Chapter 7 - Black & White

Start from the beginning

"I said Saturday next week, Veneracion," she taps her right temple while shaking her head. "And just because it's Saturday, you're free to come to my house anytime you like. I don't remember telling you to come here the last time I checked."

I slumped my shoulders and sighed, "Pasensya na sa nangyari kanina ma'am. I'll come back here next week nalang po?"

"You should hit your head with the door more often.."

"Po?"

"Gumalang ka," she gave me a blank expression na hindi maipinta.

I look around one more time para tingnan mga kasama niya sa bahay.

"Where's White, ma'am?" I asked referring to the goddess who welcomed me with these bruises earlier.

Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay as if I said an illegal word.

"Room," maikling sagot niya with a questioning gaze.

"Gusto ko lang mag-thank you for the bruises," mapakla kong sabi.

"I was the one who treated your bruises."

"Do you want me to erase your foul mouth permanently? Or just die for good?" She glared at me dangerously. Napaatras ako nang walang malay dahil kasabay ng pagharap niya at masamang tingin niya.

"You two have a striking resemblance," these words automatically came out of my mouth to brush off the intensity of her glares. "That also mean, you're exactly her opposite."

And why do I keep thinking of that woman? It's because I have something in mind that I don't wanna admit and just want to leave it there.

"Miss Veneracion."

Malapit na 'ko sa gate nila when she called my surname.

I shook my head nang iabot niya sa 'kin 'yun.

"That's honestly for our make-up sessions," I explained. "Pero para sa 'yo rin talaga."

"Stick-o and pineapple juice?" Mataray niyang sambit.

"We lost the game last time kasi ayaw mong maki-cooperate, Professor Cordova," maloko akong ngumiti habang inaalala ang mga pangyayari sa gabing 'yon. "Make it this time, ma'am. Please accept it."

Walang nagbago sa expression niya, 'yung mga tingin niya kasi nag-aakusa, it's like I'm making fun of her.

"You don't like it-"

"No," she threw the paper bag on me saka ito maarteng tumalikod.

Napailing ako at huminga ng malalim.

"Give it to your beautiful sister na lang ma'am, kung ayaw mo tanggapin," I suggested with a faint smile, sayang eh.

"And why would you give things to someone who caused you those bruises?"
