“Trust is like a paper once it's crumpled it can't be perfect again.”- Unknown

I looked away from my phone and saw Nick waving and motioning me to come and sit down. What a coincidence that he sends a message to Trinity and I just so happened to walk in the room and my phone just so happened to go off when he sends it.

I slowly walked to the table and sat across from him. He smiled looking up from his phone again and put it back in his pocket, “Hi Ally.” He greeted looking at me.

“Hey Nick.” I greeted sitting across from him.

“What’s up?” He asked politely with an adorable smile. Okay I guess there’s nothing it freak out about.

I smirk literally looking up, “Well technically the ceiling.”

He chuckled nodding his head, “Amusing.”

I shrugged smiling on my own, “So Nick, what’s going on?” I said correctly.

"Oh nothing." he said nervously turning the coffee cup he had in his hands. He sighed smiling and then chuckled faintly, "Honestly, I don't care how creepy this may sound but you just seem interesting to talk to."

I laughed as one of the waitress walked over with a coffee mug and a pot of coffee. I honestly didn't drink coffee much, but when I did it was always in the morning when I felt dead and not motivated to go to school. "You say that a lot but somehow I don't find that very creepy."

He snickered shrugging his shoulders and looking at the coffee cup in his hands. This Nick seemed to be a total opposite of the Nick I-well Trinity- talk to on iPage. This Nick seemed quiet and nervous; the Nick from iPage seemed more open, bubbly, flirty, and talkative.

"You ever watch the movie Alice in Wonderland?" I asked trying to make up conversation.

I could tell this was random and amusing to him with the giant smile he was trying to hold back, "I can't say I have." he admitted looking up from his coffee cup.

"Well you should. It's a pretty great movie. My favorite version is the cartoon one from 1951, but Johnny Deep plays a good Mad Hatter." I stated taking a sip of hot coffee.

"I'll keep that in mind." he nodded still smiling. He really does have a beautiful smile, I thought.

"Your turn." I simply said taking another sip of coffee.

"My turn for what?" he asked tilting his head to the side.

"To bring up a random topic. Anything you want, just say it." I explained hoping this would turn up to be a funny night.

"Have you ever read the book Dracula?" He started off simply, taking a moment to think about something.

"I can't say I have." I said just like he did.

"Don't. Trust me it's the most horrific book you'll ever read. If you ever have to read it for school though, just look it up in SparkNotes." He said in all honesty that made me laugh. "Don't get me wrong I love old book and plays and all that stuff, Dracula seems pretty cool too but, honest to God, I recommend burning it."

I covered my mouth slightly so my laugh didn't seem so loud. I can tell this is going to be an interesting night already, "Alright now twenty questions, go."

He bit the bottom of his lip trying to stop smiling like a fool, he looked down at his coffee cup for a moment but quickly brought his head up to stare at me, "What's your favorite movie in the whole wide world?"

I looked at him with wide eyes wincing, "You're asking me to choose one?" He laughed at my struggle. Really I had no favorite movie, I liked anything that was interesting, packed with action, and hey, throw some comedy in there too and it's a hit for me. "Okay I think I have to say it’s The Breakfast Club, for an older movie anyway. My new favorite hit though is The Amazing Spiderman and my favorite new musical is Pitch Perfect."

"Those aren't bad choices." he nodded approvingly, "I guess I'll go with Elf. No matter what time of year it is I can always pop that in and put it on replay. The Godfather, you can't say no to the one. But my newest favorite has to be The Hobbit."

I nodded my head approving some of his choices, and giggling at others. I held the hot cup of coffee in my hands and thought of a question, "If you could meet any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?"

"Justin Bieber, no doubt about it and no hesitation!" He said without out even thinking about it.

I laughed throwing my head back in the chair while trying to keep my coffee cup steady and not spill it, "You’re kidding!" I accused shaking my head. "Honest to God not even I like Justin Bieber!"

"What? No way, you look like a total diehard fan girl!" He accused pointing at me.

"Looks can be deceiving." I pointed back. He nodded once thinking about it.

"Touché. Now what about you?" he asked taking a sip of his own coffee.

"Oh gosh there's so much to choose from." I snickered, him copying me right after, "Oh my, hm, Betty White, or Rebel Wilson aka Fat Amy." He laughed shaking his head, "Or One Direction, the cast of Twilight and or Vampire Diaries."

"Oh so you're one of those girls." He mocked laughing.

“I am one of those girls." I repeated with an embarrassing laugh, "Come on if you get to meet Justin Bieber than I so want to meet a hotter band of boys!"

"Fine, fine, it's your wish. What's the one noise you can't stand?" he asked as I shifted in my chair. I pulled my knees to my chest and rest the coffee mug on my knee thinking.

"Oh! Metal scrapping against teeth! Oh my God that like shivers down my spine! When someone is like eating with a utensil and hits or scraps their teeth." I shivered just thinking about it.

"That is so strange! He laughed, "I can't stand parrots or blenders-"

"And you say mine is strange?!" I laughed trying not to cause a commotion, "How do you drink milk shakes?" I asked frantically thinking about it.

"I drink them! I don't make or listen to them though." He chuckled rolling his eyes, "This is getting weird. I expected this night to go totally different."

“How so?” I asked tracing my index finger around the brim of the cup.

“I don’t know. I guess I thought it’d be awkward or something. I know for sure I didn’t expect us to play Twenty Questions or be laughing our asses off.” He explained looking down at his cup again nervously.

“I guess I’m just a good entertainer.” I smiled biting my bottom lip. What I really wanted to say was: I guess I’m a good first date. But obviously that would have been a bit creepy. I mean he specifically said this was a hangout not a date. Which I guess I have to say I didn’t mind.

“How did you know me? You know that day at the football game.” Nick says bringing up a horrible subject. Oh shit what do I say now?!

“Oh, that night.” I stammered, “Um, I really didn’t honestly. You just…. looked familiar.” I lied. Oh yeah, that was just the best lie I could come up with, great job Ally! I could fail at being a spy.

“Really? That’s funny. And my name just so happened to be Nick too so what a coincidence.” He indicated with a tiny laugh of his own. I so far was just praising my thank you Jesus, chants in my head that he believed the little white lie.

“I know what are the chances?” I repeated giving a little giggle of my own. I lifted my coffee cup up to my lips looking at him as I did it.

He watched me with a dazed look and finally murmured something along the lines of, “You’re really pretty.”

I couldn’t help but blush and bit the bottom of my lip. My grin was hidden behind the coffee mug my thoughts squealing with joy; oh my God did he really just say that out loud? Did he even notice he just said that?

“Did I just say that out loud?” He asked a bit in a panic. He blushed a great red tripping over his words for an apology, “I didn’t mean- I was thinking- I mean you are- I didn’t say- pretty-but I really did- Uh…”

I giggled thinking about how nervous he acted over messages and how close it was to reality. It was much cuter in person to see him struggle over something so innocent, “You’re cute when you stutter.” I giggled wanting to say that since we first talked over Facebook.

He blushed a bit darker looking away and smiling. Darn he’s just so cute! Can I pick them or what? “Thanks.” He murmured really quietly.

I smiled bobbing my head, tapping my fingers on the green glass mug in my hands. “So. What’s up with you these days?” I said trying to change the subject.

Gratefully relieved he sighed taking a glance at me, “School and stuff you know, being a teenager and all.” He answered basically, “What about you? What do you do after school and such? You know that I’m a stage junky.”

That made me laugh, “Well I play soccer for school. Not a total athletic junky but I enjoy it and it keeps me in shape.” I answered him honestly, something I haven’t been doing lately so it felt good to actually tell him something truthful about me.

“That’s pretty cool. At least you’re out there and you enjoy it.” He told fumbling with his fingers.

“I do.” I said looking down at my coffee cup. It was almost empty, and do you know where all that coffee was being stored now? Yep, that’s right in my bladder! And the one thing you have to know about me is I can absolutely not hold coffee in my bladder for long!

Well this is going to be embarrassing, “Will you excuse me for a minute. I’m going to use the bathroom.” I said getting up slowly and positioning myself in a correct stance.

“Sure, of course.” He said letting me go. I shuffled my feet to the bathroom, throwing open the door and into a stall. After using the toilet I went up to the sink and washed my hands. I checked myself in the mirror and took a quick peek at my phone to make sure I hadn’t missed any calls or texts yet, but what I found was more surprising, it was already 9:58! We’ve been talking and giggling for the past 3 hours!

Another thing too, my message from iPage was still unread. I took a deep breath readying myself to read the message.

Nick: So I asked that girl out… Remember Ally? We’re going to have coffee soon… well like now actually. I thought I’d just let you know so you don’t freak out when I’m not on. ;) Don’t know when I’ll be back so talk to you tomorrow? Possibly? Night Trint :)

That wasn’t so bad. Could have been weirder or worse. Jeez I don’t even know what to reply back- and of course I do….

Me: OH! It’s ok! I’m at a party anyways (no surprise there lol) didn’t get your message till now sorry BUT GOOD LUCK! :D Don’t be boring! :P Tell her she’s pretty or funny, girls like that! HEY I CAN BE YOUR WING GIRL! :D This is awesome! You’ll have to tell me about it later! Lol HAVE FUN!!!! Xoxo

Hey, I had to put in a good word for me at least, right? And be a little bit of Trinity too. Trinity hasn’t been to a party for a while anyways so things turned out well. I put my phone back in my pocket but not before texting Luke to see if he was done with whatever he was doing. It was getting pretty late out with my parents not knowing where I was now.

I walked back to the table sitting in my seat when Nick looking back up from his phone with a grin on his face. I can see that “Trinity” put a smile on his face. “Sorry I was just checking a message.”

“Oh its okay, I don’t mind.” I waved, resting my phone on the table to hold my cup in my hands again. Now it was very hot and filled up to the middle. Someone must have refilled it when I was gone.

He put his phone back in his pocket again with a little smile on his face. Before I knew what he was doing it was already too late. My phone was now in the hands of Nickolas Landon, a smirk on that boys face. On my face however, was a panicking look that only I knew about. Because I’m pretty sure I think I forgot to log off iPage!

Holy shit I’m exposed! My cover is blown! Abort mission abort! Why Ally, why!? Stupid, stupid, stupid, stu-

“Aw, you have a password on it. No fair!” Nick whined, pouting his bottom lip adorably.

Thank you dear, dear Steve Jobs for creating the password option for iPhones!

“Oh yeah sorry, put that on there for the brothers.” I chuckled thankfully taking it from him. I quickly typed in the four number password, iPage was still up like I had predicted so I logged off and closed it down erasing my history in the process too. “So what do you want from my phone?” I asked waving it around slightly.

He grabbed it easily with a simple smirk on his face. I waited patiently for a few moments when he finally gave it back, “Now you have my number.” He mentioned as I looked around my phone for the change.

“Ah, well that’s better than Facebook.” I joked putting my phone back down.

“So you said brother?” He questioned taking a long sip of his coffee.

Brothers.” I said pluralizing it, “Oh yeah, two of them. I’m the middle baby.”

“Well isn’t that fun. I have one younger sister, she’s thirteen.” He told me.

“Ooo, those teenage years.” I teased playfully earning a laugh.

“Oh don’t I know it. Whiney, hormonal, and bitchy all in one small girl.” He joked as we both laughed.

“I can top your trump with seven year old tantrums.” I said smirking.

“Ouf, I don’t miss those days at all.” He sympathized shaking his head.

“He’s getting better….ish.” I laughed shrugging my shoulders. He laughed along as my phone vibrated on the table making us both look over to it.

A text from Luke popped up:

Pick u up in 30 mins

I replied back with a simple k, and continued talking to Nick a little longer. He told me a really funny story about him and his sister when they had went sledding one time and how he pushed his sister down the hill and she rolled and tumbled down. The way he was explaining it made it amusing to listen to.

I covered my mouth slightly so my laugh didn't seem so loud. This night so far has been very interesting, "Have you ever been ice skating at the pond downtown?" I asked.

"I have once. I fell on my ass many times but I can't say I'm proud of that." he answered as we both laughed a bit.

"I think this was a dare but one time I went and I saw a teenage boy in a pink tutu dancing and skating. I'm pretty sure it was a dare because he didn't look too happy about it and there was a group of boys on the sides dying of laughter and taking videos and pictures. Best moment of my life, really."

"I know who you are talking about!" He gasped snapping his fingers together, "That was Jimmy Rondo! And I know it too cause I was the one that dared him to!"

We both started laughing up again. There was no turning back I just could not hold back my laughter anymore. Tears were streaming down my face and his face was red from lack of air, "That's so horrible but so funny." I managed to say trying to stop my laughter.

"Hey a bet was a bet. He lost and the funny part too is it was over some stupid pro football game we had watched the night before." He commented his laughter dying down but a huge smile on his face.

"That's just too good." I spoke whipping away one tear out of the corner of my eye. The phone vibrated again on the table, both our heads snapping to it as I mentally groaned picking it up. I knew it was Luke texting me to go but I honestly didn’t want to leave this spot. Even though we were having pointless and basic conversations I couldn’t help but be having a great time with Nick. I could stay here all night and know I would be entertained.

“Well that’s my ride.” I mentioned texting Luke back that I’d be there in a few minutes.

“What time is i- Oh, I didn’t know it was this late.” He chuckled looking at his phone. I looked at mine too. It was almost midnight! Holy cow! I’m going to be chewed up when I get home!

“Wow, yeah it’s really late.” I giggled, “Guess we were just having too much fun.”

“Defiantly. We’ll have to do this again soon.” He mentioned pulling on a jacket.

I nodded my head standing up and stretching a bit, “Defiantly.” I answered back pushing in my chair.

We walked out together into the dark cold night; the only light was coming from the street or the now empty coffee shop. I wonder how long that place is open for.

“Well, have a good night Ally. Sorry about all the weirdness, I guess I was just a bit nervous.” He admitted scratching the back of his neck.

“Don’t worry about it. I had fun anyways. Your nervousness is….cute and entertaining.” I responded turning away slightly spotting Luke’s car parked idly by the curb.

He laughed nodding his head as I started walking away, “Good night Nick.” I called walking away.

“Goodnight. Oh and Ally!” He shouted making me stop and turn on my heels. I faced him waiting, once again looking nervous like he always did. “I meant what I said earlier… You are pretty.”

I smiled at him kindly walking a few steps to him and kissed his cheek, “Thanks Nick.”

He smiled brightly, his blue eyes really sparkly and beautiful. “Good night.” He whispered again.

“Night.” I called out walking back to the car. I couldn’t help but have a smile on my face the whole ride home.

Nick was a really great guy. He had a great sense of humor and really polite and I had an enjoyable night with him. But Nick Landon, this Nick Landon was different than the one on iPage. He was a different person in the real world and that wasn’t a bad thing at all. The one thing I learned about Nick Landon tonight was that the more time I spent with him, the quicker I had feelings for him. And once I felt those feelings I felt guilty because of the whole Trinity Scott thing.

I was going to tell Nick about it… eventually. Or maybe, just maybe I wouldn’t have to and it would work all on its own.
