After seeing no abnormalities in the border I lean on th building in the shadows. I close my eyes and rest.

After who nows how much time has passed by I go inside. Walking through the compound I pick up Hope.

When she sees me her eyes light up and she runs by my side. 

Flinching I think 'What am I doing, I don't want her to be dependent on me. I'm not meant to be a mom, parent, or whatever this is.

Kids.........she needs stability, family,  and above all love. 

Things I can't give to her.

Breathing in I look down at Hope. "I have something to tell you"

Hope tilts her head and scrunches her eyebrows "Y-yes?"

"Very soon I have to go on a short trip"

She begins to stutter "W-what? W-why? Do y-you wa-want to l-leave me?"

In a neutral voice I say "Sweetie I'm going to help some people get away from the bad people. The bad people who don't like people like us."

She bits her lip and looks down.

I sigh before I bend down. I lift her head with my hand gently.

A single tear drips down her eye.

I wipe it with my finger. "Look it's only gonna be for two maybe three days. I'll be back before you know it. Don't you want me to help people so the bad people who had us don't get more people."

She nods her head.

I look at he seriously and firmly say "Ok then. While I'm gone you go to Lorna or Clarice if you need anything okay?"

With water eyes she says "W-why.... I wa-wanna go w-with y-you."

I sigh and say "You can't go with me because it's very dangerous right now. The bad people, Sentineal, they are mad we have been helping so many people. Next time you'll come with me but for now you gotta show me you can be strong by yourself. Can you do that for me?"

She nods her head.

"Words babygirl. Let me hear your voice."

"Y-yes" she stutters while crying. 

I pick her up on my hip and she snuggles into me.

She mumbles into my neck "What if the bad people get you?"

I begin walking to the kitchen. "Don't worry about that."

She quiet for the next hour or two.

I get Hope ready for sleep and leave her in my room to do some homework then draw.

I walk towards the mailroom and see he's not there. I look in the common area, a few rooms, and even the areas still abandoned.

Usually Mr.Bossy is always around.

I see Marco, Lorna, and Sonya talking. I walk up to them and Sonya notices me first. I ignore her and up tp Marco. 

Lorna and Marco notice my presence and both say "Hey."
