Iris pov*
The week went smoothly with any huge problems. He just gave me the cold or silent treatment and I am glad with it. I do my work the better I can like this he doesn't have anything to say and for now it's working.
We are Friday morning and in 8 hours exactly I will be in weekend. I am so tired that I will stay sleeping for the two days. With all the stress I had with Adam I felt like just empty with no energy left.
I decided to make a strong coffee before continued my work.
Sipping and letting the liquid warm me I leaned back on my chair. But the office phone rang and took me away from my relaxation
"Yes Sir"
"In my office" He hung up before I can answer like he always did
When I entered he was not alone a guy maybe in the same age as Adam was sitting in front him in his elegant black suit I didn't see him enter Adam's office maybe he came when I was in the coffee room.
"Yes Sir" I said standing near the desk and nodded towards the man
"What do you want to drink Evan" He asked his guest
"A cappuccino will be fine" The man replied looking at me and smiled
"Bring us a cappuccino and a black coffee" Adam said without giving me a glance
"Yes Sir" I made my way to the door feeling Evan's gaze on me
I prepared their drinks and added two slice of chocolate cake.
I laid the tray on the little table which was in front of the couch they were sitting now.
"Thanks beautiful" Evan said with a grin
"You are welcome Sir"
I replied softly and was about to walk out
"Call me Evan cupcake" He said again. I was so embarrassed I take a look towards Adam and he was glaring at me like it was my fault
"And you what's your name"
"I –Iris Sir" I replied even if I didn't want to but it will be rude if I don't
"Iris a beautiful name for a beautiful woman"
Beautiful my ass he was mocking me straight in my face my mind said
I blurted a small thank you and rushed from there earning a small laugh from Evan.
Before I can close the office's door I heard Adam say
"Don't be nice to her; she is so desperate that she will throw herself to you"
"She doesn't seem like that kind of girl Adam" Evan replied
"Appearances are deceptive buddy"
"I don't think so but if she did it won't displease me" Evan replied
"I didn't know you are in a fat girl" Adam said like disgusted
"She is not fat but curvy and beautiful Adam plus I am not flirting with her I am just nice"
"If you say so, when she will be glued at you won't tell I didn't warn you"
I can take it anymore so I run to my office hide in the corner and slipped along the wall. I cried my heart out putting my hand on my mouth to make less noise. I don't anyone to hear me or see me in this state. I stayed like this for maybe a quarter when I decided to go the restroom and wash my face.
'Crying won't change anything Iris so stop being so weak'
After this little break down I walked to my office when I came across Evan
I tried to avoid him but he had another idea
"Iris"
I sighed and answered
"Yes Sir"
He looked at me for a minute and put his finger under my chin to make me lift my face
"Are you ok Iris? Were you crying" He asked with worry
I let out a nervous laugh made a step back causing his hand to fall and replied
"N-no no at all"
"Why your eyes are red then?"
"It was just a dust" I said waving my arms like it's nothing important
"Huumm if you say so... anyway it was a pleasure to meet you today"
"Likewise" I replied
"If you will excuse me Sir"
"Evan... call me Evan, see you soon cupcake" He winked and made his way to the elevator.
I continued my work for the day praying my boss won't call me and my prayers were heard.
A part of the small break for lunch I didn't move from my office.
At 6pm I arrange my desk and went to Adam to inform him that I am leaving
I knocked waiting for his authorization to enter.
He was still working; his tie loosened, the first buttons of his shirt were undone, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his hair a complete mess. Despite everything he was so handsome.
Oh please Iris stop it after all the shit he said about you still find him handsome my mind mocked me
Well he is a handsome devil.
"Do you finish checking me out?" Adam said without lifting his head
Here I am embarrassed again
"Huuumm I just wanted to tell you that I am leaving"
"Before take this files I want them done for Monday morning"
I look at a stack of folders
"All of this?" I asked
"Yes is there a problem with that do you have something better to do?" He said with a cold glare
"N-nno"
"That's what I thought"
I took the files and made my way to the door
"Have a nice weekend"
He didn't answer like always I still don't know why I greet him.
With heavy heart I went to my house, instead of resting I have to work all the weekend.
I definitely love my life!!!
