When Playboy Meets The Odd

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

MONSERRAT

I've been here in this fast food chain for almost four hours and I can't believe I am having fun by just watching Sage taking order and cleaning other tables.

This is more enjoyable than going to that bar. Buti na kang hindi na ako tumuloy.

This is my first time I saw her talking to people without arguing. Nakakatawa pa dahil kitang kita ko kung paano niya gustong umirap at sumigaw kapag may mga nagrereklamong customer.

She's been working really hard. It is very obvious that she didn't like what she's doing but she follows everything her Manager says.

Napapansin ko ring ilang beses na akong sinusulyapan ng mga tao ganun na rin ang mga staffs. I know some of them knows who I am, kaya siguro hindi rin ako mapaalis kahit pa mag-aapat na oras na akong nandito.

I don't have any intention to use my name or such power to stay here for this long, but I am suddenly thankful of who I am because I am able to watch and tease Sage during her time of work.

"Uhm, may kalat dito." Sabi ko nang mapadpad si Sage na may hawak na walis sa lamesa ko. It is a tissue from my ice cream.

Inis siyang tumingin sakin pero wala ring nagawa dahil nasa kalagitnaan nga ng trabaho.

"I didn't know you applied for this kind of job." Pagbibiro ko sa kanya. She sighed frustratingly at halos lumabas na ang lahat ng hangin sa katawan niya sa kanyang ilong.

"I am forbidden to chitchat with any customer, Sir." Supladang sabi nito at saka lumipat sa kabilang lamesa.

"Isn't that rude if you won't talk to a customer if he's saying something?" Tanong ko. She didn't reply and she silently clean the table.

Natatawa ko naman itong tinignan. She's so passionate!

A staff suddenly went to her. He stopped Sage from what she's doing and took the rag and the spray from her hand.

"Ako na diyan." Sabi niya. "Go and help others inside." Kaagad namang sumunod si Sage at pumasok sa kitchen area gaya ng sabi ng lalaki. He took a glance at me and continue what Sage was doing.

What's wrong with this guy?

Naghintay ako ng ilang minuto bago nagpasya na umalis na sana nang makita si Sage na palabas ma rin ng kitchen. She's now carrying her stuff and she's now wearing her casual clothes.

Tapos na?

I look at my wrist watch and I can't believe that it's already 7 p.m.  Did I really wait for her to finished? Wow.

Agad akong tumayo nang makitang tinahak niya na ang labas. Sinundan ko ito na kaagad naman naglakad palayo.

My car has been parking on Beau's vulcanizing shop. I don't know if I'll go and take it or I'll just follow this girl right here.

"Did you enjoyed your work?" Tanong ko dito. She drank her water and didn't reply.

"I didn't know you're such a pssionate worker!" Biro ko pa. Ni hindi niya ako tinignan at lumiko na lang sa pasilyo papunta sa isang convenince store.

"Are you hungry? Bakit diyan ka kakain?" Tanong ko nang mapagtanto ko na papasok siya dito. Hindi nga ako nagkamali at pumasok siya sa convenience store.

She walk towards the refrigerator and took another bottled water. Nagtungo din siya sa mga cup noodles at kumuha ng isa.

"Iyan lang ang kakainin mo?" She didn't look at me. I grab her wrist and tried to pull her. "Let's go to a restaurant!"
