It was morning and Mitsuki led the kids to the training area.
Mitsuki: Welcome to Dragon Training!
Katsuki: No turning back.
Hanta: I hope I get some serious burns!
Mina: I'm hoping for some mauling, like on my shoulder or lower back.
Katsuki: Yeah, it's only fun if you get a scar out of it.
Izuku: [Sarcastically] Yeah, no kidding, right? Pain. Love it.
Hanta: Oh, great. Who let him in?
Mitsuki: Let's get started! The recruit who does best will win the honor of killing their first dragon in front of the entire village.
Denki: Izuku already killed a Night Fury, so, does that disqualify him or...?
Hanta: Can I transfer to the class with the cool Vikings?
Mitsuki: [to Izuku] Don't worry. You're small and you're weak. That'll make you less of a target! They'll see you as sick or insane and go after the more Viking-like teens instead.
Mitsuki (continuing.): Behind these doors are just a few of the many species you will learn to fight! The Deadly Nadder!
Tenya: Speed: eight; Armor: sixteen.
Mitsuki: The Hideous Zippleback!
Tenya: Plus eleven stealth times two.
Mitsuki: The Monstrous Nightmare!
Tenya: Firepower: fifteen.
Mitsuki: The Terrible Terror!
Tenya: Attack: eight; Venom: twelve!
Mitsuki: CAN YOU STOP THAT?! And... the Gronckle!
Tenya: [whispering] Jaw strength: eight.
Denki: Whoa, whoa, wait! Aren't you gonna teach us first?
Mitsuki: I believe in learning on the job. [releases Gronckle]
Mitsuki (cont.): Today is about survival. If you get blasted... you're dead! Quick! What's the first thing you're going to need?
Izuku: A doctor?
Tenya: Plus five speed?
Katsuki: A shield!
Mitsuki: Shields! Go! Your most important piece of equipment is your shield! If you must make a choice between a sword or a shield, take the shield!
They all go to the line of shields to pick one, but end up fighting on who gets what.
Hanta: Get your hands off my shield!
Mina: There's like a million shields!
Hanta: Take that one, it has a flower on it. Girls like flowers.
Mina takes the shield and slams it onto Hanta's head.
Mina: Oops, now this one has blood on it.
The Gronckle flies towards the Twins and blasts their shield with a fireball, leaving them dazed on the ground.
Mitsuki: Hanta, Mina, you're out!
Mina and Hanta: [Dazed] What?
Mitsuki: Those shields are good for something else : Noise. Make lots of it to throw off a dragon's aim.
