At the end of the first week, I got the third text from the boy.
I had went to the bathroom on the first day of school during lunch, when I heard violent sobs coming out of one of the stalls.
I remember thinking, who would hurt a kid on the first day of school, enough to make them cry?
I had asked him if he was alright, but he just told me to go away. I left my number, hoping he would message me.
He had messaged me twice since then.
I was in my bed, on tumblr, scrolling, when I heard the ding from my phone.
I opened my messages, seeing it was from the 'mysterious boy'.
(Tyler's messages- bold. The boy- italic)
Can I talk to you?
Sure, what's wrong?
I'm sad and scared
Why are you scared?
Because he is here.
Who's he?
I can't tell you.
What has he done to you?
Pause.
He hits me.
That's not okay! Why??
He hates me. He wants me the way he does.
He shouldn't be treating you like that. Why don't you call the cops? You should live your life the way you want to.
He's supporting me. Without him I'd be on the streets.
Can we talk about something else please?
Okay then. What do you like?
Nutella.
We continued like that, friendly banter. I feel like if we were friends we'd get on really well.
He eventually told me he was going to bed and thanked me for changing his day.
I fell asleep, feeling happy that I changed someone's day from raining to sunny.

I hate writing fillers because I never know what to write in them. I was so close to deleting this story, but.....
