"This'll be your room sweetie , you will share it with two other girls here , the bathroom is connected,the boys room are next door and the kitchen and my room is downstairs " My new foster mom says as she showed me each room trying to get me familiarize with the place.
"If you need anything just call for me ok ?" She continued as she turned to walk downstairs
I walked in the room to see a girl with blond hair making a necklace with beads with the smaller curly haired one next to her
As I walked further they heard me and looked up the smaller one jumped up and ran to hug me
"Hey ! My name is Ava . What's your name? "
"Hi my name is Alexandra nice to meet you " I replied awkwardly patting her back as the big one walked towards me and pulled her off of me
"Pretty name ,Mines Nova, nice to meet you" the big one said
"You too" I smiled looking around
"You can take the top or the bottom bed over there " she pointed to a bunk bed in the corner
"Ok , I'll take the bottom one "
The bed was big and I don't wanna risk falling off of it coming down I walked over there and set my things down not bothering to take them out just in case this doesn't work out
It's dinner time !!!" Shouted miss Simmons as I was about to sit down
The girls pushed passed me and just ran downstairs so I took that as my que to just follow them
By the time I was downstairs I was the last one sitting at the table, there were the girls ,an older boy and a younger one who looked two years older than me .Taking out my seat the boys kept staring at me especially the little one.
I lowered my head as he continued looking at me until miss Simmons started sharing the food around the table
"Thank you" I muttered as she put my food in front of me
They all started having small conversations while eating except me and then it who was just eating in silence .
After we ate miss Simmons and nova stayed downstairs to wash the dishes, I offered to help but they said I should just go shower and get ready for bed
As I was going up stairs I saw the boy standing at the door blocking it I tried to move around him but he wouldn't move .
"Can you please move?" I said in a small voice keeping my head
He moved to the side to let me pass but as I was walking pass him he grabbed my hand and I finally looked up at him
"I'm sorry ,I just wanted to talk to you" he said shyly
"It's fine "
"My name's Zyaire ,what's yours " he said while smiling

"Zy! Zy! I'm not playing bring him back ! " I yelled while banging on his door
It's been four years since I've been here ,Nova and the older boy who's name I later got to know was Julian was now in collage leaving only Ava ,Zyaire and I . I got to learn a lot about them like fact that Julian was was half Hawaiian ,Nova lived in Spain for a couple years until she had to come her because of family problems ,Ava was born in Texas went to live with her grandma here in New York but ended up in the system instead and Zyaire was actually born and raised here just like me
The door opening brought me back from my thoughts as I looked up to see him smiling showing me his pearly white teeth
"I'm not playing with you zy I told you to stop doing that " I said as I went to hit him but instead he picked me up and sun me around
