Sierra took a moment, not being able to get up from the ground she tried to wipe the tears from her face. She suddenly felt a slight pressure on her shoulder, looking up she was met with a pair of blue eyes.

"You might want to get up from there, unless you want to be crushed from whoever goes through there next" He said with the usual cheerful smile, his expression changed into a more serious one when he noticed the tears running down her cheeks. Cedric pulled Sierra up gently, picking up the suitcase for her, he gave her a sympathetic smile. "You know, I felt like crying too, my first year."

Sierra's eyes drifted down, missing mommy and daddy?  God that sounded so pathetic, the tears rolling down her face were so stupid. It made her feel so weak, she didn't have parents and she needed to get used to the fact that she'd never have them. Her mother was dead, and her father didn't have love in his heart to give to her. Wiping off the tears from her face she looked back at Cedric "Thanks" she mumbled. She wasn't going to tell him, she didn't need his pity.

"Here let me show you to where the first years usually sit, I mean you could sit with me and my friends but I'm guessing you wouldn't want to" Cedric said as he began walking towards the train, giving her suitcase to an elf that stored it away. Sierra followed behind

"No offense, but I'd like to sit by myself" Sierra said declining his offer, she still needed to think. She didn't have a home anymore so she needed to figure out what to do, besides the fact that she wasn't one for socializing.

Cedric nodded guiding her inside the train until they got to an empty booth. He opened the door for her allowing her to step inside. "Well, here you go" he said giving her a smile. "For what it's worth, I hope you get sorted into Hufflepuff then we could be in the same house." Sierra gave him a curious look.

"What do you mean sorted?" She asked as she took a seat down on the train.

"Oh right.." Cedric said taking a seat next to her. "Well you see Hogwarts has four houses, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. First years have a ceremony where a hat looks into who they are or who they will become and chooses a house for them based on it. For example Hufflepuffs are kind, hard working, and honest. Gryffindors are known for their bravery, Ravenclaws for being smart, and Slytherin are known to be ambitious." He explained trying to make sure he was making sense. "Although whatever house you get, I'll be your friend. You can come to me  with any questions and I'll show you around" He said as he put his hand on her shoulder before standing up "'l'll see you around Barrows." He said with a slight smirk before leaving the booth.

Sierra waved at him as he walked away, she couldn't help to be curious as to what house she would be put in. She honestly didn't care, they all seemed to have good qualities. Of course Cedric talked more about Hufflepuff but that made sense since he was one. Sierra turned her gaze towards the window as the train began to move. She had never been on a train before, she had seen them on the paper as well but never in person.

Watching the scenery go by she couldn't help but to think of the McGraths, it made her want to cry again but she had to snap out of it. "Come on Sierra" she said pulling on her hair out of frustration. She had to get it together, this was different than an orphanage it was a school, sink or swim type of situation. She thought back as to what Mr. Malfoy had said to her the day before, she had to figure out what her mom did at Hogwarts. She only had herself to represent so she had to try and be the best at every subject no matter how challenging it got, she was still unsure as to how the Magical world worked but she knew her attendance at Hogwarts was a golden ticket to never have to depend on anyone again. She didn't want to be part of a family anymore she didn't ever want to feel like that ever again.

"Has anyone seen a Toad?" A loud voice said, Sierra turned her head seeing a girl talk to two boys in the booth across of her.

"A boy Neville's lost one." The girl had light brown wavy hair and brown eyes. She turned her head to Sierra raising and eyebrow "Have you seen it?" She asked and Sierra simply shook her head. The girl turned her gaze back to the two boys in the booth.

"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see it then." the girl leaned in the doorway so Sierra wasn't able to see much of what was going on. She heard some sort of mumble and a yellow flash come from the booth.

"Are you sure that's a real spell?... Well it's not a very good one now is it" The girl said making her way into the booth sitting in front of a boy with black hair. "Of course I've only done simple ones my self. But they've all worked for me" she said taking out her wand "for example.." She pointed her wand at the boys face before flicking it.

"Oculus reparo" she said and something happened, Sierra couldn't see very well but both of the boys in the cabin looked pretty amazed. Cedric had said everyone in this cart were first years. How did she know magic already? Standing out in Hogwarts was going to be a bit of a challenge. All of these kids had seemed to grow up in the Magic world, how was she going to catch up on so many years of knowledge?

She was snapped out of her thoughts by an outburst "Holy Cricket! you're Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger." She introduced herself then turned to look at the ginger boy. "And you are?"

"Uhm... Ron Weasley" The boy replied with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

Hermione got up telling them to change into their robes just as she was about to walk off Sierra stood up. "Excuse me, I couldn't help but to overhear, but how did you learn all those spells?" Sierra asked curiously.

"Oh, its all in the textbooks silly, are you muggleborn?" Hermione asked giving Sierra a smile.

"No, I'm just... new to this world... its complicated" Sierra explained receiving a curious look from Hermione.

"Oh I see, well everything should be in the textbooks. I didn't catch your name?" She asked.

"Sierra Barrows" Sierra replied gently shaking the girls hand.

"I'm Hermione Granger. Well, I'll see you around Sierra" She said before walking back to another booth.

Sierra looked through the carry on satchel she had with her that held all of her books. Looking through the titles she had; Astronomy, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, and Transfiguration. Getting familiarized with the history of magic would probably be the best move. She opened up the textbook and began to read.

The train came to a stop and students started to stand up from their seats. Sierra packed up her books and opened up the door to her booth coming face to face with the black haired boy she had seen before. Harry was his first named if she recalled correctly, he let her go out first and she followed the rest of the students out of the train. They were at a station near a lake with a bunch of boats at the shore. Older looking students began to instruct the first years into boats, Sierra was put in a boat with an older looking student wearing a red tie and a girl with blonde hair. Next to board the boat was a boy with platinum blonde hair and gray eyes, she recognized him, he was the boy she had seen at Ollivander's with Mr. Malfoy. She decided not to say anything and just looked away although she could feel his eyes on her.

When the boats came to a stop Sierra got out gathering with the rest of the students, she looked up at the castle, was this Hogwarts? She stared in awe taking in the massive building. She felt uneasy but at the same time she felt like she belonged there.
