do too. Its really nice, I continue to eat as Enobaria starts talking to Darcy about the interviews.

After dinner I decide to have an early night. ''Night everyone'' I say, ''night Clove'' I quickly walk to my room locking the locking the door. I throw my heels on the ground and strip off my clothes. I slip into a mustard colour silk nightgown. Leaving my hair up I fall onto my bed.
I crawl under the covers. I look at the pictures in my locket, by the time I get to Maysilee, I'm crying. Bristle and Clarice are next. I always wondered why they trained for the games when they didn't want t volunteer. Aparently there parents forced them.
I then fall asleep crying.

I woke up screaming, I had a nightmare where my mother killed Ronnie, Kalen, Hayzelle and Izabelle. I shake my head and make my way to the bathroom. I splash cold water on my face. I then unlock my door and head to Cato's room
I knock on the door and he opens it. ''Couldn't sleep? '' he asks. 'No, you?" I ask. ''No c'mon in'' I smile and slip in. I sit on the floor gazing out his window at the stars. He sits next to me and holds his knees up to his chest. I cross my legs and just watch the night sky.
''I'll get us both out, I promise, I won't let you die, or myself'' he softly says.''I know that's impossible, but ok''
He gently rubs my face with his thumb and I swear I see tears in his eyes. This cause tears to drip down my face. 'Shh'' he says. He wipes away my tears. Then ever so slwly, he leans in.
My heart beats loudly as more tears flood my eyes. That when I feel his soft lips against mine.the sparks fly. My eyes slowly shut as I enjoy the kiss. Our lips move in sync. My hands find there way around his neck. He pulls me up onto his lap not breaking the kiss once.
We stay there for hours; kissing. And I'm delighted to say we are now offically dating. I fall asleep in his arms. This is heaven. I'm dating the boy I love.
