SIM - "Sana? Bacha jldi se edhar aa. Yeh try krle, tere size k hai ya nhi. Nhi toh baad mein resize krvane mein time lgega."
I rush over to her, still halfway through having finalized my dresses. I continue talking on the phone letting her confirm the sizes for the jewelry she was adamant on handing down to me. Sidharth sat a few feet away looking at the new pieces I was supposed to select from the next minute. Ending the call I moved to sit between both Preeti and Neetu di letting Raunak jump into my lap whilst I looked through the designs laid out before me.
P - "Sid? Ring select ki ya nhi? Try bhi krvani hai na? Size and all ya fir yeh wali same-"
"No no, select krli. Aur size pta hai already mujhe. Promise kiya hai isse kuch... toh abhi k liye surprise hi rehne do." Sidharth uttered passing me a quick wink. I looked away biting back the blush as I looked through the rest of the jewelry showing him each piece for confirmation. I set the chosen ones aside starting to get up only to be sat back down hearing Sidharth. "Yeh bhi le le na ek? Sab ne li hai, baad mein bhi banvaani hi paregi" he suggested holding up one of the gold waistbands. I heard both his sisters tease him to no end while I was too dazed to even pay much attention. My eyes widened seeing him walk over undoing the latch as he kneeled right in front of me.
Si -"Try krle, if you like it fir theek nhi toh dusri dekh lenge same size mein."
N - "Vaise maan na parega, tune poora exact size pick kiya han? Dekh lo di, humari baari mein ched ta rehta tha aur ab khud hi-"
"Toh? Biwi hai meri kuch bhi kru" he reverted securing the chain around my waist. I tell him off, passing him a glare to stop the sudden displays of love and affection he decided to start right in front of his sisters.
SIM - "Biwi bnni nhi hai abhi, aur Sana woh Baaz ka call aaya tha abhi, keh raha tha ki 15 minute tak aa jayega toh tab tak yeh sab final krle. Fir seedha venue mein hi milenge. Aur Sidharth abhi se bol rahi hu, haldi lgne k baad tum mehndi k ilawa kahi mile toh bohut maar paregi tujhe"
"Mujhe kyun? Yeh bhi toh aadhi hissedaar hai na milne mein?" He responded winking back at me as in to confirm the chain I now held undid. "Woh initiate nhi kregi, pta hai mujhe." Maa responded taking a look over all the selected pieces. I chuckle sticking my tongue out at Sidharth, who stood with a completely knowing look displayed across his face.
Si - "Woh bhi bohut kuch initiate krti hai maa, aap toh aise hi mere piche pde ho"
"Tu abhi mere se maar khayega, kutta.. krta sab khud hai aur bill mere pe phadega humesha" I mumble in a slight whisper passing by him to collect the stuff I was taking back home. I'd let all the necessary outfits be dropped off at his house altogether, hence my sudden visit. We hadn't exactly met in almost 2 days. Something that didn't sit too well with Sidharth. The dark circles explained a lot about the constant calls at night. He walks over grabbing my hand in his, shamelessly pulling me into his room knowing well enough their were at least 3 pairs of eyes staring right at us. "Tu pagal hai?! Aise kyun kheencg k laya, maa aur di kya soch rahe honge? Akal aur sharam hai tujhe mein ya-"
Si - "Chup. Tujhe maine nhi idea diya tha ki functions se pehle bhi milne na aaye. Guests hai toh kya? Main bhi hu na? Mera time slot aise gayab kaise krdiya tune? Raat ko bhi kasam de di ki nhi aaunga, how is that even fair? Di se bhi mili hai tu 2 baar lekin mujhe nhi"
S - "Acha nhi lgta na Sidharth? 3 mahine se tere saath hi hu, aise karungi to-"
"Toh kya? Pati hu, extra marital boyfriend nhi jo itna soch rahi hai, aaj raat ko ya toh tu aayegi nhi toh main aa raha hu, kasam hai tujhe mnna nhi kregi" he mumbled caging me against the now closed door. I let my hands grab his forearms letting out a soft giggle at the look in his eyes. "Acha theek hai, tu aajana okay? Back door khula chod dungi. Baaz ko bhi boldungi, vaise bhi koi aata nhi hai udhar" I mumble placing a quick peck against each of his cheeks.
Si - "Toh do din se kyun mnna kr rahi thi?"
"Acha nhi lgta na? Sab bolenge ki 2-3 din bhi wait nhi ho rahi hai inse" I answer honestly voicing the exact thought in my head. That was an awkward situation I wanted to avoid. I hated the whole not sleeping in his arms but I couldn't exactly voice that to family. Especially not mine knowing I'd be teased for the rest of my life. "Haan nhi ho rahi hai wait. 5 saal se shaadj shaadi kr rahe hai sab toh yeh sab bhi toh expect kiya hi hoga na unhone? "
I look at him, completely bewildered at what he'd said smacking his arm slightly at the realization of him having meant the entire sleeping together situation. It was quite hard to believe this was the same person whod once said he'd do anything but a liv in considering that his mom wouldnt approve of it. The past 3 months had been completely the opposite. Maa really honestly didn't mind even whilst having found out about him sneaking over to mines at night. The messenger obviously my own mother. "Abhi main jaun? Baaz aa jayega. Tune already bohut juloos nikal diya hai bahar" I mumble trying to get out of being held against the door. He shook his head dropping his hands to my waist pulling me against himself in a quick movement. I hissed putting my palms against his chest to hold back. "Pehle kiss fir dismiss, baaki tu decide krle kab jaana hai" he say holding me tight enough to not even leave a chance for escape. I give in distracting him with a quick peck before running off to where everyone else sat. Wedding functions definitely took much more time than we'd expected. Especially when the idea is to make everything absolutely perfect.
