TO NANNY WITH LOVE

SETTLING IN

As soon as she moved out of his office she met his secretary. The lady was beautiful. She was tall , much taller than her five feet three inches and had a models appearance and was dressed impeccably much better than Shreya,s appearance.

The secretary noted down her address and informed her that tomorrow morning a driver would pick her to take her to the bosses mansion .She also handed Shreya an envelope which contained one month's salary in advance

Shreya didn't have much to pack .She had left the orphanage at eighteen and then completed her college and secretarial course by doing odd jobs , taking tuitions and working as waitresses in numerous food joints .

At present she had been searching for a job for the past six months and her rent was also due . First thing she did was settle her rent and then pay her roommate the electricity bill they shared .

Then she shopped for some clothes . She didn't know what to expect so she just bought two pair of jeans and four new tops which she could mix and match .

The driver was on time and she reached Sameer's mansion in an hour .It was on the outskirts of Delhi and covered several acres It was isolated and nearby market was around half an hour .

The estate consisted of a main house and many small cottages probably meant for the staff .

The house itself was huge two storey ed structure made up of red bricks on the outside and surrounded by lush green gardens.

She met an old lady Maria who welcomed her inside the mansion .

If Shreya had been intimidated by the outside the inside was even more luxurious . There was a huge foyer which lead to the living area , dining area , bar and billiards room and guest rooms . At the backside was a swimming pool .

A huge staircase from the foyer lead to the bedrooms on the upper floor .

Maria offered her tea and snacks and then introduced her to two toddlers Ritika and Rehaan . They were lovely children but still Shreya couldn't understand why she was-being introduced to the kids .

Initially she decided to ask Maria but then she decided to keep quiet because she needed this job desperately.

Maria then took her to a nearby cottage where she was to stay . It was a small cottage which had a bedroom and a living room with a small kitchen and bathroom . There was also a small piece of garden in the front . It was semi furnished but Maria assured her that they had lots of old furniture stocked in the storeroom which she could choose and keep .

Shreya was delighted with the cottage because it was literally her first home and much better than the dreary bedsit in which she had been staying.

Maria asked her to settle in and invited her to take dinner in the house for the time being .

Shreya dusted the bed , covered it with a fresh bedsheet and cleaned the wardrobe where she kept her limited clothes .

Then she cleaned the kitchen properly .Tomorrow she would go for grocery shopping .

There was a small couch in the living area which also she cleaned .

She then freshened up in the bathroom and went to meet Maria .

She took dinner with Maria in the kitchen and was just going back to her cottage when Sameer arrived .

"Shreya it is ?"he asked .

" Yes sir "Shreya replied .

"All settled ? Did you meet the kids ?"

" Yes sir . The kids are lovely . When do I start work tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow morning at 8 AM in the mansion . Initially Maria will help you but then you will be on your own "

"Ok sir "she replied at left .

Again she couldn't understand why was she to report at the mansion . Maybe she would leave with him to the office .
