Friday 8/19
I stuff my clothes in my suitcase , along with my toothbrush, shoes , and perfumes then zip it up and grab any extra items and put them in the other pockets of the beg .
I unlock my phone and look at my ticket confirmation for a flight back to Chicago and smile proudly .
I refuse to be stuck in LA for a week and spend my vacation with satans nephew !
Von was so out of pocket yesterday and said a lot of hurtful unnecessary things that I didn't even know would still hurt my feeling being that I thought I was over him . But when he kept bringing his child up , and said I disgusted him , that's what hurt the worst . I don't think anything can cut deeper than hearing those words from someone you were once in love , planned a future , and wanted a child with . But I guess none of that meant anything to him so that's fine I'll just leave .
Then asian had the nerve to try to act like she's running the house . Hoe he don't even like you ! Welll ... he doesn't like me either , but he really doesn't like her and it shows ! She's so damn annoying and I know that's the only reason he brought her downstairs. To irritate me and make me break down in front of them , and I'll be dammed if I do that again .
It's clear that There will never be a Kennedy and Von again and that's completely fine . I'm glad I finally got the clarity I needed so that I won't be stuck on something that's nots happening .
Now I can go back home , erase Von from my mental completely, and start a brand new fresh life with Daniel . Period !
"Kennedy why are you making all this noise ?" My mother asks walking into the room . She looks down at my bags and huffs loudly . "And where do you think your going ? "
"Back to Chicago !" I answer sternly .
She rolls her eyes and shakes her head "Kennedy it's to early for you to be throwing one of your stubborn little bitch fits " she says and I gasp .
"I'm not throwing a bitch fit " I defend myself "you weren't there yesterday when- "
"Yes I know , I know. You and your lil boy toy we're arguing like two school kids with crushes on each other and things went to far . That shit getting old Kennedy be an adult " she sighs
"He's not my boy toy and it's all durks fault , I didn't even want to be around him " I tell her . Durk definitely set me up and he's cut off until further notice .
"You know what ? I'm not dealing with you today , I'm in California with my grandbaby having a good time and I refuse to let you or anyone else ruin it " she rambles "INDIA ! " she yells .
A few moments later india appears in the doorway holding willow . "Yes momma ?" She questions
"Please talk to your sister in law , she being annoying as hell and it ain't even twelve yet " she groans taking willow out of India's hands and walking out the room .
I roll my eyes as india chuckles while sitting on the bed . "Kennedy what's wrong girl ? " she asks me
I stop what I'm doing and stare at her with a stale face "don't act like you ain't know what Durk was planning to do yesterday "
She fake gasps and shakes her head "I had no idea " she says and I mug her " okay fine I knew , but it was supposed to work I swear he can't execute one thing " she sighs
"India ? " I question shockingly "why would y'all try to set me up ?" I ask her
"It wasn't necessarily a set up " she drags out and I stale face her "okay fine we tried to set YALL up"
" but I told y'all I didn't want to see him " I whine
"I know Kennedy but we know y'all miss each other and to be honest we miss y'all being together to " she whines back
I roll my eyes and look away "he doesn't miss me " I mumble thinking about our encounter yesterday . "In fact I think he hates me "
"It was that bad huh?" She asks with a concerned look on her face
"Yeah but I expected it " I shrug "especially after I seen him walk in with asian and his daughter " I start to tear up
"Awe ken nah "she shakes her head " he doesn't hate you , he's just emotional right now because y'all haven't seen each other in a long time "
"No you didn't hear the way he talked to me " my voice shakes "he said he was disgusted with me and from the look on his face he meant it "
"Damn disgusted ? " she questions and I nod "why would he say that ? "
I look off to the side and start scratching the back of my neck " I may have brought up Clarence and Daniel once .." I Mumble " or twice "
" Kennedy why in the hell would you do that ?" She palms her face
"Because ! He started it " I whine .
"Oh my god y'all are both some big ass children " she laughs " i don't know why you being so Difficult, y'all are practically the same person. You guys belong together "
"No he made it totally clear we'll never be together again and you know what? " I start " im Fine with it "
She huffs and looks at me "so you finna run back to Chicago and act like nothing ever happened again , cause it didn't work the first time

"What am I supposed to do india ?" I question " we've grown out of each other I can't keep lingering "
"Your supposed to stay here and hold your head up high and stop running away from your problems" she explains "plus if y'all were truely done with each other you would be able to sit in a room together cordially without arguing or staring at each other like he wanna taste or sumn "
I chuckle a little and shake my head " we don't even do that " I lie
"Yeah whatever " she laughs "don't run Kennedy " she says seriously"stay here and show him what he's missing . I listen to her words and nod a little . Everytime something doesn't go how I want I run and try to start over when really if I just handle my problems the first time I wouldn't have to worry about them resurfacing again like this Von situation.
Maybe if I just finally bury the hatchet I can completely forget about him , asian , his kids , and the life we once had . A year might've not been enough time , but this week is .
"Your right " I nod at her " I need to settle this once and for all "
"Exactly " she smiles " so you cool now ? "

"And you don't mind him being around ? " she asks and I hesitate a little .
"I mean I already saw him once , I don't think any other encounters can be worse then the one yesterday so yeah " I say honestly
"Good " she smirks "cause last night he told Durk he's having a pool party and invited us to go "
"Oh " I say quietly " he invited y'all ? "
"Us " she corrects me " he specifically said 'and make sure your sister comes ' " she mocks his voice a little and I can't help but laugh . But I'm also a little afraid . If he's actually expecting me today , it's no telling what he has planned , but I plan to match his energy . Let's do it ! Round two !
