Chapter 58

"By the way, do you guys already have a costume?" Renjun changed the topic, immediately earning the others attention. Donghyuck however only frowned in confusion, the Chinese boy having to enlighten him once more.
"Felix' Halloween party, you gold fish."

"Oh, I completely forgot about that."

Not a second later, Jisung cleared his throat and proudly sat up in his own seat, before his hand reached for his heart while he patted his best friend on the back.
The two younger ones surely looked enthusiastic, probably more energetic about dressing themselves than anyone else.

"Chenle and I planned on disguising ourselves as boomers while insulting today's youth at the party. I even bought a walking stick so that I can beat any of you up, if you decide to drink too much or take some kind of drugs."

A gentle laugh automatically left Jeno's lips, revealing his rare but mesmerizing eye-smile. Even Soyeon was amazed at the sight of the beautiful, prince-like smile, almost making her smile herself.

Renjun on the other hand only shook his head as he tried to imagine the two best friends walking around at the party and poking random strangers with their sticks.

"Why am I not surprised in the slightest? How about you, Jaemin?"

"Mark and I are going to show up as Detective Conan and Kaito Kid, aka the best duo to ever exist."

"Not bad, how about the rest?"

His gaze wandered to the members, only to see them shake their heads in unison .

"We don't have anything yet, but we will," Jeno answered his question, now turning to the girls who had been silently listening to their little chat.
"You're coming too, aren't you? Any exciting ideas yet?"

You could see the corners of Momo's mouth automatically lifitng before she started smiling widely while crossing her arm with the one of her friend.

"Mina and I are going to go as the twins from 'The Shining'," the ravenette enthusiastically grinned, showing her growing excitement for halloween.

Such parties have always been one of Momo's favorite events and the girl was already blown away by the many ideas she had come up with.
Mina didn't really have a choice about her own outfit, but she didn't mind that her friend was taking care of it. After all, seeing the pretty student happy was already enough for leaving their costumes to her.

"Soyeon said she is going to grab a random mask and then show up with a bloody axe or something," she pointed to her friend, who continued to eat in silence and only used her fingers to form a peace sign.

"I see..." Donghyuck spoke softly, speaking more to himself than to the others.

Brooding, he let his gaze wander to his tray before playing with a piece of meat on his plate. Even if he didn't want to, the once so intimidating and ice-cold student had loosened up a lot since his first encounter with Sunghee, making it easy for everyone at the table to read his expression like an open book.

No sooner did the brunette realize the lingering silence than he looked up from his plate again, noticing how all eyes were attentively focused on him.
A little overwhelmed, Donghyuck let his eyes jump from one person to the other and automatically touched his face, thinking he might find some leftovers.

"Why are you looking at me like that," the boy finally asked and frowned confusedly while he narrowed his eyes at his classmates.

"Don't you want to know if Sunghee is coming?"

It was Donghyuck's best friend who answered, staring at the younger one with amused eyes and a knowing look.

Somehow offended end exposed at the same time, a faint tint of pink appeared on the brunette's cheeks, who crossed his arms in front of his chest before leaning back in his chair, trying to look as unbothered as possible.
As expected, it was quite obvious that his friends had caught him, well aware that he was definitely whipped for the odd girl.

"In that case I would've asked, wouldn't I?"

Not a second later, Momo started laughing and threw her long black hair back before continuing to make fun of him.
"You don't need to ask questions when it's so obviously written all over your face face."

"Ts... whatever."

Silently letting his eyes wander around the cafeteria, Donghyuck was still hoping to appear uninterested and bored, but his own body gave his real state away, exposing him just like his friends did.
His own leg was bobbing restlessly before he finally gave in and let his curiosity take over.

"Anyways... is she going?"

It didn't take a second for everyone so start smiling, this time not making fun of the boy's question though. Instead, each of his members was secretly happy to see this unusual and almost content side of him, realizing that he was finally getting to know and like someone after all that gang shit that had happened to him in the past.

Even if they didn't tell him, they genuinely wished him all the best and were glad about his encounter with Sunghee.

"Probably not," Mina replied shortly afterwards, whereupon the brunette started to click is tongue, already having expected the answer. "At least she didn't mention anything like that."

Although Donghyuck was sure that Sunghee was slowly opening up to him, he still had to make some effort to get closer to the strange but adorable student.
Of course he wished it would go faster, but the journey was the goal. From now on, if he wanted to conquer her heart for himself, he would do it the right way.

Determined and full of new energy, the brunette shot up from his seat and hastily took the tray in his hands.

"Where are you going?" Mark yelled after him as he watched his best friend energetically clean up the rest of his food.

"To our lovely Captain, the boxing club is about to start."

So... there are so many things going on rn and I don't even have time to check them out💀💀 why is NCT posting so many videos??? I also have to watch their shows and I didn't even watch nct dreams nct life
I'm so behind

Anyways, I'm so excited for NCT 2020🤧✊🏼 the two new members look so cute 💚 I cant wait to get to know them better

Also, StrayKids are doing so well rn🥺 I'm glad they are getting the attention they deserve
