MONSERRAT

I accepted the challenge and I am in the middle of a search of Sage's whereabouts. Ang sabi nila Louissa madalawa raw na tumatambay sa round table malapit sa canteen si Sage. Pero kanino pa kami nandito, halos alikabukin nga itong kasama kong barya.

"Sumuko ka na lang kaya. Alam mo makakabili ka pa naman ng kotseng ganun. You're wealthy, man! You can even buy this country, humble ka lang!" Peso elbowed me. Ngumiti ito nang nakakaloko at ewan ko ba at tumataas ang dugo ko.

"Palit tayo, gusto mo? I'll do your dare, you do mine. Magdadrop na ako sa PE, halika." I stand up.

"Di na mabiro? Joke lang! I heard Sage is a bit difficult." Halos pahina nang pahinang sabi ni Peso. He took a glance at me. "Pero, kaya mo yan! Ikaw pa ba? Monserrat yan eh! Luces ka boi!" Pambobola nito.

"I bet she didn't even know the Luces." Hula ko. Peso sighed.

"I think mine is really easier. Two weeks, you say. Dalawang araw na tayong nalalagi sa parte ng school na to, wala naman siya." Halos mawalan ako ng pag-asa sa sinabi ni Peso. Maybe, she don't really go outside the rooms because she doesn't like bumping into people.

"Anong ginagawa niyo dyan? Waiting for Sage?" Louissa suddenly appeared with a friend. "It's a dare." Bulong pa nito sa kasama nang mapansin ang pagtataka.

"She's a bit of gossip girl, isn't she?" Peso whispered.

"Hindi ngayon tatambay dyan si Sage." Louissa said.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Lumapit siya sa amin nang bahagya at saka nagsalita.

"Busy ang Senior High ngayon. Didn't you know? It's the least day of their clearance." Anito. "Isa pa, this maybe one of her favorite places, but there's a place she really loves hiding into." Louissa said.

Nagkatinginan naman kami ni Monsy. "How can she knows everything?" Tanong ni Peso.

"We're both thinking the same." I said.

SAGE

Natapos ko ang clearance and thank God, I can now rest in peace! Not die, okay? Just 'rest' and have 'peace'.

I took my completely signed clearance and gave it to the registrar. Bigay naman nila sakin ang copy ng card ko. I took a look at my grades and am not even surprised how high my grades are.

Pwede na akong scholar sa college, huh?

Oh, whatever. It's not like I really need that anyway. My Mom is fucking rich. She should at least pay for my tuition para naman masabing may paki siya sa akin.

I walk towards my favorite spot kasama ang kaibigan ko. Nadaanan ko pa ang mga kaklase ko na nagpapaalam sa isa't isa like they will never see each other again.

They saw me and immediately frowned their faces. However, one of them cleared her throat and took a bold step near me.

Wow!

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad. Anong kailangan nito. "I am already gave mine sa registrar." Hula ko sa kanyang pakay. She's our class monitor and she's in charge of collecting the clearance.

"Uh, it's not that." Aniya. Tinitigan niya ako at tinitigan ko rin siya kung paano ako normal na tumingin sa tao. She suddenly got annoyed but it feel's like she's trying to make herself better.

Ang arte ha, para namang pinipilit kong kausapin ako.

"Don't talk to me, if you really don't want to." Sabi ko dito. Her friends and her were shocked. Sus, para namang di pa nasanay sakin.
