Chapter 16 - The Friend

"No time, I need you to learn this." Olivia was jittery, maybe it was the coffee maybe it was the no sleep. Either way she felt like she could do this, but she needed to do it now. She handed Julie a bit of paper with all the piano bits and harmony's high lighter.

Julie looked it over her eyes going wide when she realised she was going it do it. Julie knew this meant she had to hold up her end of the bargain. "So you're going to." Olivia cut her off hands shaking as she did.

"Yes but we need to do it soon before this feel runs out or I'll lose the nerve." She turned to look at herself in the mirror as Julie read over the song. 

She felt like maybe she should have made more of an effort than her usual blue mom jeans and band tee but her brain was a scrambled mess this morning and it was all she could mange. She turned back round to Julie.  

"Ok, Ok, breathe for two seconds, you want me to perform it too?" Julie said surprise in her voice, she knew the boys where helping but she hadn't realised Olivia would want her to perform too, not that she minded.

"Yes of course!" The red head said sitting down on the bed next to Julie. "Alex and Luke are great but they're not you." 

"Then I guess we better get to work, you've got a boy to win." Julie said picking up her keyboard and placing it on the bed in front of her.

"Well a ghost." Olivia said as the both laughed.

"Guys!" Olivia burst thought studio doors Julie not far behind her, she was laughing at her friends new found confidence. 

The boys where laying around on the couch and floor not doing a whole lot, startled when she burst in on them.

"Reginald I need you to leave for 5 minutes please." She said looking at him laying on the floor.  

He stitched his eye brow together confused, getting up and making his way over to her, standing in front of her. "What? Why? What's going on you've been acting weird all weekend."  

She needed him to leave so she could get ready, she couldn't do with him questioning her right now, she wasn't sure she'd be able to keep it together for too much longer. "Please?" She looked straight into his eyes not looking away for a second. "I'll explain in a minute but please can you go outside."

He didn't say anything else just turned and walked out into the garden. 

"So we're doing this now?" Luke said getting up from the couch walking over to the guitar next to Julies keyboard as she sat down.

"No time like the present Lukey boy." Olivia said walking over to Alex. 

"What's up with her?" Luke said leaning down to whisper in Julies ear, a shiver going down her spine as she felt his breathe on her neck.

"Something about 10 coffees this morning, I think its nerves manifesting into something.....weird." She said quickly sitting down trying to clear her own mind. 

"Are you ok?" Alex said to the redhead who was picking up a chair and moving it in front of the mic stand.

"Yeah I think so, I feel like if I don't do this now I wont ever do it" She said taking a deep breathe getting closer to him so she could whisper. "and if I don't do this then those two weren't even work it out either." They both looked over to the other two setting up.

"Ok Reggie you can come back in." Olivia shouted and he poofed back in the studio landing right in front of her. "I need you to sit down please" She said looking at the chair behind him.
