When I arrived Daeun kinda threw herself onto me as she was the one who showed me around the school.
Then Jeno and I just had so many classes together and then I guess I just got to know all their friends.
I'm not the best with making new friends so it was nice to have those two to push me

Mari sighed and closed her eyes, dropping her hands onto her abdomen as she allowed for the warm air expelling from the heater above to warm her body up.
Legs hanging off her bed as the reminisce of last nights drink still lingered in her system. She wasn't necessarily hung over, but the weighted feeling of the pretty much 60% vodka, 40% lemonade that Jeno fixed up for her was settling uncomfortably in her stomach.
Her curtains were drawn to block out the blinding Sunday sun that was threading to break through the cracks on the side.
There was a moment of silence, serenity filling her room as she tried to ignore the heaviness of remaining liquid in her system.
That was until her annoying pubescent brother barged into her room with the most obnoxious "hello" you would have ever seen.
The loud sound caused the girls face to screw up at the unwelcoming sound, waiting for another boisterous sound to fill the air but instead she was met with silence.
About to open her eyes to investigate, the weighted feeling of her brother falling on top of her stomach became prevalent.
His rather long body for his height meant he was heavy than the average 14 year old boy, and that sure was prevalent as he laid nonchalantly on the girls stomach.
A groan left her lips at the unexpected impact of the boy trapping her to the bed.
"Hey smelly," was all he said and the girl managed to pry open one of her eyes to look at the boy who was playing a game on his phone.
"Can you like, get off? You're as heavy as an elephant," the girl grumbled out, out of breath from the weight placed on top of her stomach.
The boy let out a groan before wiggling his way to the other side of her bed, his knee hitting her in the ribs to which she tried to push his off- which didn't really work as he was stronger than she was, which made no sense to her.
"What are you doing here booger breath," she spoke distastefully at her brother that pretty much took up her whole bed.
"Uh, can I not spend time with my sister?" He asked feigning offence, barely looking up from his game and the girl sighed.
"I guess you can spend time with me-"
"Good because I need to ask you a question," Minsu interrupted her, turning his phone off automatically and placing it under his leg as he gave all his attention to his sister.
Mari's eyebrows drew together, looking at her brother skeptically as she awaited the question.
"Yeah?"
After Mari gave him the all right to ask his question, there was a visible hesitation that lingered on his form. Bringing his legs up to cross them as he reached over to grab hold of her stuffed, slightly mattered blue hippopotamus plushie.
"I just wanted to ask about the other day, y'know, when Donghyuck came over," he finally spoke and the girl looked down, heart heavy from the weight of the boy at mention.
"What about him?" Mari asked, her defensive side showing slightly to which she cursed at herself.
She knew she could be vulnerable to her brother, he had been there for her more than anything. Even if he was a terror and pain in the ass, he helped when no one else would- even if he didn't quite know it.
"No need to get defensive, geez," he said with pouted lips and the girl apologised.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude," Mari's heart grew heavier at the action of her subconscious self raising her walls.
"I just wanted to ask- Ma, like are you okay?" He began, feeding lightly with his tone and words as he examined the girl in front of him. "Because from the looks of it, you didn't know he was moving from Jeju and I thought you guys ended on good terms."
A silence filled the air as she tried to figure out what to say, her heart heavy at the truth that hid behind the walls she built so high, her breath shallow in thought, "I- I honestly don't know how I feel kiddo. Like, seeing him brought back so many memories- of him... of her... of us." Tearing her eyes from the burning gaze on the ground, she looks up to her brother watching as he played with the matted ear of the old plushie.
"I don't know how I feel because every time I see him I get a vivid evocation of that day and it makes seeing him feel... weird I guess, I'm not quite sure. I guess spending two years away from each other resurfaces a lot of memories," she speaks truthfully and the boy just hums in acknowledgement.
"I thought you two like, kept in touch," he looked up to her and she sucked in a sharp breath.
How could she tell her brother of the truth, that the boy he idolised so much as a brother figure was something of a stranger to her now.
"Well, you see, as we moved it got a lot harder to keep in contact with each other. He had his life and I had mine, so I guess we just drifted apart," that was a lie, and her stomach was churning with a heavy weight that joined the erratic beating of her heart as she plainly told her brother a story that was far from the truth.
"I'm sorry Ma," he said lowly, drifting his attention down to the toy in his hands.
A confused look sketches itself of the girls face as she adjusts her position to fully face the boy.
"Why are you sorry kiddo?"
"It's just- the other day when he came over I was just so excited, it had been so long since I had seen him and i thought you two were on good terms. I didn't even think about your emotions and if my intrusion was affecting you," he said rather emotionally, his voice small in comparison to his usually boisterous tone.
"Awwww Min," Mari cooed our, moving closer to the boy and bringing him into a hug, to which he returned.
It hadn't occurred to the girl that this had been on his mind and obviously for a while with how raw his voice was."It's okay, quite frankly I'm glad you interrupted us and took him away, I was quite tired from school and couldn't handle his energy," she slightly laughed, the vibrations hitting the boys shoulders which made a smile pull onto his lips too.
"If you don't want me to play games with him anymore I understand," Minsu shot up, eyes wide in worry that his bond with the old friend would affect her.
A small smile pulled at the girls lips as she placed a hand onto her brothers shoulders.
"Kiddo, I know how much you like the boy so i don't really mind."
The wide smile on his face made her come to the realisation that maybe she should push away all the memories and feelings and try for her brother. Keep the lie alive so long as he doesn't worry.
He might be the biggest shit head ever to exist, but seeing him emotional over her emotions hit a string in her heart she hadn't felt since the day he found out the news.
His little 12 year old body crashing into her figure in a bawling mess as the girl stood there hollow, tear stained cheeks and red eyes.
A protective instinct washed over her in that moment, not wanting him to experience the weight of the knowledge she kept from him.
So she had to try, for him, for her friends too who had grown a liking to the exuberant boy.
Maybe, perhaps, she should try for herself. But that was a possibility for another day.
"Hey," the girl nudged his arm and he looked up to her, eyes big and sparkly.
"Why don't we go get slushies."
