Synopsis:

Note: This is an ABO omegaverse story but those are not the terms used as this is set in Ancient China. Instead Alphas are called "Xie," Omegas are called "Kao," and Betas are called "ordinary people." There are very little "kao" so they are highly prized.

"The year I was born, we had "Three Joys" come to our household. The first was Father moving us away from the rural countryside; the second was my Eldest Brother passing the local imperial exams; and the third was the birth of my "kao" Fifth Sister."

Shen Jingting grew up largely forgotten as he was the son of a concubine and "ordinary". Meanwhile, his Fifth Sister has had an arranged marriage with two "xie" sons from the Xu Family since young. This was considered a prestigious climb for the Shen Clan.

However, Fifth Sister ran away at the last minute so Shen Jingting is sent in her place as they find out he is in fact, also a "kao". Due to the mix up, the Xu Family demands Shen Jingting to add on another husband, for a total of 3 husbands! Will love grow between these four very different people? Prepare your tissues!

Impressions: I just saw this today among the newly added series, I remember I read this way way baackk since it was a reco from White Sky Translations.

Quick summary: MC is like a hidden omega (will just use the ABO terms) so he grew up thinking of himself as a beta. Then his sister runs away from marriage and he gets chosen as replacement, then MC's omega  status is exposed. He marries 3 husbands. From what I remember, these husbands don't even like him all that much. ML1 is also a beta who already has a wife and daughter, but since MC would be marrying his 2 other brothers, ML1's mother keep pushing for ML1 to marry MC as well, because of this ML1's wife left him, so ML1's attitude to MC is not that good. 

ML2 is an alpha, and of course, he doesn't like sharing his wife. If ML1 is just cold to MC then this guy is downright evil. Really really really abusive, MC is really really pitiful, he became so scared of him that even after ML2 fell for MC and tried to 'woo' him, MC was terrified. ML3 was this weak/sickly brother, although he seems good on the surface, he's actually also insidious. I think there was one scene where he framed MC so that ML2 who was beginning to be good to him became crazy/abusive again. Anyways, its the sad married life of MC, many many things happen, ML1, 2 & 3 all fall for him in the end though. The ending was kinda open-ended, but MC and his 3 husbands has become harmonious to each other.

Prepare for the ANGST! The ABO setting plus the ancient times 'thinking' makes it doubly miserable. I was still a naive MTL-er back then, forcing myself to finish reading even though reading it makes me so sad/angry for the MC and it seems like all the characters are miserable in their own ways. I think I washed myself in fluff after reading this to lift my mood. Prepare for the SMUT! Lol. I think all of them was 1V1, but there was one 4P. If anything, this has a good character development cos by the end, MC and all 3 MLs have changed/realized their faults. But it's still so angsty! Fair warning to all ^^
