Bondi Rescue - One shots

Glick

It was nearly 2am when you were woken for the fourth time by your month old daughter, Emma. She had been trouble sleeping in the hot Australian summer and was almost constantly crying because she was uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, there was nothing you could do because your apartment didn't have air conditioning and the power had gone out so your fans weren't in operation.

You sighed and rolled over, hoping she would settle down so you didn't have to get up and rock her again.

It had been 5 minutes since she had started crying and it was clearly ceaseless. You groaned and got up, trying not to wake Glick, who was sleeping peacefully beside you.

"Hi baby. Is the heat too much?" You cooed, picking her up and rocking her in your arms, her crying quietened to a whimper and she soon drifted off to sleep, you then placed her back in her cot.

You slid back into your own bed and rubbed your eyes out of tiredness,

"You ok?" You heard Glick whisper from beside you,

"Yeah, but Emma isn't settling down. It's too hot. Sorry if I woke you baby" you replied, kissing his lips lightly,

"It's fine. I reckon we should get air con installed, do you think?" He suggested,

"Oh my gosh yes please!" You both laughed softly, enjoying the time together, even if you did need to be quiet. You talked for a little bit longer before both deciding to sleep.

It wasn't even an hour later when Emma suddenly began bawling her eyes out. You were woken almost instantly as the wails were so much louder, you were fed up to say the least and were now extremely grumpy, Glick could sense this from beside you,

"Hey it's ok, I know it's annoying but we just have to be patient babe. She'll soon get used to it and we can sleep again. I'll go check on her" he offered,

"I guess, thanks baby" you whispered as he got up to check on your daughter. It had been quite for a few minutes so you went to check on your two loves.

You stepped inside Emma's room, and were greeted by the sight to Glick using the rocking chair and humming softly to your daughter. Your heart fluttered as you perched on the arm of the chair, putting your arm around Glick's shoulders,

"I love you" you said, kissing his cheek

"I love you too" he said smiling,

Emma gurgled and smiled up at both of you, how did you ever get so lucky?
