"Long time no see, eh?" Shisui grinned, scratching the back of his neck.

"Yeah.." I said, shifting uncomfortably as I stared at a random wall across the room with feigned interest, socialising with others wasn't a fort of mine.

"I didn't know you guys knew each other." Kei piqued, with a raised eyebrow. "Hello, Itachi, I haven't seen you in a long time."

Itachi had a polite smile on his face as he stood besides Shisui, I couldn't help but acknowledge the clear differences between Itachi and Sasuke. The way Itachi held himself was elegant as though he was sure of his movements, his eyes were visibly tired, but wise beyond his years. Sasuke on the other hand had a more laidback approach, he appeared to be hesitant and you could vividly see the wheels turn in his eyes as he calculated the matters at hand. Yet, in many aspects, the similarities were uncanny which, of course, wasn't unusual. They were brothers after all.

"Hello, Kei." Itachi greeted bashfully. Another difference, in many ways Itachi seemed unsociable, shy even. Whereas Sasuke was straightforward majority of the time. "I'm sorry for not making an appearance, I've been busy with missions lately. But I'm currently free, as someone, made me take a break." He glared at Shisui.

Shisui rolled his eyes playfully. "You're a workaholic, 'tachi. You wouldn't take a break unless someone physically sat on you. Even then you'd likely put them in a Genjutsu or something like that."

"You two were quite the comedic duo." Kei said in amusement. "I'm surprised to see you here since there are already a lot of Jounin issued."

"I may have pulled a few strings so that we could see Sasuke fight." Shisui smirked knowingly.

"Actually we just walked in." Itachi corrected, rolling his eyes.

"Dude, did you really need to say that?" Shisui groaned with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"Yeah." Itachi snorted. "Because you're very over-dramatic." Must be something that runs in the family.

"Am not!" Shisui retorted childishly.

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yes, I-" his words fell quiet.

I glanced at him, curious to know why he stopped mid-sentence only to see something entirely shocking— or at least, it was strange to me. His eyes, for a long second were obscured by a strong silver, white even, before returning back to normal. The rapid change of expression on his face sent a shiver down my spine as his focus was intently on Sasuke, as if he was deeply analysing him, I could almost see the gears shifting in his head.

My lips parted in surprise, that couldn't have been possible- could it? Or maybe my eyes were playing with me, it could've been a figment of the light or some weird discolouration of some sorts.

I suddenly recalled something that Jiro had said.

"Well, at least I think I do. When you blanked, your eyes turn this lacquer white."

The grip I had on the metal railings tightened more, if that was even possible, to the extent my knuckles were protruding out of my skin. Could Shisui... be like me? Or am I simply overreacting and using my eagerness to find someone like me as an excuse so that I wouldn't feel like more of a freak than I already was? I truly wanted to know what was happening to me or I feared that the lack of answers would drive me to insanity if I hadn't already lost my mind yet.

He stood besides me, oblivious to my calculative stare. The Uchiha appeared to be normal, nonchalant even, as if nothing happened. Maybe nothing did happen and I was overanalysing something that didn't require analysing.
