"hyein?"
hyein's eyes that were focused on the little girl in front of her immediately looks up when she heard a familiar voice calling her name
and she was surprised to see who it was,
"guanlin?"
the said male gave her one of his gummy smiles as he waves at her but that smile was quickly erased when he saw the tears in her eyes. guanlin frowned as he took a step forward towards the girl
hyein noticed the look on his face and how his eyes were focused on a certain feature in her face so she quickly looks aside to avoid his gaze. the frown in guanlin's face grew wider
"hey.. you okay? did something happen?" hyein felt a bit comforted by his gentle tone but she didn't want to annoy him in any way so she shook her head before blinking repeatedly to dry her tears
the little girl tilted her head to the side as she felt curious on what's happening so she walked towards hyein and poked her leg twice while looking up,
"auntie, are you 5? why are you cry-" "mei lin, stop being rude" the said girl huffed in annoyance when the male scolded her, she crossed her short arms as she turns away from them
guanlin sighs at the younger girl before averting his gaze back at hyein who was now looking at the ground.
"hyein? did something happen? are you hurt? who was it? i'll-" "i'm fine guanlin"
guanlin stopped talking and felt a bit irritated on how untruthful she's being, hyein knew he didn't buy her words so she looks up and gave him an assuring smile
"i'm fine and thanks for asking"
that simple smile easily warmed guanlin's heart, he felt a bit flabbergasted which made him clear his throat awkwardly before nodding at the girl
then he suddenly recalled something, guanlin turns towards the little girl and asked her, "mei lin, do you know her? and why did you call her auntie?"
the little girl in questioning stayed silent as she has her back towards them. guanlin sighs as hyein had a concerned look while staring at the little girl
"is.. she okay?"
"she's probably upset"
"why?"
"because i picked you over her"
hyein's eyes rounded at his reason but guanlin didn't see it since he was busy bugging mei lin so she would reply him
