CHAPTER 3

DEAR SKYE...

I woke up the next morning and lay in bed thinking about the phone call I got last night. My thoughts were interrupted when Jen, Jeremy and Zac bursted through the doors and jumped on my bed, Jeremy and Zac plopped down beside me and Jen was leaning against my wall, eating an apple.

"Morning!" Zac yelled in my ear.

"Wakey Wakey!" Jeremy yelled in my other ear. I scrunched my nose and slapped my hands to my ears. I grabbed my pillow from underneath my head and shoved it in my face. I could hear them laughing their heads off.

"Go away!" I said through my pillow.

"Nice to see you too," I heard Jen say. Jeremy and Zac got up and I moved the pillow out of my face.

"Morning bed hair, nice," Zac said smirking. I heard a click and turned my head to Jeremy who was holding his phone up.

"Delete ! " I screamed and threw myself onto him. He jerked away but fell onto my bed. I sat on top of him trying to grab his phone from his hand but he kept swinging it around in the air.

"Whoa! Stop! Hey! Zac , catch!" He chucked it at Zac and he caught it and stared at my picture. I got off Jer and plopped backwards on my bed, giving up. I looked at Zac and Jen who were staring at the phone laughing. I flipped them the middle finger.

"What?" Jen said throwing her hands in the air and taking a bite of her apple.

"You look cute," Zac chuckled.

"Explains why your laughing your head off," I said.

"No no no," Jeremy said taking his phone back. "You do look cute. I'm keeping this."

"Light me on fire instead," I groaned. "Show me?"

"Fine, but don't delete it," Jeremy said handing his phone to me. I looked at it and groaned. My hair was fluffed at the top and the ends were pointing in every direction. The hoodie on my panda onesie was propped up near the back of my head making the little ears look like ears poking out of the side of my head. I sighed and shoved his phone back in his chest.

"I'm going to go brush my teeth," I said walking into the bathroom and slamming the door shut.

20 minutes later I joined Jen and my idiotic best friends in the kitchen.

They were making me breakfast.

"Pancakes?" Jeremy asked when he saw me.

"Why not?" I said pulling a stool out and sitting beside Jen who looked like she was enjoying her pancake.

"These are so good!" She said with a mouthful. She let out a moan and stuffed her mouth with some more.

"Wipe the chocolate syrup of your face Jen," Jeremy said laughing.

"Ew," Zac mumbled while flipping a pancake. Jen went red and wiped the syrup of her chin with the back of her hand. We all laughed at her.

"There's a note for you," Zac said making his way into the lounge. I followed him but stopped when he returned with a folded paper in his hands. "It was stuck on the mail box."

"Mailbox?" I said taking the folded paper. "What the hell? Why didn't you open it?"

"I was going to, but Jen stopped me," Zac said. "Well, open it."

I opened it and I narrowed my eyes in confusion. The color of the paper was black. At the bottom, written in white was my telephone number, yesterday's date, and a time which was 11:45 pm. I turned the paper over and written in silver ink was 'SKYLAR.'
