Nat's POV

The last 8 months had flown by. Each day I had gradually felt more and more like a whale, as my baby bump had grown bigger and bigger. I didn't mind, however, because I knew the reward at the end would be a newborn child.

I was currently in labor, holding Steve's hand for support. I screamed again as I pushed and the pain suddenly lessened. Screams filled the room as I breathed a sigh of relief. Steve went over and cut the cord whilst I was cleaned up.

A few minutes later the baby had also been cleaned up and the nurse brought it around, passing the baby to me.

"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers. It is a boy!" the nurse said excitedly as she walked out of the room to give us some space. I smiled down at the tiny child in my arms and Steve kissed my forehead as he looked down happily at the baby.

He took a photo of me and the baby and posted it on the Avengers group chat that we had set up ever since we stopped living in the same house as each other. His phone exploded with texts, so he muted it and came back over to us. All of the Avengers had been waiting excitedly for news after he had told them that I had gone into labor.

We stayed there for several minutes, just enjoying each other and the baby that we had created. I passed the baby to Steve to hold as I closed my eyes for a second. I was extremely tired after going through a 26-hour labor.

"What are we going to name him?" Steve asked, not taking his eyes away from the baby. I opened my eyes and thought about it for a second before the perfect name hit me.

"How about James Grant Rogers," I said smiling. He looked up at me and smiled knowing that I had named it after Bucky and used his middle name. Bucky would be so pleased that he got the baby named after him. No doubt Sam and him would have an all-out civil war over it, but James seemed fitting.

James had Steve's blonde hair and my emerald green eyes. He had been blessed with a lot of Steve's facial features too. He would no doubt turn out to be just as handsome as Steve.

There was a quiet knock at the door and Steve passed James back to me so that he could go and answer the door. A few minutes later he came back into the room with Emma in his arms. She had a massive smile on her face, she had been anticipating this day ever since we had first told her.

She jumped down from Steve's arms and carefully made her way up onto my bed. She crawled over to James and me. Clint had been caring for her in the hospital every since I got here and he had thankfully given us a few minutes as a family before he came in to meet James.

"Hey honey, do you want to hold your new baby brother?" I asked and watched as her eyes lit up. She sat cross-legged on the bed and held out her arms like a professional. Steve came closer and supported Emma as I passed him over to her.

Emma looked lovingly into James's eyes as she held him carefully. She was a complete natural with holding James, barely requiring assistance from Steve as she held him. I had a feeling that she would be a natural good big sister to him too.

"What's his name?" She asked, not taking her eyes off James. Oops, I had been so tired, I completely forgot to tell her his name.

"James Grant Rogers," Steve answered for me, realizing just how exhausted I really was. James had fallen asleep in Emma's arms, I forgot how little stamina newborn babies have.

Steve decided that he and Emma would go down the street and get some food to leave James and me to have a quick nap, before all of the other Avengers no doubt came in to meet little James.

I couldn't be more thankful for the nap and my eyes were closed before Steve and Emma had even walked out the door.

Exactly half an hour later James woke up and started crying. I reached over and pressed the nurse button. I had gone through early childhood with Emma and I knew that James was hungry but I didn't have a clue about breastfeeding.

The nurse came in and assisted me to feed James for the first time. Steve and Emma came in shortly after whilst I was still breastfeeding James. I smiled as they walked in, not even the slightest bit embarrassed, they would have to get used to it at home anyway.

Once James was finished, I wrapped him up tighter, right when there was another knock at the door. I knew that it was Clint even before he had walked in. He came over to us and cooed at James. He held him as he chatted with us, then left to go home for the night with the promise to be back tomorrow with his kids.

This process continued with all of the other Avengers as well for the next 3 days that we spent in the hospital. We went home and I couldn't be more grateful to be home where I could have a proper shower and be comfortable again.

Steve and I sat on the couch that night as the end credits rolled on the movie we had been watching. We both had a sleeping child in our arms. Steve leaned over and kissed me softly.

"I love you so much Natasha," Steve said, looking into my eyes lovingly.

"I love you more Steve," I replied smiling as I kissed him again. I couldn't be happier with the life that I had created with Steve and my two little miracles.

Is this love? Yes, I think it is.
