34| Left Out in the Dark

"K-Keiden. " I managed to croak out through my sobbing self.

"What's wrong tell me Em." he said restlessly as I tried to calm through my sobbing self.

"Calm down bub, listen to me okay. Inhale... Exhale." he said as I followed him repeatedly until I calmed down but tears still slowly drolling down to my cheeks.

"What's wrong bub?" I heard him asked after a minute.

"I-I'm scared Kei." I sobbed out but he didn't respond so I could continue my statements.

"My p-past is triggering again, plus the accident are haunting me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys. " I said as I wiped my tears using my onesie sleeves.

"W-what? You mean... Where are your brothers bub?" he stuttered out then composing himself by asking.

"I guess they're not home, they're at the hospital. I hope your here to stay with me. " I said in my most quite voice.

"Oh Emee, I also wish to be with you right now but whenever you have a nightmare again, just call us without hesitation alright." he said as I hummed in response.

"Before you sleep, you have to think of any happy thought that can make you relax alright. You have to drink milk or water before bed. Don't stress yourself too much please. " he said as he kept reminding me of the steps I did almost two years ago. The steps and do's to get rid of my nightmares. I would normally have my parents or brothers at my side whenever I got my nightmares but I guess they're not here anymore. I still have them though but so far and I also have my brothers to help me right? Right.

"Emee you need to sleep okay, you need it so you can grow taller if you don't want to stay like a dwarf." he teased as he wanted to cheer me up.

"I'm not that short, I'm quite tall for my age if you don't know plus you guys are just abnormal giants. " I said as my demeanor somehow lifted at his antics. I'm more calm now than before as you can only hear my sniffles and a bit of hiccups.

"Yeah, yeah still a shortie. Always be a shortie. Now I want you to lay down on your bed. " he ordered as I did his instruction.

"You're gonna sing for me? Nope, never mind. " I said teasingly as I heard him snort on my phone.

"Shut up brat, now close your eyes. Put your phone first in a speaker mode and put it in your side table." he instructed me as I obediently do his order.

I position myself comfortably on my bed after I putted my phone on my side table. I signalled 'okay' to him as it come out muffled and close my eyes.

"I'm not gonna sing, don't expect me to sing you brat... Now I want you to listen to me only and relax. " he said softly as I hummed in my bed.

"I remember when your seven and you wanted to play hide-and-seek with us. We're too tired that day but you still wanted to play with us so you cried when we decline you. You snitched us with mom so we have no choice but to play with you. Enzo and you hid different places somewhere else while I'm the one who supposed to find you guys. Enzo and I planned to ditch you so we left the game without you knowing and still hiding somewhere else. After for about two hours, our parents asked us 'where is your sister? ' and that was the time we finally remembered that you're still probably hiding. We looked for you everywhere until dad found you under Daisy's dog house, sleeping peacefully as we all sighed in relief. I don't know how did you sleep peacefully there but I know your cold that time. Mom and dad punished us that time for ditching you, so we promised ourselves to protect you at all cost because we all know your stupid like all of the time." he said softly to me I'm starting to doze off to my dreamland land.
