1. Smut
Did you know? When I originally began writing Dark Sun, the intimacy scenes were supposed to come much later in the story. I had planned to have a big reveal of Akechi and Ren's first intimate moment, but around this time was when Dark Sun originally began taking off and getting popular.
I moved the original intimacy scene back (presuming it was going to come in chapter 10 or 11) to Chapter 8: Mistake.
The reaction was so prominent to this chapter, I decided to write more intimacy into the story after that, thus changing the story quite drastically. Originally I had planned to put in only one or two scenes maximum, because this was my first story writing any type of sexual encounter, and I was worried I would ruin the feel if I wrote it wrong :")

2. Pilot
My other published AkeShu fanfiction, Transcendence, was actually the pilot for this story. I focused it more on pure Persona 5 story without much deviance, and featured alot more fighting.
One of the main drawbacks I learned through comments on the story was it lacked romance between Ren and Akechi. So, I decided to finish it and publish, then re-write a new story with more romance, and more original ideas mixed in.

Funny enough, Transcendence was mostly written on my downtime at the cafe at my gym xD

3. Drafting
Did you know? For as much hype as Dark Sun has received, I've been just as hyped to write the story. In certain chapters, I've written as much as 4 different drafts, prior to publishing the one draft that would make it as the final chapter.

One chapter that had this was Chapter 8: Mistake. This was Akechi and Ren's first intimate encounter. Other drafts of this chapter included Akechi dominating the entire situation, and another completely removed the dream angle from the original scene.

Another chapter that had this was Destruction Pt:2. Where Akechi finally takes his revenge on Shido.
I had started a draft exploring what happened if Ren convinced Akechi not to kill his father, instead taking his heart and allowing him to rot in jail for the rest of his life. I never finished it since it wasn't the direction I felt Dark Sun should end in.
