A/N - This chapter is based on the song 'You're Still The One' by Shania Twain. I hope you all enjoy it.

"I bet they'll never make it." The whispers had become rather common since you had announced your marriage, varying from simple throw away comments to venomous mutterings that left you a little off balance as you attempted to push them out of your mind. Either way, they weren't welcome where you were concerned. You loved your husband to be, and no one was going to scare you away from him, no matter how cruel their comments. "He'll break her long before her time," the woman continued, a short girlish giggle following her comment.

Her friend didn't join in the laughing, releasing a soft sigh. "The poor girl doesn't know what she's letting herself in for," she uttered, and you could almost picture the frown on her lips. "I give her a month before she goes running back to her father begging him to fix it for her," she added, and at that you had let out a sharp chuckle of your own, catching their attention.

When you glanced up at them they floundered for a moment, looking so uncomfortable that you almost pitied them. Almost. You smiled sweetly at them, letting out a final breathy chuckle. "I'm sorry," you started, shaking your head slightly. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but when I heard the topic of conversation I just couldn't help myself," you continued, watching as the younger of the two girls shifted on the spot, her eyes fixed on the ground like a child being scolded by her Septa.

"If you listened to everything people said about you, you'd never get a moments peace," the older woman uttered, her eyes all squinty as she offered you a faux smile. "You're a popular topic at the moment," she added, and you nodded your agreement.

"And don't I know it," you chuckled. "I can't go anywhere without being stared at like some prized pig." You paused for a moment, your smile fading slightly as you fixed them in place with a stare of your own. "The only problem is that everyone seems to be a little confused as to the situation. They've gotten their facts a little wrong."

The woman snorted at your comment, shaking her head. "The sweet little Tyrell girl is marrying The Hound. Am I wrong?"

"Oh no, you've got that right. I'm definitely marrying Sandor." You paused for a moment as a proud tight-lipped smile spread across her face. "But-" you started again, a small chuckle following the word, "- I am well aware of the man my betrothed is. I am not some naive child and he is not nearly the monster you make him out to be."

The younger girl raised an eyebrow at you, finally building up some sort of courage to join the conversation for herself. "If you think that then you clearly don't know him," she bit out.

Another peel of laughter burst out of you at her comment, her eyes widening as you shook your head, your hand resting on your chest as you attempted to compose yourself. "Sandor and I have known each other since I was sixteen. We've only waited this long to marry so that my father could attend the wedding." The two women were silent for a moment as you continued to beam. "Trust me, I've heard the rumours, but I also know the reality of our situation better than anyone else in the world, and your little mutterings will never make me stop loving him." You smoothed out your skirts, offering the two women a final smile as the Sept bells chimed. "Seven Hells, is that the time?" you cried out. "You know, Sandor and I take tea together every afternoon at four and he'll be worried sick if I'm late, but I'm sure I'll see you ladies around."

*Time Skip*

Your bedroom was almost too quiet as you stirred awake, blinking into the semi-darkness until the world began to come into focus. The sun was barely up yet, and still you couldn't help but think you had overslept. Releasing a soft groan, your stretched and climbed out of bed, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes as you made your way over to the door of your bedroom.

As soon as the door was open, the silence was broken by soft whispers from voices you would recognise anywhere, and as you poked your head out into the living room a small smile came to your face. Sandor was bundled into his armchair facing towards the window, watching the sunrise, and in his lap was your daughter, huddled close to him to keep herself warm. You couldn't help but grin as his hand played with her hair, and then he was ducking his head, whispering something you couldn't quite hear into her ear.

Her head popped up a moment later, her eyes finding you on the other side of the room, and suddenly she was wriggling out of her father's grip and running to you. "Mummy," she cried loudly as she jumped up at you, causing a soft chuckle to fall from your lips. You scooped her up into your arms pressing a kiss to one of her cheeks as she smiled at you.

"Good morning, my little cherub," you uttered, moving further into the room with her resting on your hip. "How long have you been awake?"

The little girl shrugged as you placed her back on the floor, leaning down to press a kiss to Sandor's cheek.

"She came bounding into our room about an hour ago," he told you, linking his fingers with yours and drawing them to his mouth to give your knuckle a gentle kiss. "Thought I'd let you get a little extra sleep."

"So sweet," you teased, letting out another chuckle when he grumbled at your comment. In all honesty, he was one of the sweetest men you had ever met, and yet he still hated the term being applied to him. You shifted to perch in his lap, pressing another kiss to the underside of his jaw and nuzzling close to him. "My big softie," you murmured against his skin.

Sandor fought to hold back the contented sigh that slipped out of his lips as your daughter came to join the huddle, climbing into the space you had left between you. "My girls," he murmured, his arms wrapping around the two of you and bundling you closer to him.

Your daughter let out a peel of laughter as she shifted in his grip, causing you to fill with utter joy. You'd been true to your word and you'd continued loving Sandor through thick and thin, and that love had brought another perfect being into the world. You wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
