Nat's POV

It had been hours of constant tormenting and torture from Ivan and Sharon. I had been beaten, cut, and burned in every way possible and I wasn't sure how much more of this I could take. Ivan always had an effect on me. Made me feel weak and worthless. Like there was nothing I could do to stop this torture, except sit here and endure it. He walked back into the room with what looked like a knife.

"So Natalia, are you willing to come back to the Red Room and be my star assassin again, or are we going to keep this up?" Ivan threatened, bringing the knife into full view. This man was sick, but going back to being an assassin for the Red Room was something I would never do again, regardless of how much he tried to torture me into it.

Being an assassin was the thing I regretted most in my life. The thing that made me feel less human and more like a monster. There was absolutely nothing he could do to make me go back to being that cold-blooded killer again. Nothing.

"Well, then I guess you leave me no choice." He said before plunging the knife into my leg. I grunted in pain but knew better than to scream. I would not give Ivan the satisfaction of hearing me scream.

I could feel my conscience slipping away from me as he continued and I let my eyes start to close. I opened them, however, when I heard a loud sound and then the door came flying off its hinges. In marched the angel in blue, white, and red. About time they found me, I have trackers on me for a reason.

He threw his SHIELD at Ivan knocking him out as he ran over to me and undid the chains that had me bound to the chair. Once I was free, I promptly fell off the chair. I braced myself to hit the ground but nothing came and I realized that there was a pair of muscular arms wrapped around my torso, keeping me from face planting into the ground. Clearly, I had lost a lot of strength, even keeping myself upright was a struggle.

"Nat!" Steve called out worriedly as he caught me. He lifted me back up to an upright position on the chair. I felt really faint and weak, I was even shaking. I think I have lost a lot more blood than I first thought.

I waved him off, but he persisted, whilst helping me into a standing position. I winced as I had to put weight onto my legs. They were riddled with stab wounds and were throbbing. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ivan getting up shakily and stumbling towards us.

Steve had his back turned to Ivan and I could see that Ivan was pulling out the same knife that he had been using on me earlier to stab Steve with it. I used every last bit of strength I had and flung myself in the way of Steve, getting stabbed in the shoulder. The last thing I saw before I blacked out, was Steve hitting Ivan over the head again before rushing over to me.

I woke up later and looked around. I realized that I had been taken back to the Quinjet and Clint was currently stitching up one of my leg wounds. I sat up quickly and looked around, discovering that Clint and I were the only ones in the jet.

"Where is everyone else?" I asked hurriedly, glancing over at Clint.

"They are taking down Ivan and Sharon as we speak." He answered back calmly whilst fiddling with what looked like an IV that was attached to my arm. Steve and the others couldn't take down Ivan on their own, I was the only one that knew his strategies and I had to be there to help or they would fail.

I quickly pulled the IV out of my arm and stood up. I immediately regretted it as my head started pounding and I felt faint, but I had to continue. I couldn't stay here and let the others fight my battles. They would get hurt and I couldn't afford to lose anyone else, I have lost enough already.

Besides, I happen to have the world's biggest grudge against Ivan and it would truly put my soul to rest knowing that I had gotten payback for everything that he had done to me, and countless other girls during my time at the Red Room and beyond.

I grabbed a few spare pistols out of the jet and started running. Clint was shouting at me to stop and stay where it was safe, but I couldn't, I just couldn't.

I neared the building again and saw the destruction that the already raging battle had caused. Half of the building looked set to collapse and there were unconscious bodies of the guards strewn throughout the courtyard.

I ran up the steps, luckily the door to the mansion had already been blown off, so I couldn't quickly and quietly slip into the building unnoticed. Or so I thought.

"Natalia, you never stop do you?" Ivan called out coming out from one of the hallways. I sprung at him, throwing punches and kicks. He blocked every single one. Gosh, it is really hard to fight the person that taught you everything you know about fighting.

He started to fight back and I tried to block as many of his blows as possible, though due to my very injured body, my reflexes weren't often quick enough and he would manage to land one on me.

Right when he had managed to pin me to the ground, Steve came sprinting out of nowhere and threw him off. The fight resumed and we were all throwing blows at each other. I felt fainter by the second but I had to keep going, he has done way too much to me in the past to get away with it any longer. I needed my revenge.
