   "Think about it, I'm watching."

Those were the only words that echoed in my head right now. On the white rose the petals starting from the inside and stretching to the outside are the words,

"I love you."

"No no no no no no!" I fell onto my bed crying.

"This can't be happening! It just can't be!"

I feel someone's hand on my shoulder and a noise that sounded like my name. I looked up to see Daemian sitting on my bed. I sat up and read his expression.

"What's wrong?" I could literally hear his voice in my head saying it.

"This." I said tossing him the rose.

He looked at it and frowned. Then looked at me.

"Yes i still love you if that's what your wondering.'

He smiles, but it also means something else.

"He wants details." I thought.

I sighed.

"I went to....talk to him about setting you free, and it morphed into a whole lot more. He says he'll protect me in the arena ..........if i......."

I can't finish this sentence, not with him here.

"What?" He writes on the piece of paper from earlier.

"He.....wants me to marry him when I win."

He raises his eyebrows.

"Not like I would! But.....his offer of keeping me alive, maybe I can persuade him to set you free.'

He quickly shakes his head no.

"Why do you not want me to help?! Don't you want to leave?!" He nods then quickly writes,

"But the punishments...."

Then I hear a sound.

"Someones coming!" Daemian runs to the door, nods goodbye, then leaves. The visitor is my mother.

"I hear President Snow really likes you!" She beams.

"So?'

"So, your nineteen, he's turning twenty-one, only two years older. You both actually have a lot in common."

"Are you seriously comparing me to him?!" I thought.

"And your point?!" I say sharply.

She frowns. "What has gotten into you lately?!'

"He told you then.....about his offer?"

"Yes, and he told me you were 'undecided'."

"So you've come to change my mind?"

She stared at me. ".........I just thought it would be good for you."

"So you're going to force me?" she narrowed her eyes.

"It's a good deal, and he can provide you with a future. Your also single. I'm not saying you should, but it's a good idea. In the end I can't force you to do anything though."

But her look read, "I so can force you.'

I turned away.

"I don't love him, I love Daemian.' I mumbled and turned away.

"Oh! Is this a rose?" she said.

Daemian must've left it on the night stand.

'It's beautiful!'

'Can you go please?"

"It's so perfect and even and-"

"I said  leave!!"

I looked to see her shocked expression. Miraculously, she left.

"I cannot love him! And I won't!"

"Or can you and your just refusing to admit it?" My thoughts said.

I heard the door open.

"Just go away!!" I yelled.

Someone puts their hand shakily on my shoulder. I looked up to see Daemian.

"Daemian! What happened?! you hurt!"

He was bruised and had a few small cuts. The words he had written on the paper echoed in my head,

"The punishments...."

"No! No! No!" I say.

"Why is all this happening?!"

He shrugged his shoulders. It  was already late, he turned to leave. I grabbed his hand.

"No, your not leaving. I won't let him hurt you again."

I handed him the paper and pen from earlier.

"Where will you sleep?"

'In my bed, it's far too big for me so, i'll have half an you have the other."

He shook his head no.

"I will not let him harm you.....never again."
